If SBMM would be implemented, two things will happen:
1) -those with high scores/high skill will ONLY face others on relatively high score/skill (this will make harder for them to farm for Legend rank, or even reach teh ranks for weapons, not impossible, but harder)
2) -Low skill and low rating players will have a easier time to climb the Glory ladder, facing similar skilled level teams/players
The tryhards don't want this to happen. The tryhard "skilled" players got their Luna by FARMING LOW SKILLED, SOLO players. SBMM will not allow this anymore, they will always face equal opponents, and they will have a way harder time to push for ranks and achievements.
Thus, they don't want SBMM to come back, because they are scared of facing oponents of equal skill, they want easy fast wins against folks such as myself, to get their Luna and brag about how good they are.
The rest of the player base, the majority, is stuck feeding their egos, and they are literally a glory farm for these dudes.
Streamers and youtubers will have a harder time posting awesome clips about their 180's and other shenanigans, will have a harder time to climb.
These players HATE, and are scared to death about sbmm and solo queue being truly solo. They want / need a system such as we have now, where they can fireteam with other skilled friends and go and steam roll new players and players who aren't too good at crucible, to get their weapons then BRAG ABOUT THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS (all done against lower skilled players, btw).
I have watched a streamer for example whom, when he start facing high skilled opponents, simply quit and went to do pve because "ehmmm...i need to finish my weekly milestones", in fact he was raging that he was losing and stop doing pvp for the day. This wouldn't have happened if he would have faced noobs like me and constantly winning, in fact he would have gladly pvp for the rest of his stream, showing his "skillz"
Here you have it folks, this is the reason.
I would gladly take a queue time increase if sbmm would be applied, and not the system we have now in place, it is corrupted, broken, does Bungie don't see this, don't they care?
TLDR: the wannabe mythic glory ranked ones don't want sbmm. Because then they will start to lose against same level opponents

Earlier D1 PvP was awesome! You could go in solo and destroy anybody. Supers charged up at a great pace, super ammo crate fights matchmaking across different modes maps that weren’t shoe box size. Then bungie screwed it up too with the last update and then their is the D2 cesspool now. Gullible public is ready for D3.

2 RepliesEdited by BarretOblivion: 12/30/2018 8:13:18 PM
2) -Low skill and low rating players will have a easier time to climb the Glory ladder, facing similar skilled level teams/players
Incorrect. In SBMM or ladder ranks if you are bad you will still get stuck where you are supposed to be at down below. Climbing the ladder means you are IMPROVING or the game is incorrectly have your skill level set too low. Let me say this right now, I have yet to see a streamer not complain about the SBMM in competitive, and usually come back and say solo players will have problems. Now the issue is Quickplay. Quickplay by design and definition is a quick match where SBMM doesn't take any account and instead should be focused on connection. In D1 after they introduced SBMM into the base crucible connection quality of the matches were at their all time worst. The issue is competitive is not designed for solo players like it should and doesn't incentive you to play it unless you are in a full group and will get the seasonal rewards. After that there is no reason to go into competitive and try to improve as a player because: A) Full Team Queues B) There is no SBMM (or its completely broken) C) There are no rewards besides hitting Fabled or Legend Quickplay needs to stay CBMM but Competitive is the problem. If you want SBMM then competitive should be the playlist you play in. As long as SBMM is f'd in comp the game will continue to fail.

1 ReplyYou all will still cry about something afterwords. People blame bungie for things but a good 90% of it is from shit players doing shit things. Afk farm? Players. Lag switch? Players. Ddos? Players. Crap loadouts? Players. All in all the community that doesnt wanna play a loot based game to get well... the loot is just stupid in my eyes. Bungie is to blame for some stuff but comes down to the player base that make a great game. The fact that half of you guys cry about a dude that is a bigger crybaby then yourself is the reason why this game is being poo filled booty cheeks. Cry cry cry all you kids do, dont even try to get better just use excuses to get things dropped to your level of laziness. Old DTR is welcome in my books actually miss not having shit teammates anyways.

1 ReplyI just get nightmares of SBMM in D1 and how damn laggy it was.. If that is what SBMM does to the game, you can keep it in the basement. How can you put your "skill" to the test when it's matching you agaiamt players from every corner of the globe with dehydrated hamster powering their WiFi?

2 RepliesEdited by ELRaSun: 12/31/2018 10:29:50 AMMany of the streamers openly admitted this earlier on in the games life cycle. “I don’t want to have to play sweaty all the time”

26 RepliesEdited by Eden: 12/30/2018 10:32:00 PMSBMM means: - Longer queue times since the matchmaking has a smaller initial pool to pull from. - Laggier games, because the matchmaking prioritises "skill" over connection. - Rendering the Glory ranking system in Comp useless, since you're always matching people of your skill, as opposed to facing tougher and tougher opponents as you climb the ranks. Comp is the most accessible it's ever been, and Luna's is way easier to obtain than Redrix's Claymore was back in season 3. I've seen 0.9s with Luna's. I've seen solo players with Luna's. The only difference between solo/stacked players and bad/good players when it comes to getting Luna's is how long it takes to obtain it. It took me four days to hit Fabled (50% solo, 50% team). It'll most likely take me 2 more days to get the rest of the quest done. It may take someone else a month, it may take someone else two months, but pretty much anyone can get it if they put in the time.

1 ReplyTl:dr This guy wasn't around for SBMM, and the horrible latency it gave.

Dedicated servers or it’s never going to be a truely competitive playlist... smiley face

I haven’t seen people bragging about Luna’s/NF, only people complaining about them

Edited by LordShaxx: 12/31/2018 3:15:12 PMYea sorry chief but you're wrong. What a load of rubbish. I enjoy playing people who are better than me. And so do most of my sweaty friends. We just dislike the obnoxious lag that sbmm brings into the game. And, more importantly, most luna streamers do account recovery, so they wouldnt even be affected by skill based matchmaking anyway. If anything, it would make their job even easier.
-
High skill matches would actually attract more people on twitch. Your point is wrong
-
I do think the main reason streamers/content creators don't like SBMM is their ego's. But you also have to recognise the problems true SBMM would bring with it. So overall probably worth letting them farm us now and again for montages etc.

8 RepliesI just want all solo competitive playlist, and another Fireteam playlist.

I agree with this post 100% It ceases to amaze me over the years of Destiny 1/2 the top 1000 crucible players of all sorts of gametypes (Trials/Rift/Control/ETC) are usually always in stacks trying to stomp *newer* players and claim they are *competitive* or even *good* in general. I've run into a few names I won't mention that I have never ever seen solo queue in my entire life xD!

7 RepliesIRON BANNER IS SBMM AND IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Theres no such thing as equal opponents. Someone is always going to be better or worse, someone always has to win or lose. Even if you were in sbmm games, you will eventually hit a wall that you cannot pass and end up with a 50% win rate anyway. You'll get to a point where you win a match, face slightly better people, lose that match, face slightly worse people, win that match etc. Not to mention with sbmm you will also have worse connection and thats already sketchy at best with P2P.
-
8 RepliesI dont want sbmm because if you want the best guns you should have to face the best. The idea of a bunch of 0.4s getting a lunas by going against other hellen kellers is crazy to me for a pinnacle reward. Thats coming from someone who isnt top tier in any way.
-
3 RepliesIn true SBMM a few things happen: 1: rank becomes meaningless because it isnt a measure of skill, it's a measure of matchmaking luck entirely. In true sbmm nearly everyone is forced into having a 50% w/l so there is almost no way to advance in rank without pure luck. 2: the players who think that "top tier players" are what's holding them back, realize that they were stomping worse players just as often as they were getting stomped.... and now don't understand why they arent having good games and everybody is sweating their nuts off 3: connection quality goes to shit

Who care's about luna's howl and all that, when there is the ballyhoo mk?
-
2 RepliesThe problem is that bungie doesnt know how to implement sbmm properly... they'll take the highest kd on your team and match you against a 4 stack of that same kd. I'd be fine with sbmm if they matched teams off the AVERAGE kd of all 4 players
-
Edited by CrashBang_XD: 12/31/2018 10:24:39 AMBungie do care, it’s exactly what they want Content creators on twitch and YouTube are free advertising for Destiny 2. If someone jumped onto Twitch and saw some guy getting wrecked or playing sweaty as hell in order to break even the reaction would be ‘that game looks boring’ or ‘nah, full of tryhards’ However potential new players jump onto YouTube or Twitch and see someone getting huge kill streaks, slayer medals and super multikills the reaction is ‘wow that game looks awesome’ and ‘that looks so easy, I could definitely do that!’ Bungie get to advertise their game to potential new players for free by showing the ‘upper’ end of play types and styles. That sounds like a win win for them. Never forget that Bungie is a business first and a developer second

20 RepliesEdited by Gizmo, Adept: 12/30/2018 8:12:21 PMScrew the streamers. They aren’t the only people who play this game. They get paid to play it and they got it free. Screw them. Just because they’re streamers, it doesn’t mean they have a say in the games development. I have a YouTube and twitch channel but I haven’t been posting videos as I don’t have the time to make and edit them while I’m playing the game. If I did though, would it mean I have a say in the games development? No, as they only people who have a say are those who work for Bungie. They can base their work on feedback, sure, but they should make the game how they want to make it not how some pampered whiney nerd wants it made.

2 RepliesEdited by TheGodOfShadowz: 12/31/2018 6:43:34 AMYou don’t understand. Bungie profits from the streamers and YouTubers. They selling the game across all 3 platforms. If they introduce SBMM no one will donate/subscribe to watch them on twitch sweating and rage quitting. Also one streamer/YouTuber must be exempt: True Vanguard. I watch him often and while he has all the crucible pinnacle weapons he barely uses them,he always switch and explore PvP play with different weapons.

2 RepliesI’m not that good with it yet but the tolesto ruins them. One shot and even if you do, so do they. Just sayin
