If SBMM would be implemented, two things will happen:
1) -those with high scores/high skill will ONLY face others on relatively high score/skill (this will make harder for them to farm for Legend rank, or even reach teh ranks for weapons, not impossible, but harder)
2) -Low skill and low rating players will have a easier time to climb the Glory ladder, facing similar skilled level teams/players
The tryhards don't want this to happen. The tryhard "skilled" players got their Luna by FARMING LOW SKILLED, SOLO players. SBMM will not allow this anymore, they will always face equal opponents, and they will have a way harder time to push for ranks and achievements.
Thus, they don't want SBMM to come back, because they are scared of facing oponents of equal skill, they want easy fast wins against folks such as myself, to get their Luna and brag about how good they are.
The rest of the player base, the majority, is stuck feeding their egos, and they are literally a glory farm for these dudes.
Streamers and youtubers will have a harder time posting awesome clips about their 180's and other shenanigans, will have a harder time to climb.
These players HATE, and are scared to death about sbmm and solo queue being truly solo. They want / need a system such as we have now, where they can fireteam with other skilled friends and go and steam roll new players and players who aren't too good at crucible, to get their weapons then BRAG ABOUT THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS (all done against lower skilled players, btw).
I have watched a streamer for example whom, when he start facing high skilled opponents, simply quit and went to do pve because "ehmmm...i need to finish my weekly milestones", in fact he was raging that he was losing and stop doing pvp for the day. This wouldn't have happened if he would have faced noobs like me and constantly winning, in fact he would have gladly pvp for the rest of his stream, showing his "skillz"
Here you have it folks, this is the reason.
I would gladly take a queue time increase if sbmm would be applied, and not the system we have now in place, it is corrupted, broken, does Bungie don't see this, don't they care?
TLDR: the wannabe mythic glory ranked ones don't want sbmm. Because then they will start to lose against same level opponents

10 RepliesYou have the issue directly in your crosshairs. The game is being held down by Youtubers and other content creators. It's bungie's fault really because by releasing a shallow game they left the door open for them. To shut up the internet, they built the game content creators wanted. And the content creators lie to everyone daily. "SBMM is bad" "20 hours per week is casual" "infusion needs to matter " but in reality I play 80 hours per week and I need content for my viewers. All the problems don't effect me because I can dm two God tier players to run with at will, the hours I play give me more cores and materials then I will ever need, and I can save powerful drops for the next dlc. We are not playing the same game. I won't be coming back. I will master the shitty gunplay in rdr2 before I come back. Goodbye Bungie.

1 ReplyGotta love how many idiots fight tooth and nail and whine like -blam!-ing children when it comes to keeping a broken matchmaking system in place so they don't ever have to have fair matches just so they can stomp people worse than them to feel good about themselves. I say this from the bottom of my heart. If you're one of those people please do mix ammonia and bleach in a bucket and take a good deep whiff of it.

You’re bad at the game
-
Number 2 is true but that's just how it is hopefully everyone understands that.
-
Randoms facing a premade is worse than lacking SBMM. Put the premades of 3 or more into their own queue and SBMM is less of a big deal.
-
Who was this streamer?
-
8 RepliesThe trytards and sweats will cry blasphemy at this but it’s true 💯 %.

3 RepliesI'm seeing a lot of responses that amount to IM NOT BAD THE GAME IS BAD! ***YOU*** ARE BAD! FOR KILLING ME!!! Can people just L2P, and accept that unless they put time and effort into somethig, they won't get good at it? Who said you paid $60 to be good at Crucible? You bought the opportunity to compete in crucible. Notice that word, "compete". Not "win". "Compete".

I agree 100%
-
18 RepliesWhat a pile of crap. We all know the best way to get better is to face equal, or better skilled players.

2 RepliesEdited by Truthiness_Inc: 12/30/2018 6:58:36 PMDid you think there wasn't any sort of matchmaking in comp? Quickplay is the one without any SBMM Comp matchmaking goes by rank. If they put SBMM into comp over what they have now they paid carries will have an easier time as they will recover an account and it will be a low skill account and then they stomp low skill players until the end of the quest. You people just want to fight scrubs for your whole quest. Some people need to just admit they aren't good enough or have enough patience to earn it.
-
2 RepliesBare minimum the game should gather 8-12 players by connection then distribute skill equally as possible.
-
4 RepliesThank you well said ........bungie should take this into real consideration for the future of destiny.....and yes all streamers and you tubers are absolute ass trash.....
-
15 RepliesYup, I'll gladly wait longer to play crappy people like me. I'm old, reflexes are slower, my tv is huge. I have disadvantages. I used to like playing crucible. After they took out sbmm I pretty much stopped playing. It's pointless for me.

87 RepliesEdited by Lost Sols: 12/30/2018 7:27:03 PMYup and until the community at large understand that they've been sold a huge freaking lie about SBMM by the streamers and top PvP players, and start asking Bungie to put it back in QP, nothing will change. This Iron Banner with skill enabled, I've played about 133 matches and seen 6-8 Platinum players, 1 Not Forgotten and a handful of Luna's. Triplewreck started the anti-sbmm movement in D1 because he didn't like having to play people his own skill. He also led the charge to keep it out of Forsaken. Fun fact. He won almost 10,700 out of 13,545 D1 games with SBMM. That's 79% wins. He also won 1908 and only lost 618 games in D2 Y1 with sbmm enabled. That's 76% wins. Since sbmm has been removed, he was 988 wins and 185 losses through last week. That's 84% wins. His kd through 13545 D1 games? 2.45 His kd in D2? 2.69 and I went back and over a 72 game span he was at 4.42 TrueVanguard put out a tweet the other day that he had two 55 kill games and was thinking of posting the videos. Both he and Triplewreck are over 2300 Master Elo players. His opponents in those 2 games were all bronze, silver and gold. That's like LeBron James going to the local park and posting videos bragging about throwing down 50+. Through 72 games Triplewreck played 3 players his own skill. 90% were bronze, silver or gold. He's playing at his skill in .07% of his games. Meanwhile we have Platinum, Diamond and Master tier opponents in 1 out of every 2.5 games we play. That's why every game is nothing but Luna's and Not Forgotten, and one or two players wiping the floor with everyone.

As long as theres no dedicated servers SBMM will never work. Theres too much latency and lag that peer to peer simply cannot handle it. Until then connection based is the best option. This is why Crucible isn’t meant to even be taken seriously.
-
Just passing by to say i disagree and disliked.
-
So true, preach it brother
-
The other reason is so they can continue to go into rumble and exploit the advantage it gives over those that done have it.
-
I'm one of those shitty a--hole crucible players, honestly. I steamroll lesser players, get a KD of 3.0 or 6.0 and screenshot it and talk about how good I am at crucible.... .....then, when I get steamrolled by better players, I get on here and complain about meta weapons/classes/supers. It's all part of the experience, I guess.

Edited by Warz: 12/31/2018 4:10:18 PMI think it’s part of the problem, but only part. I think that it’s a player population problem as well. People who get stomped constantly sometimes stop going in comp playlist all together. Other people trying to climb ranks will quit some times when they go on a losing streak and loose the progress they have made. I think if they just remove the losing penalty a lot more people will go into the playlist. There for there will be more skill levels to match against. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think the Luna, NF, MT should be handed out. But you should be able to grind for them. You should be able to constantly play with people around your rank until you can get better and rank up. TLDR: Remove losing penalty, then a lot more people will play. More even matches.

This would -blam!- any good player trying to solo 😂 and recovs would become a huge problem Imaging playing 3 kds on recovs and they only play .9s through legend 😂
-
Comp should be (And I hope it is) SBMM, come on its Competitive! No one goes in there for a relaxing game. That's what quick play is for. I think Iron banner should be SBMM simply on its premise. Gear is the prime function, and power is enabled, and it's basically the endgame. Sounds more competitive than relaxing. Quickplay can be either, preferably CBMM, I don't take it seriously there. I just laugh and enjoy myself.

11 RepliesEdited by gfuup: 12/30/2018 8:03:13 PMOne of the main reasons people were against it was because you were getting match with people from different continents causing terrible lag and matchmaking taking an internity. Bringing it back won't make a difference to lower skill players also, because as they progress they would meet that skill wall and be back to where they are now......... Getting owned!

Earlier D1 PvP was awesome! You could go in solo and destroy anybody. Supers charged up at a great pace, super ammo crate fights matchmaking across different modes maps that weren’t shoe box size. Then bungie screwed it up too with the last update and then their is the D2 cesspool now. Gullible public is ready for D3.
