Yeah, me too. It really didn't affect PvP at all and definitely created artificial difficulty in PvE (mostly because of the horrendous loading times for the menus waiting to pop synths).
Around the time they implemented that ammo capacity nerf I actually quit Destiny and played a lot of The Division (the only game even close to the same genre as Destiny) and was surprised to see that I could hold over 250 rounds for my sniper rifle instead of just 19.
Same here. I also took a break after that update dropped. And I also played the Division for a while.
That game was far from perfect, but I don't remember ever running out of ammo.
And then...one of their updates (1.4 iirc) they were like " yeah once you hit lvl 30 we'll just double ammo capacity on all weapons."
Yeah, I never ran out of ammo in The Division and to be clear I'm not saying that Destiny should allow you to hold over 200 rounds of sniper ammo in your ammo reserve, but I do think it should be a lot higher than 15-19.
I don't understand why they restrict ammo so much in the game. What would be the problem with having 50 rounds of sniper? It would still take you just as long to shoot it all based on the fire rate and reload speed of the weapon. Also, not many players would be able to land 50 consecutive headshots as fast as your weapon can fire.
It just turns into a hording simulator where you're afraid to ever use your special or heavy so you will have full, but still miniscule, ammo for boss fights.
