What's a sniper?
I hate it how Bungie changes 2 things on snipers ( OP flinch,which honestly isn't that bad,and the damage reduction to the 1000 Yard,Longbow,LDR etc..) and it makes people just use shotguns! Like really? Don't get me wrong I don't mind getting shotgunned from time to time,but only getting rushed by a shotgun every 2 seconds get kind of annoying.
I don't know what Bungie should do about snipers,maybe change them back to how they were in year 1 or 2?
Just my opinion though. (I don't mind if you hate on me,just don't think of getting a response from me)

I think snipers are those things that people use in close/medium range and one shot you all the time with.. I think one of the most popular one is called ... [i]Matador 64?[/i] I could be wrong though.. I can see why they got flinch nerfs but I feel like they could do with more nerfs because no matter what even if I'm shooting them they're still able to one shot me

It's just a rotating door. If you weren't getting shotgunned right now you'd be getting sniped. Which sucks :(

1 ReplyPeople will never understand. This is a PVE game. The pvp was only ever a bonus. And it will NEVER BE BALANCED. If there were ever plans for pvp to be balanced, they would have separated weapon behavior for each mode.

A sniper is that thing you instinctively pull out in PvE and when you PvP you ignore the fact it even exists.

4 rounds is all you get, Don't let them get close. Then again even if destiny took out special and heavy and just allowed primaries people would still bitch because everyone who plays pvp thinks they are the best and if they die it was "lag" or something else at fault. Get good

6 RepliesI'm a shotgunner to the core. Watching scrubs change with the meta is freaking hilarious. The only time I changed weapons was when they broke fusion rifles. I was 50/50 shotgun and fusion then moved to all shotty. (I've used Auto Rifles as my primary since Day 1.) I love facing down amateur shotgunners. Such easy kills. Even gotten a fair few kills with double melees.

Its tough. Bungie seems to jump from one extreme to another. They need to find a safe mid way and make primaries good again so people will use them more. Primaries are just too weak right now, well most are

From 1st August to 19th September, the top 10 special weapons used in control on Xbox were 4 shotguns, 4 snipers, 1 fusion rifle and a sidearm. From 20th September to 20th October the top 10 special weapons used in control on Xbox were 7 shotguns, 2 snipers, 1 sidearm.

22 RepliesFlinch is fine, and honestly was needed. Snipers were low risk, high reward, now they are high risk, high reward, as the should be. You actually have a chance to beat them with a primary. Damage nerf was unnecessary though.

1 ReplyPeople complain about snipers in the current meta, call them OP. -Obviously they don't remember Efrideets Spear with Final Round and Armor Piercing Rounds. You could shot kill with a body shot, he'll you could even shoot through thin cover walls! People complain about shotguns and ask for nerfs. -Felwinters with shot package and rangefinder. If you thought pre Universal had range...you don't know what range is. In short everyone is always going to complain about something, when honestly snipers are weaker then Y1 and so are shotguns. Not have taken heavy nerfs, they're still usable but they're not out of control.

The only thing I want fixed is the Zoom and ADS speed. It makes no sense why they changed that, I don't mind the damage and flinch nerfs.

1 ReplySpecial weapons just can't be balanced in this game, everyone on a team spawning with special ammo and special ammo crates being on the map that can also feed an entire team with one crate just don't jive very well with Destiny. In my opinion.

I think the proliferation of shot gun usage has more to do with the new game mode than the nerf to snipers.
