Does anyone choose gear/weapons based off of looks?
I like the look of the eyasluna and happen to have two of them with excellent rolls. I have one for pve and one for pvp. I also love the invective, bad juju, Haakons hatchet, pretty much all of New Monarchy, the Soulstealers Claw (which has still eluded me), harrowed quillims, Hardlight, Red death and of course Gjallarhorn . I wish there was a "Gjallarhorn skin for all of he weapons.
Please share if you're u are in the same mindset or love the look of any in particular weapon.
Edit 1: HOLY $#!%. Got on this morning and saw 100+ replies! Thanks folks, time to start reading. Glad to see I'm not the only Fashion Fighter out there.
Edit 2:I never did tell you what I like for my gear.
Titan: all spectar if possible with yellow chroma and vallesgarde shader and dead orbit exotic class mark.
Warlock: if I wear vallesgarde (it has really good solid black on warlocks) I wear one of two extic chest pieces ( usually the one with two fusion grenades but sometimes sun breaker gauntlets) and/or new monarchy chest. Everything is black and yellow with yellow chroma.
I also like midday with my warlock with green chroma gear and ram helmet.
Hunter: void flayer cloak armor is a bit random and queens web shader. Can also use Krokos shader and another purple one I forgot the name of.
Edit 3: I see some folks who prefer stats before style (which is understandable) but the nice thing about trying to achieve both is it definitely gives you something more to strive for. This game has come a long way from when it launched and the amount of customization is superb. Anyone remember when we all looked [u]exactly the same[/u] in order to achieve appropriate light level? That sucked. It was like showing up to o prom in the same dress (at least I imagine it is lol!)

I use the zarinaea d because i think it looks awesome it actually looks like a real gun. Its not by any means the best performing weapon but screw it, its fun and feels cool to play with.

I don't really care about how a weapon looks, but armor is a completely different story. I loved the VoG gear, but everything from CE and KF looks butt ugly to me. I'm so glad we're able to infuse any piece of armor now.

I do. Sort of. I won't wear gear I deem to look disgusting no matter how great the perks/stats are. But I also won't wear gear that looks amazing if I do not benefit from their perks/stats. So I am only slightly a fashion-whore.

The King's Fall raid weapons look great, but only the normal set. The Harrowed set is too shiny and fake looking. Although I like the look of the Harrowed armor set.

Edited by Lord Fried: 6/23/2016 3:19:25 PMFor gear, it's a combination of look and stats, and thankfully, infusion has helped quite a bit. For weapons, I don't care how they look, as long as they tear stuff up....except for the first Iron Banner hand cannon, that thing is ugly.

1 ReplyI choose my gear off of looks, but I don't wear it until I have the perks I want on it. Sometimes it takes awhile to get a new monarchy chest with dis/str, sniper ammo and extra void armor.

Sometimes, for example I like the chaperon on it looks, but I really wish it didn't shoot slugs instead of buckshots.
