I like the look of the eyasluna and happen to have two of them with excellent rolls. I have one for pve and one for pvp. I also love the invective, bad juju, Haakons hatchet, pretty much all of New Monarchy, the Soulstealers Claw (which has still eluded me), harrowed quillims, Hardlight, Red death and of course Gjallarhorn . I wish there was a "Gjallarhorn skin for all of he weapons.
Please share if you're u are in the same mindset or love the look of any in particular weapon.
Edit 1: HOLY $#!%. Got on this morning and saw 100+ replies! Thanks folks, time to start reading. Glad to see I'm not the only Fashion Fighter out there.
Edit 2:I never did tell you what I like for my gear.
Titan: all spectar if possible with yellow chroma and vallesgarde shader and dead orbit exotic class mark.
Warlock: if I wear vallesgarde (it has really good solid black on warlocks) I wear one of two extic chest pieces ( usually the one with two fusion grenades but sometimes sun breaker gauntlets) and/or new monarchy chest. Everything is black and yellow with yellow chroma.
I also like midday with my warlock with green chroma gear and ram helmet.
Hunter: void flayer cloak armor is a bit random and queens web shader. Can also use Krokos shader and another purple one I forgot the name of.
Edit 3: I see some folks who prefer stats before style (which is understandable) but the nice thing about trying to achieve both is it definitely gives you something more to strive for. This game has come a long way from when it launched and the amount of customization is superb. Anyone remember when we all looked exactly the same in order to achieve appropriate light level? That sucked. It was like showing up to o prom in the same dress (at least I imagine it is lol!)

5 RepliesNever, but I do try my hardest to have matching gear. I have gear for each subclass. Usually int/dis or int/str. I would never do a dis/str build. I prefer to have useful gear. You will see people with sniper ammo and sniper reload gear with like 200 sniper kills. Lol pointless I like hand cannons and snipers so my gear is based around that.
-
For armor, as long as it has the right stat rolls and looks good I'll use it.
-
-
Somewhat, I usually just put on a bad ass shader to go with it
-
Style before Stats all day!
-
Check my hunter cloak. It's bad azz. Never seen anybody with it.
-
Seems like everyone chooses style over function on their gear. Every time I stop to inspect someone they always have gear equipped that doesn't match up with whatever weapons they are using.
-
Patience/Time is the sexiest gun IMO. Nothing makes a gun sexier than netting.... Outside of that, I really love my Hunter's IB gear this year and the Shattered Vault Cloak or the Legend of Six Coyotes Cloak.
-
2 RepliesOf course - This is why so many people ignored last season's Not Like the Others from the vendor - because its ugly. Now, if anyone rolls a scout with Crowd Control, exploding rounds and Reactive Reload they would have a cow (and yes, it is legit one of the top pve primaries one could have).
-
Launch gear looks better than all the gear since. That's the real bummer about Year 1 gear not carrying over.
-
Armor? Yes Weapons? Really depends if it's good or not
-
I thought you wanted to know whether people chose gear for looks, and I found out that you just wanted to show off. Bleh.
-
Just like Fashionframe, the aesthetics are the key to success. Not going to lie though but with every content update that Bungie puts out, at the top of my list is: "Any new shaders? What do they look like? How do I get them? I must get them!".
-
Armor yes, I will take a disc+strength/int+strength roll over int+disc just because of how it looks (like my warlock helm) but not on weapons. I use the weapons that feel right over how they look.
-
Nope... I just use shaders and emblems that match my class items
-
On my titan i found gear that went with scouts instead of pulse. So i used it but switched to scouts just on that character. So yes and no
-
Yes! At this point I'm only keeping and using armor I think looks cool. To hell with the stats I'll kick ass regardless
-
5 RepliesNot at all. I don't give a crap what my characters look like. I go by the perks, rolls and such. If you want to play dress up, there are other games that would probably do a better job.
-
Gear? Abso-blam!-inglutely! Gotta look swaggy at all times. But it's hard to do that when your class items don't change colors!!! But yeah... Yes to gear, no to weapons.
-
I try not to, but when you have the combo of gear that just looks incredible it's so hard to not show it off. My problem now is I went 5-5-1 as a gunslinger main but after the patch I switched to night stalker so I need gear the puts me at 1-5-5 because I treat smoke like a separate grenade. But now I have to look stupid to even get close ☹️ sad part is I finally got a good looking intellect discipline chest I've been searching for for forever to replace my discipline strength chest right after I switched to a discipline strength build. Back to the ugly chest 😒
-
That is the only reason my characters wear what they do lol
-
I do. In the first few weeks on a new DLC i solely go for stats/light, then und i slowly replace everything with something more fashionable. In TTK, i had a very hard time finding a suitable warlock chest that didn't make me look like a bird. Fortunately, i did receive the Trials chest and also got comfortable with the DO chest.
-
I'm still rocking my Crota gear on my warlock just because it looks so nice

1 Replyyup that would be me. Not for the weapons, but definitely for the armor. I am particularly proud of my warlock! I was doing CoE with my friend yesterday, and after each round, he's changing gear: "ok round 2 is vex, so let me get my vex armor and vex weapons on". at one point he asked me what gauntlets I use for Vex vs hive? I was like "are you kidding?" I choose this armor because it looks good! haha I mean yeah I know CoE this week is all about grenades, so I increased my discipline, but I'm not gonna change out my Obsidian mind because I need Nothing Manacles equipped or whatever. The game is just that: a game! it's supposed to be fun! I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that would rather fire team with him, because maybe he "takes it more seriously" and that's fine. I will say though: I did have the highest score on each round. ;-)

Edited by Kenshin5599: 6/23/2016 3:35:43 PMNope, I go off perks and stats. Which is why my warlock has almost all raid gear cause I got everything the way with raid gear that being said I would love to mix it up but I'm pretty picky on what I want.
