Does anyone choose gear/weapons based off of looks?
I like the look of the eyasluna and happen to have two of them with excellent rolls. I have one for pve and one for pvp. I also love the invective, bad juju, Haakons hatchet, pretty much all of New Monarchy, the Soulstealers Claw (which has still eluded me), harrowed quillims, Hardlight, Red death and of course Gjallarhorn . I wish there was a "Gjallarhorn skin for all of he weapons.
Please share if you're u are in the same mindset or love the look of any in particular weapon.
Edit 1: HOLY $#!%. Got on this morning and saw 100+ replies! Thanks folks, time to start reading. Glad to see I'm not the only Fashion Fighter out there.
Edit 2:I never did tell you what I like for my gear.
Titan: all spectar if possible with yellow chroma and vallesgarde shader and dead orbit exotic class mark.
Warlock: if I wear vallesgarde (it has really good solid black on warlocks) I wear one of two extic chest pieces ( usually the one with two fusion grenades but sometimes sun breaker gauntlets) and/or new monarchy chest. Everything is black and yellow with yellow chroma.
I also like midday with my warlock with green chroma gear and ram helmet.
Hunter: void flayer cloak armor is a bit random and queens web shader. Can also use Krokos shader and another purple one I forgot the name of.
Edit 3: I see some folks who prefer stats before style (which is understandable) but the nice thing about trying to achieve both is it definitely gives you something more to strive for. This game has come a long way from when it launched and the amount of customization is superb. Anyone remember when we all looked [u]exactly the same[/u] in order to achieve appropriate light level? That sucked. It was like showing up to o prom in the same dress (at least I imagine it is lol!)

A mixture of both, not being really fussy with perks helps, just a few useful ones

Yep, I honestly couldn't care less about perks, if the armor looks good I'm wearing it. Missing two shaders that I tried so hard to get, though, year one trials shader and shimmer, my two favorite shaders and I grinded for them for so long and never got them.

I honestly don't even care about perks, I have every legendary armor gear set for my titan, and just mix and match.

I love the way my hunter looks. It's by far my favorite look since the game came out and I was excited to hear that we'll be able infuse year two gear. Plus when I am killing guys in PVE and PVP it's fun knowing how badass your guy looks. Especially in 3rd person when I am running with my Raze Lighter in PVE which is almost 100% of the time. It was also nice to get my year one favorite hand cannon back too, Lord High Fixer.

My hunters armors is all black with red glow (in-game) and my chespiece have some red glow on it. I use a black and red cloak and a red sparrow. To top it off i use a black shotty, a solar sword and Red Death... For me, if my armor doesn't match my guns color scheme, it bothers me a lot x)

2 RepliesSure, used to a lot anyway when it didn't matter as much. Used the Arachnid helm even when not playing Gunslinger cause I loved it. Now it's whatever gets my light higher when decrypting or opening packages, and then whatever gives the right perks where possible accounting for needing certain light levels for content.

I try to get the looks with good stats or useful at least.

I always consider looks when getting armor, but stats and perks still come first.

I've been giving up my spektar armor parts for older generic ones if i like i better, ten to one i'll eventually get spektar versions of them from faction drops.

2 RepliesI do. It makes the grind even worse. Not only do you have to pray to RNGesus for the right gear to drop, you also have to pray for the right perks.

Right here. Me, all day. I actually play worse when I know I look ugly. The extra chroma colors, shaders and etheric light/infusion have been big steps forward for aesthetics, but I still think class items shouldn't affect light.

I do this no matter what. My Titan will never use a handcannon because handcannons are for puny baby hunters. I will always wear the iron banner/ trails armor on my Titan. They just look the sickest. I hope to find the "deep stone crypt" mark for my Titan with year two values or I'll be forced to wear my year one version. Warlocks are all about balance. I will never wear anything asymmetrical on him. My hunter will always be dressed in the shittiest armor I can find. This is to reflect my outlook on hunters. -

I do!!! I love using the nl shadow (don't have it equiped) , grim citizen (because its skin is the same as the white assault rifle which i seriously addore the look of) and use a cloak i bought off the speaker (don't know the name though) and for my heavy i have the dragon breath (adore the look!) don't like the look of the 1KYS but i should have at least one decent gun right? Lol.

7 RepliesObsidian mind with Hard Mode Raid armor for a black is back vibe. But my username calls for some red, so a spektar helmet and legs with red chroma, iron banner exclusive gauntlets, and the before mentioned Raid armor for a sleek black and red flavor with a silver finish. No shader. Because my Exo warlock is gold, well, I will sometimes roll with Million Million shader. So yes. I have come to a point where I have married stats and fashion into something fabulous for all occasions.
