Destiny Is Dead?
Or so I see in numerous threads posted by haters almost daily. Then I watch the reveal stream today and see [b]227,125[/b] people tune in.
Keep in mind only the biggest enthusiast likely tuned in on a weekday, during the day to see this....what about the many who play that didn't tune in?
It is safe to say that the community for Destiny is thriving, maybe not day one level but for a shooter into it's second year I think it's damn good and I want to thank Bungie for all their effort making a great game.

I set my alarm, woke up at bullshit o'clock, opened my laptop to a blindingly painful light that made me wanna tear my eyes from their sockets, logged into twitch, and watched. Why? Because destiny. Because I love this game even with its flaws. Its not dead yet, not even close....[/spoiler]

11 RepliesDestiny isn't dead. The vast majority of the player base consists of year 2 crybaby noobs and casuals. Most of the veteran Day 1 players have moved on.

The people who say that cannot accept Destiny as a successful franchise because of their initial, or maybe someone else's that they listen to, reaction. Alright, Bungie failed to deliver at launch according to critics, doesn't meant they're not trying to deliver now. Usually the road to success is a bunch of failures, and the video game community cannot understand that.

3 RepliesYup. I don't know why so many are so eager to pronounce it 'dead', or why they're so gleeful in telling people that the game is trash etc. The game seems fine to me. It's survived every 'Destiny killer' that's been released (lol, Division) and continues to do well. It's almost like these people feel that if they no longer enjoy it and don't want to play, everyone else should feel the same way. Which is of course a petty, childish attitude that only an overgrown man-baby would have.

6 RepliesThis game isn't dead, was never dead, and never will be dead. It is a fundamentally strong game: crisp gameplay and high replay value. These are the things that bring people back. These are the things that keep this game in your console. Glitches, hacks, OP gear and weapons are among a large list of [i]minor [/i]problems this game has. These issues aren't enough to turn people away. Sure, people will play other games during a content drought. That's natural. But when Destiny has news, 225k people tune in to hear about it in the middle of the day during the week. And that's a testament to how great this game is. "The division will kill Destiny". "Overwatch will kill Destiny". Insert any other game, we've heard them all. Still hasn't happened yet. Call me a desticle if you want, facts are facts.

4 Replies"Destiny is dead" Then why are they making even more content for a game that is going into year 3. Not even Borderlands 2 survived 2 years of constant content drops like this. They just say Destiny is dead when there are long breaks between content drops. Go play some other game, take a break, then come back and remember why you play Destiny.

And secondly, this doesnt mean anything for Destiny's state of player quantity. I watched and I dont play it anymore. Many of these are just people watching reveals for the sake of watching. Its E3 time and people watch alot of shit they are never going to buy.

So 46,000 on last gen, let's say half come so 23,000 We now have 200,000 More users will be on ps4 because of the exclusives so we will assume 60/40% So 120,000 ps4 80000 xb1 Now this is assuming all those watching play. Some might have quit and wanted to see what Bungie had to offer. So 110,000 ps4 70,000 xb1 This is still assuming everyone plays.

227,000, now tell me how many of those are actually playing. Streams aren't good tools to measure anything, specially fan base, and people are sheep, they'll watch anything Bungie puts there.

It's s game it changes at least 2x a year what you liked will be replaced by new shite that you may or may not like Progression
