Everybody who doubts the legitimacy and content this update will bring misses a key point:
Activision announced this alongside Destiny 2 in a shareholders meeting/in an announcement of their roadmap.
As a company, you don't do this if the content is A.) not paid, B.) not dramatic. You especially don't bring it on the same level as Destiny 2 unless it is big.

Exactly. Some guy was trying to say it will be an end of life update with nothing special involved. They've already said it will be on the same scale as TTK, which I'm perfectly ok with. The sequel probably won't release until Q3 2017, so this expansion will have to last us for a full year.
