I stopped playing fallout probably around the middle of January. I was on PS4 and got to a little over level 80. So pretty much did most of what you could do in vanilla. Played on survival, tens of thousands of caps, etc. I didn't get the season pass.
I wanted to know if it's worth getting both the DLCs and going back. I really enjoyed the game but it just couldn't grasp me (once I got very far in the game) over games that I could play with friends as much.
The main reason I left was because there just wasn't much to do. I've heard that the DLCs are worth the money. But; is it worth the money+time?

I beat the Automatron DLC in literally 30 minutes.
-
Mods comes next week for us xboners, so I suppose so? Can't wait for that godmode mod i saw alongside infinite fusion core power.
-
Not until we get far harbor and/or mods
-
I'd say come back in May when Far Harbor and mods are available, if you're on Xbox. If PlayStation, then June.
-
If you can run it on your PC, consider picking it up and messing around with the Creation Kit when it comes out if that's at all interesting to you. I mean, or try that out first with the Skyrim Creation Kit.
-
Get the automatron dlc, complete the campaign and build some robots
-
It's worth it but I'd wait a few months if I were you, 3rd DLC is next month and PS4 mods may still be set to come the month after
-
I believe the new expansion comes out next month, and that should add a huge map. Supposedly the largest dlc Bethesda has ever made. I'd wait for that.

Edited by wojo55: 4/27/2016 6:23:16 PM??? You were done with the game 30 levels ago lol...by level 50 there should be nothing left but radiant and misc quest. That's not fun. It's not a mmo there no need to keep going unless you just nothing else to play. If so get a job so you can have more of a variety. Dlc drops come back to play it or if your like me you start a new character every time dlc drops and do a different approach. To Answer your question I always find it worth it and fun
-
Definitely worth it. The first two DLC are fun and just cheap little add ons, but the survival mode update and Far Harbor are coming very soon.
-
I'm not sure why I still play. I should be bored right? After all I'm level 108 on Xbox. No joke.
-
Wait for survival, mods, and the rest of the DLC to roll out, because in all honesty, the DLC's are pretty shitty. After the arenas and robots wear out, you get 3 missions which boil down to fetch quests and walk through corridors.
-
Waiting for Survival mode 2.0
-
Wait till survival then get the dlc and start a new character. ( in survival )
-
I've been waiting to play again once survival is released on consoles

Depends who you ask really. This is all just opinion, not fact. I have to say that because some people here struggle with that and think everything a person says is them trying to force their opinion on people. Look, I love the base game, i'll admit it. I'm running on close to a thousand hours now. I have it on PC and I do have a few mods to keep the interest up, mainly different types of settlement mods for different objects and bigger building budgets. The DLC though .... the DLC. Autromatron was fun for a short while. The story was great, up until the end, but it was incredibly short. The ending, without spoiling they wasted an opportunity to create a great character but it's the most boring, bland person in the game by far. The robot building is great fun, again, briefly. Once you've built a couple of robots it's not so much fun. Workshop Wasteland. Like I said, I have mods for a lot of extra settlement stuff so it wasn't exactly a necessity for me. Being able to capture various creatures and have them fight for you or guard your settlement or just sit around was a nice touch. Some of us have taken to clearing out one settlement just to make it into an arena. I have to admit, for a bit of content as small as it was it's well worth owning. That being said, i've seen nothing yet that come anywhere near close to justifying the price hike. I hear the next content drop is supposed to be quite large but we'll see. As much fun as the new content is, it's nothing spectacular.

5 RepliesAre you on Pc or a console? I myself play it on pc and got bored a long time ago, before even the first dlc. If on pc, I'd wait until the big dlc comes out or the GECK comes out. If on console, Idk, the game Sucks on console imho.
-
2 RepliesI've been playing the last couple of days the automatron is awesome
-
no. you could have spent $30 for all the DLC, you missed that chance, and you're going to literally spend almost double the game cost to get the season pass... i'd wait until you get the GOTY edition with all the DLC as that seems like the better deal for you.. curated modding is coming to consoles soon.
-
Console mods are supposed to be coming next month, NEXT MONTH!!!! First order of buisness is to get the space marine paint for my power armour for maximum heretic purging (plain blue just isn't the same), next a few weapon packs, then go from there
-
You could, but since you're level 80 the DLCs out now should be easy unless you decide to create a new character. I'd say if you don't wait until they release the Far Harbor Expansion in May
-
I'm loving it.
-
3 RepliesThe DLCs so far suck. They dont really add much to the game. Im waiting to see if they actually add more land to explore. If not Ive already ran around every inch of that map so why start playing the same shit again
-
Lol spent the whole weekend on a new character. But I went back to my original character and now I'm farming legendaries.
-
I stopped for a bit but with The Harbor dlc coming out in May, I started a fresh character in preparation. So far I haven't even endured in the first two dlc packs because I'm with a new character but more dlc, the revamped survival mode, modding and free updates are all incoming later on. Since you have not bought the season pass when it was discounted, my personal advice is to wait until the reviews come in for The Harbor dlc. Then make your decision.
