Never, in ALL my years of gaming, have I ever encountered something so unanimously hated on by a community.
Skill-Based Matchmaking.
Granted, the game has numerous problems. I'll ignore all of those for now. SBMM has proven, time and time again, to be the constant plague of PvP. I've seen COUNTLESS posts asking and begging for its removal. And yet, after months of "tweaking the matchmaking," it is still blatantly obvious that it exists, and is consistently ruining the experience. Unbelievably horrible connections, the constant sweaty matches, and the solo-players-against-full-teams-in-iron-banner because of SBMM is pathetic and inexcusable. This is YOUR game, Bungie. The community has been in agreement for MONTHS that this is a problem and simply needs to be removed, or at the very least, DRASTICALLY changed so that it is no longer relevant.
I'm still in disbelief how this is even still a thing. Remember Black Ops 3, when they tried implementing SBMM in? The backlash from the community was loud and clear, and Treyarch, in response, took it back out within a matter of days. YOURS has been causing issues for the game for months, the community has been voicing their opinions on it loudly, and still, nothing has been done. It is simply pathetic that no positive action has been taken regarding the situation, and that you don't listen to the clear voice of your community. It's disrespectful and disgraceful.
You need to fix this, Bungie. We're past the point of asking politely. The community DEMANDS that you remove SBMM from Destiny.

Since the update has dropped i have had little time to play Destiny. I commenced this update as a 317 hunter. I have played PoE and yesterday i played the crucible. For me, I was playing control and having a lot of fun trip mine sticking people. I don't know whether it was the guns i was using but i enjoyed the game (laughed at me getting triple kills with trip mines) and had a positive kd while watching Mr Fruit. As a person who has seen and played in SBMM Destiny, the 3 hours i played did not even come close to SBMM gameplay. This is my opinion. Just saying

I hate people who are cowards and claim to speak for others cause they know their own opinion matters nothing ! That is what you clearly tell the world, my opinion is shit, I need to tell you its the communities opinion, even though you never asked ! Only skilled players want this to be removed . That is for sure as i dont have any single friend who wants this to be removed. Simple as that , skill based players aka streamers etc.. want to continue to dominate against weaker players. The best thing that needs to be posted on threads like this is Get Good As you\ve been throwing this towards non skilled - old players.

All I can say is whhaaaaaaa. Did you not realize yet the pvp blows. Destiny forces people to play pvp because of quests. Take that out and you would only have you losers elite people. Guess what. Your kd will fall to 1 soon. Whaaaa

3 RepliesSBMM is a necessity due to the exotic quests. While most would argue that those items held behind high skill content is designated for high skill players, but items that help a player be better given only to those that are good serves only to widen the gap. No one likes getting wreaked match after match, so those with less skill would not participate in PvP. For whatever reason, Bungie wants all players to participate in PvP and they want it to be enjoyable. SBMM isn't the problem. The problem is in how we connect to the game. It's glitchy as shit.

If you join a match with mercy rule already in or 6v1 in IB .... What's stopping you from pulling out your ghost and going to orbit? Nothing. You probably just think you're gonna Rambo it and get mad when you get rekt. It's not that hard to leave

You all should love playing against these top 1% people. 1 it's just a game no need to cry about getting beat and 2. So much to learn. Playing sweaty matches can teach you a lot about movement and gun usage and when to do this and when to go there it's really fun. Who would want a boring match with jus 1 on 1 lame gun battling when you can out smart your opponent and kill them with a khvostov lol

Any and all credit (you had extremely little due to the massive amount of assumption and clear bias based in your opinion) was lost at that. ... L.o.L Second- I'm more annoyed at never receiving a Party Crasher in my play time that whatever you're raging about. .... So... No, you're wrong already since I disagree.

3 RepliesCan someone concisely define skill-based matchmaking for me? Obviously I know what the words mean and I have a definition in my head (that guardians are matched against other guardians based on skill level), but I don't understand why people wouldn't want that. Thank you.
