New Burn Primaries!
Bungie needs to read this. I believe all primaries should be able to add burns, minus exotics just so they don't become too OP in Burn PvE.
Anyways, primary weapons should all have a slot, just like infusion, where it requires select items to upgrade it to a burn. Example for solar.
200 Helium
5 Solarite
50 Weapon Parts
10 Motes of Light
The way to get Solarite is by rare chance I'm helium locations, just like for the exotic sword quests, or trade in 200 helium to Banshee. So you can upgrade any primary to solar burn and it does take some work.
This would allow people who prefer certain weapon styles to be able to use WHAT THEY WANT an still be useful or enjoy the way they play. Void would be Relic Iron and Arc would be Spinmetal. Just like the matching swords.
Anyone else agree?

4 RepliesBe honest. Do you miss the elemental burn much on primaries? I certainly don't as much as I thought. Also it would actually make things far more difficult as the burn weapon will be ineffective against alternate Shields. So an arc burn weapon is pointless against solar. Nope. Not missing them too much to be fair.

The least they could do is introduce two new exotic primaries to accompany the Zhalo. It's the only YR2 elemental primary. It's getting lonely as -blam!-... I want a badass weapon that does badass void and solar shit too. Don't leave Zhalo hanging in the wind.

NOOO solarite. Just add an item from endgame content that's called something like Solar/Void/Arc Core that way it makes player do raids and PoE to get those items.

Instead, Xur should sell [b]Elemental Cores[/b] that you can infuse into your weapons. They would cost [b]12 Strange Coins[/b] apiece, and you would have your choice of [b]Solar, Void,[/b] and [b]Arc Cores.[/b] Apply it to any Legendary weapon, and have fun. No need to make people grind for a ridiculous amount of resources to apply an upgrade to 1 weapon.

I said a long time ago they have an easy solution already. Etheric Light. They could make it a consumable where when applied to a weapon it applies a [i]random[/i] element to said weapon. This way you could customize with minimal grind. Plus it keeps (before update) PoE useful.

I am sorry but that equals 100 legendary marks of farming or 200 helium things in patrol that takes a long time to get, plus 5 solarite, dude it takes atleast a hour to get that much solarite. Lastly a lot of legendaries are better than some exotics, so that discouraged the use of exotics. I might sound like a complainer but dude logic is what you need. Besides burns were taken out along time ago to make stuff less dreadful . Dude I know I used dude a lot is that ok bro?

3 RepliesI like the idea of elemental burn, to be true. The best weapon loadout I ever had, bar none, was my hunter's combination of Word of Crota, Invective, and Arc Jolder's hammer. She had the combination of ranged precision, close-in devastation, and heavy firepower. That and multiple avenues to invisibility made her a PvE powerhouse. She feared no burn. She feared no shield. Other Guardians since have had more destructive weapons: Dark Drinker, Bad Juju, Gjallarhorn... but no build has ever been like that one in having no weaknesses.

Great ideas! I was thinking along similar lines with primary burns but but we would get them from a "burn synth" consumable with a cool down separate from ammo regen. I miss using mythoclast & necrochasm in y2 pve not because of the burn but just because they add variety. It seems like Bungie won't bring any primary weapon with a burn into year 2 because they think the player base won't use anything else. A burn synth could be used with any legendary or exotic.

Ok, I took sometime to think about this before replying, so bear with me. First off, I like this idea, due to the fact that you can apply this to whichever gun you love to run or suits your playing style the best. I mean face it, no matter how much Bungie wants us to explore other guns, we all have our go to, favorite guns that we use until they make our eyes bleed. I also like that it is something you have to earn to make happen. Now, for the downside that I can see. This would not be fair to the people that only play PvP. You know a few of them would be on here crying (not most or all, but it is those few that do come crying that ruin it for the other ones) about the OP PvE'ers & their elemental primaries. Also, the people that hate to grind would be upset. Now yes, we should worry about them, but squeaky wheel = grease. Next we have the Elitists, now you suddenly are not allowed on their team unless you have an elemental Touch of Malice or an elemental Doctorine of Passing, for example. Which brings folks right back to the forums to spread the salty love! So Bungie allows this & with Destiny 2, the main damage type is say, Solar burn again, but everyone is set up for Void. Well, the guns were set to either be locked to that particular burn or they reset with each burn swap you do. This has people coming back here to bitch about why can't they just swap it over, because if Bungie really loved them, they would make it less about earning this cool thing & more about giving you this. Now you have the older players (like me) on here crying about how the young whipper snappers are just handed their elemental primaries, while we had to earn it by grinding all night like a bunch of strippers & we are not strippers! (Nothing wrong with strippers, why some of my best pay checks went to strippers!) I just think that all roads lead to the Salt Flats & if I was Bungie, I would have either gone insane & started hiring people to show up at the salty players houses to shoot them with salt guns or I would be on my way to going insane over all this salt. So that is why I think it won't happen, no matter how cool the idea or well thought out.

This actually isn't a bad idea, except that people will be rerolling their primaries for whatever the nightfall is that week. This should either be irreversible or reset the weapon's xp and perks every time you change the element.
