A hawk has three big talons. I'm sure someone probably made a post about this, I haven't seen it, but I'm posting this because I found it out by myself. I was thinking "Why does hawkmoon have LiTC and then a perk that gives two extra bonus DMG shots?" And then I googled the feet of a hawk and would you look at that, three big talons per feet.
Turns out, they have four talons, but three are pretty much alined

6 RepliesEdited by Cayde Seven: 3/30/2016 5:17:22 AMOr... Hawkmoon is a reference to a Fantasy/Sorcery RPG of the same name (like D & D) in which the "skill" of the player has only a portion of control of the outcome of the game because the success of each "move" (attack, defense, etc) is dependent on the roll of the die, and therefore is heavily dependent on luck. The signature perk "holding aces" is a reference to the idiom "holding all the aces" which is a situation in which someone has the upper hand in controlling the outcome, but they achieved that position through the luck of the draw. The perks and references that the gun has are an homage to dice/chance based games and RPGs, in which luck controls a portion of the outcome of the game. But perhaps my explanation contains actual logic and references facts, so I may meet stiff opposition on this forum.

It has four. Stop spamming nonsensical hypotheses.

9 RepliesHawks have 4 Talons.... It's how they grip.

To be true to form, Hawkmoon should have what you posted, but, that only covers the 'Hawk'! The 'Moon' perc should be infinite range, instead of the visually impaired 20/800 range it has. Currently spect, HawkMoon should require Glasses to be able to hit the shooters foot, or be renamed HawkBat...

2 RepliesHawkmoon has a luck theme. Its magazine is even 13 shots. 13 is considered an unlucky number in the US.

When it first came out, the gun had the highest ammo capacity in a magazine for a handcannon. They just put in 3 lucky bullets because it had so much ammo, and I think the special thing was the lucky bullets would happen often. I don't think anyone could agree with "a hawk a 3 talons GG bungie for noticing" sort of thing.

1 ReplyHere come the people that say they knew it too but are clearly lying

13 RepliesActually hawks have 4 toes but the ones that do buisness are the hallux and the fore toe. We refer to these as the power talons in the falconry world but thanks for doing the research. I didn't even think of that and I'm a falconer.

2 RepliesIts even in the description of the gun.

1 ReplyDid you know the legendary hand cannon eyasluna translates to little hawkmoon and it's description reads "One day, young HAWK, thou shalt sail beneath the silvered MOON.
