THE DOCTRINE OF PASSING NEEDS NERF ASAP >:(

"THE DOCTRINE OF PASSING", It's this weapon that is unbalanced and it is also the most used weapon. The Doctrine of Passing literally over powers all other weapons in the short to mid range category. The "no skill" policy that most gamers no and hate is where this weapon glows in glory. It is over used to the extent that if bungie ran the numbers of all players who have a Doctrine at least got it they can see there is a mighty percentage of people using such weapon. I am really surprised that bungie isn't aware that this is the weapon that most destiny PvP players use. I do not understand how Gjallarhorn in it's hay day gets a nerf in PvE but weapons in the PvP category that are over used don't. It is easy to assume that gamers are against the Doctrine nerf. You might ask yourself why nerf it? Well that is easy guardian, in some occasions we need a balance that both the auto rifles and hand cannons meet. Now remember the Doctrine is a legendary weapon now if it out guns legendary hand cannons that should at some occasions in gun fights beat the Doctrine than there is a problem. There needs to be balance and the Doctrine needs a nerf because really it is the only auto rifle people feel comfortable and know they can out gun just about any short range weapon. It should be us gamers to play with other weapons not have to rely on one weapon, we can choose so many weapons but no one wants to because of how underpower they can be. So hopefully Bungie gets there lazy buttocks of there computer chair look into a mirror and say hey you know it's time to nerf the Doctrine of Passing.

  • Try not running blindly into CQC situations lmao awareness is the difference between good players and great players. It's really good in FR range, big whoop half the maps are more than wide enough to accommodate scouts pulses and low ROF autos. Suros eats them up, and so does hardlight. I used atheon's epilogue to get a feel for what people saw in the guns and the range is just too low for it to be unbeatable, same with the high RoF hakke auto, they're good but the range separates them from the truly op metas of the past.

    • Take the necrochasm in regular PvP and it has the same stats as the doctrine. The doctrine kicks ass and I love that auto rifle, but I do get my ass kicked a lot more by the last word users. When that happens I take my grasp of malick with head seeker out. Ya just gotta Learn how to adopt when going up against any weapon of the game.

      • People use doctrine because its good at close range, its the only close range primary able to counter a last word. Is it balanced? I think so.. It a great auto earned from going flawless in trials or simply getting a certain amount of wins to get the weaker version. Its a great gun, it has a huge falloff damage once it reaches mid range so any other gun can easily bring it down. Its an auto rifle, able to maintain fire at its supposed "intended range".. The gun is also good under the right hands, lot of people suck using it. Ive used hard light or suros and still easily beat people with doctrine at medium range. I feel doctrine should be around and strong until the last word gets nerfed or tweaked. Im tired of all the clutches people pull with a gun that 2 shots from the hip and is able to fire really fast in case you missed those 2 shots. Doctrine is not Op but used mostly because its a great counter to last word and no other auto is as good as doctrine.

          I find it funny that if someone mentions TLW needs a nerf, people flip their shit telling them to "get gud skrub". But yet, when someone says doctrine is OP, people dont bate an eye. Guess what? Doctrine still takes more skill then TLW does, at least with doctrine you have to manage the recoil. Doctrine isnt just a straight laser beam with its recoil

          • Bump!! The thing kills you at a ridiculous range given the range on it it shouldn't be able to. I agree that not even HC's can compete with it because of its high RoF. Definitely needs to be tone down.

            • They definitely need to look at damage falloff on Doctrine of Passing. I get the fast ttk at close range but it extends out into pulse rifle and hand cannon territory.
