There has only been one PVE event since launch
Why is it that? Why has there only been ONE pve event in the entirety of the game since launch while there will soon to be a total of four pvp events?
PVE: The Queen's Wrath
PVP: Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, SRL, Crimson Doubles
I know I'm going to get called out for this but this is ridiculous! Please for the love of the game have at least one other pve event.
[b]EDIT[/b]: I am NOT talking about DLC. DLC =/= events. For all of you kinderguardians out there, Queen's Wrath was a year one, completely free, week long PVE event with its own bounties and event specific armor.
The wolves and blades of Crota are also not events, they were what is known as INCURSIONS.

9 RepliesThis entire game heavily favors PVE. The only time it didn't was HOW. I mean throughout vanilla destiny and TDB it was pretty difficult to reach the max level and it took a long time for you to do it. TTK is no exception. The best way to get exotics is still the nightfall, quickest way to get marks is still the "weekly", and the most reliable way to get high light level gear is still the raid. As for the people that mention iron banner either you don't play it or want to be hard headed to prove your point because right now IB is a poor excuse of an "event". It used to be special when you could reroll only the IB weapons so they felt special but that's gone and all that's left is the tier 5 package which can give you 310+ loot. Trials also doesn't count it's a weekly playlist, if you want to stand by it and say that trials is an event then you must say that the raid is an event as well. Secondly, the Queen event sucked pretty badly the first time around. Lastly, SRL and festival of the lost are neither PVP nor PVE events they were small experiments and events for both groups.

It is getting to be a bit ridiculous. So many MMOs (which Bungie is attempting to emulate) have actual PvE events. I think it's about time we get another PvE event.

Everyone is disappointed, and that's fine, that's their right. But this far into the game, it's clear what we're dealing with. Why is anyone surprised/disappointed at this point? The table has been set.

I play mario kart with my daughter when I want to play a racing game. With that I do agree. Iron banner comes every month. Would be nice to see an equivalent PVE event.

2 Repliespretty sure pvp events are much less expensive to produce as opposed to designing ai, story missions and loot for pve. activision has a cash cow in cod..a few new maps, never more story missions. destiny is a hybrid where that model will probably fail in the long run.

Yup. I remember that event. It was a pretty cool thing at the time and we thought it was a taste of things to come. That EVENTUALLY when enough content was released it would actually be fun.

Unfortunately Bungie/Activision is only interested in catering for the PvP players, these "Timed Events" which Bungie believe makes up for lack of credible sustainable dlc release throughout yr 2 is designed to do 1 thing....raise capital through Silver purchases.

2 RepliesThere isn't much bungie can do without creating new content that will require resources, time, and extra programming to fit into destiny in its current state without bugs Even after doing so, it will be same as all previous pve "content" -learn what to do once and repeat mindlessly with zero player growth required. Still zero performance based rewards and instead relies on rng -they won't introduce new mechanics or ideas except mix and match all previous missions at most while allowing u to play it the same without fully taking advantage of destinys mechanics and real potential difficulty; devs are afraid to make new content --most of destinys players are bad, the forums underestimate how bad most of the playerbase really is so no real challenging moses are likely yo come since skolas and the aiming system didn't affect pve as much after 2.0; its much easier to aim in pve if u haven't noticed

I wouldn't consider Trials a PvP event, especially if you're going to say DLC doesn't count since it was the focus of House of Wolves. It's now become it's own playlist within the game each weekend, no different than a raid or Prison of Elders. I wouldn't consider Iron Banner an even either, since it's been rolled out since the beginning as the monthly time when power actually mattered in the crucible. I see it as no different than the incursions parts with the taken, wolves and blades of crota. That leaves the Queens Wrath (twice) and Sparrow racing so far. And sparrow racing was literally just racing, not a shooting PvP event and you were guaranteed rewards after 4 minutes of racing. This Crimson crap is a true PvP event. Festival of the Lost had both PvE and PvP parts, so who's to say there won't be portions of the even that have some PvE element like kill some stupid ass boss.

I don't know why bungie limit what this game could be to try and appease PvP players that cannot be appeased and take away my hard earned gear in the process.

I agree with your assessment on "incursions," but I would consider the initial engram-orgy at the start of House of Wolves as an "unscripted event," lol
