Why is it that? Why has there only been ONE pve event in the entirety of the game since launch while there will soon to be a total of four pvp events?
PVE: The Queen's Wrath
PVP: Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, SRL, Crimson Doubles
I know I'm going to get called out for this but this is ridiculous! Please for the love of the game have at least one other pve event.
EDIT: I am NOT talking about DLC. DLC =/= events. For all of you kinderguardians out there, Queen's Wrath was a year one, completely free, week long PVE event with its own bounties and event specific armor.
The wolves and blades of Crota are also not events, they were what is known as INCURSIONS.

Trials of Osiris is part of a DLC. Festival of the Lost was a PVE and PVP event.
-
26 RepliesThere were 2, you forgot poe

-
Festival of the Lost was for PvE and PvP.
-
2 RepliesIron banner is just part of the game, and trials is us pvp players version of raiding. Obviously there are people who do both and reap the rewards
-
3 RepliesTrials came with a dlc, like a raid.

6 RepliesIron Banner, Trials, and SRL (it is PVP, even if it's not FPS) are all free, and all have event specific gear. Two of those have bounties. Do you have to have purchased anything beyond vanilla Destiny to participate in them? Even if it's only The Taken King, that changes the next paragraph. Queen's Wrath is the only PvE event that has qualified, specifically. Although, you can argue the Vault of Glass, which was "free" with the base game. If you currently need TTK to participate in any of the PvP events, you'll have to throw in King's Fall as well. The Raids don't have specific bounties, but they certainly have gear.

4 RepliesPvE has Patrol (with "incursions"), story missions, strikes (including nightfall), court of Oryx, raids, and while it's not as relevant Prison of Elders. Crucible has been pretty much the same from the beginning only with new maps and a select few new modes that aren't always available. Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris are not events as much as consistent crucible playslists that are on rotation every month and every weekend respectively. SRL may have been competitive but it's hardly PvP in terms defined by an online FPS. It was an event that I imagine would appeal to both sides. Crimson Days seems to be the first PvP focused event and that's just an assumption based off the limited info we were given with the last update. As of right now we really don't know all that it will offer. Please tell me what you have to complain about?

3 RepliesFestival of the lost.
-
2 RepliesWe got Festival of the Lost. It doesn't compare to weekly and monthly pvp events, but we got it
-
I don't really dig the PvP focus in the new events. I would like to see some more PvE stuff.
-
Playing against the computer can get a tad boring, so there taking chances with there pvp side to drum up interest.

1 ReplyI have my OG supremacy and queens class item for my titan which has 30 defense.

its because PvP in this game is horrible. bungie wants people to play it to up their numbers. this will, i assume, convince Activision to give them more money for PvP based things. hopefully, dedicated servers. they have no issues with people playing PvE so thats why there is the lack of the PvE events. if this bias towards PvP leads to a much better PvP in the future then i am ok with it.

13 RepliesWoah, woah, woah. You're not including the blades and the wolves but your going to include ToO and Iron banner. LMFAO. Look here, iron banner isn't as much as an event as it is part of the base game. It was part of the beta. The iron banner is the pvp side of the raid. So please remove IB from your argument because it has a direct PvE counterpart. As for Trials, it was an addition to the game just like how PoE was an addition to the game. We had a the same old IB for our endgame "raid experience" and PvE had its same old raids for their endgame. PoE was a new addition to the game for an alternative endgame experience and so was ToO. They are both equal. So kindly take out ToO from your argument as well. As for the blades and wolves why don't you just put them in your argument. The wolves dropped before the DLC. And hence should be considered an event. Those two experiences are no longer present and were avail able for a limited time just like a timed event. You should consider about thinking of them as events. We are now left with SRL and Queen's Wrath (which actually happened twice). SRL is technically considered PvP but I wouldn't put it solely in our argument since Racing is different enough from destiny PvP to consider that solely PvE players can get as much enjoyment out of it as the PvP players. As I see it, the events added to this game are close to equal on both sides. The only experience tipping this whole thing over is the doubles skirmish event. Just one event (and that's if your ignorantly not counting the wolves and blades as at least partial events) So quit your sulking and play both parts of the game. I'm sure the will introduce a PvE event to tip the balance of events back over.

Edited by xRoyle: 1/26/2016 2:45:14 PMIn my opinion Regular crucible = strike playlist Trials = Raid Iron banner = Nothing comparable for PvE SRL = Not really PvP, but not really PvE either (Technically it is a PvP event, but in a first person shooter, it doesn't feel like crucible) Also a one time thing thus far. Story Missions = Place to get legendary marks = Daily Crucible Patrol = Only good for bounties, what else is there to do there... Crucible = Also used for bounties. Wolves and Blades = Part of patrol, see above. No one actually logged in and said "Hey, lets go do the awesome Blades of Crota events they'll drop awesome gear like Iron Banner or Trials does!" Queens wrath event = One time thing that happened a long time ago, and at this point and time, it really doesn't matter anymore. Festival of the Lost = Both PvP and PvE elements, but looking back was that actually a worthwhile event? Crimson Doubles = PvP but might have some unknown twist. (Sharing life? PvE type enemies in the map with you?) Hell, it might be a hugging contest for all we know. To sum it up, Trials and Raids both give guardians weekly chances to get gear and weapons. 3 of coins can be used on basically everything to get exotics. Iron Banner gives PvP a slight edge in the content category. I say this because while it is the same content as regular crucible, it does give an additional chance per month to get additional gear and weapons. But, that being said, unless you are going to wait until the last day or two, it's going to take a lot more time to get your higher level items than running Trials or a Raid. I'm not picking sides here, these are just my thoughts.

It had pvp bounties also.
-
Considering we get Iron Banner every month, only one rewarding PVE event in the life of Destiny is really sad. Bungie has no desire to communicate and respect their community.

Edited by Shmeck42: 1/26/2016 1:06:23 PMIf you wan to really get into it, there has been another PvE event. The Festival of the Lost had multiple PvE quests as well as crucible quests. Iron banner and ToO are both parts pf DLC packs/initial release. (Iron Banner from beta, ToO from wolves). It could be argued depending on your definition of event, but you ignore the wolves and the hive incursions as not events (even if they are time locked instances that no longer happen). Basically, by excluding these, you exclude ToO and IB purely on a definition basis. Its early, so this is a bit convoluted, but basic TLDR/TCDR: because you exclude events based on a weak definition of event, by your definition the only pvp event(s) would have been SRL, Queen's Wrath, and part of the Festival of the Lost. All which happened a total of once. Basically, that puts PvE and PvP on an equal lvl of events.

9 Repliestrials isn't an event its a time-locked game mode that is open every week from Friday to Tuesday morning (depending on where you live) just because you can only play it on the weekend doesn't make it an event trials is as much as an event as mayhem or inferno is. or its like saying xur is an event vendor when he is a time-locked vendor. also, look at how well the first PvE event went... not so well, why would they want to make another one that has a risk of flopping. PvP content has much more replay ability than PvE and seems to be easier to make. feel free to disagree with me.
-
3 RepliesEdited by SmashvilleViking: 1/26/2016 3:39:19 AMPvP is a lot easier to implement. But, I agree. There should be a PvE event once in a while. But, also... PvP has a lot less content than PvE. PvE gets whole new areas and missions for dlc. PvP gets a few maps, and maybe a new crucible type.
-
Even if you don't like shooting at other players, you'd like SRL. And it gave better (more consistent and plentiful) rewards than Iron Banner. Needs more maps to keep from getting old...and new rewards.
-
They should run a PvE event, then a PvP one, alternating, for every week of every month. Put it on automated rotation.
-
2 RepliesYou can't include trials because it's from house of wolves. And that's dlc.
-
1 ReplyCould've sworn ToO came from a DLC. I could be wrong though....
-
Lets have the enemy attack the tower! Between the pvp maps and the set locations bungie dont even have to build maps!
