I remember the days when my fireteam and I were going to the lighthouse almost every weekend. Now, apparently its only possible if you play the game for a F'ing living!
We range from light 302-306 and as soon as we hit 7 wins the table is flipped completely upside down. I guess bungie decided not to incorporate light level into the matchmaking? Its all about how many wins you have. Nice move guys.
So if you can't raid and you rely on trials to get the best rewards, think again, because its near god damn impossible getting to the lighthouse now.
It's funny how we only see guys around 313-316 light, and guns that are 20 light lvls higher than ours when we get that far.
Does anyone else have an issue with the new matchmaking? I feel like the best endgame activity is going downhill and its sad to see.

I think it's more fun and challenging now. My ToO team is all 302. We've gone to the lighthouse every attempt. You have to play smarter when up against higher ranks, but the damage falloff isn't even noticeable. I still 3 shot those guys with headshots, and a snipe to the head will take down a freshly revived guy. It's so much more fun playing against people that (humblebrag) don't suck and that you actually have to work together with your team to beat them. It adds a lot more excitement and angst

if you are 306 and I'm 313 that difference is not noticeable at all. However, below 300 and I'm 310 yes I will kill you with two burst. So as long you are above 305 your good to go as long you don't face a team with 315+. You just need to practice more and to be patient while attacking.

Do you even sparrow bruh?
-
Thats dumb, light lvls play almost no role in trials
-
Gimme that gold and silver rewards and those marks. Why do you need the lighthouse ? Element weapons aren't adept weapons anymore.
-
They pair you up by your wins nit your light level
-
Cries because he can't get flawless (something that shouldn't be a cake walk in the first place) Blames the ppl who are better than him I hope you know this basically means you guys aren't good, no offense lol
-
As they stated before, going to the Lighthouse should be prestigious, and not everyone can or should make it there. This is how it should have been all along. The way I see it is you have two options: elevate your game or just accept the fact you are being beat by better teams and you may not make it there.
-
Your dick must be small.
-
Lol you're mad because you can't get flawless and you blame people being just as good if not better than you all the while blaming bungie. hilarious
-
It's true Bungie made it more competitive but those light levels really aren't going to make a difference unless you and your team are below 300.
-
I've had fun with the new matchmaking. Make that final 8-0 match INTENSE
-
At 20 light level difference you only see a 5% damage difference. Only noticeable on low impact guns. All snipers still one shot headshot.

23 RepliesWidows court is a nightmare, you'll be fine on another map. I think even the best players get frustrated on Widows Court.
-
I was using a 280 hawkmoon, 170 ice breaker, 170 exodus plan, 170 bones of eao, and a 170 cloak. And I still outgunned people... Ice breaker still one hits... Light doesn't make much difference
-
If you always fought people that are the same light as you then there would be no reason to try to get a higher light level?
-
In a mode where you know power maters, it's reasonably expected that higher light players are going to do better, and that even if you're not higher light and doing well, that you would eventually run into those with higher light.
-
I find that light level doesn't make much of a difference, it's only noticeable at like s difference of 20 light, with 302-306 light you should be ok. Sure trials is harder now but it really should be.
-
You are mostly matched up with people who have the same number of wins on their card. This makes you go up against progressively better teams with every win. You're losing because you're not as good as you think you are.
-
I went flawless just before this weeks reset, I was only light level 300

Edited by OriginalMrDave: 12/9/2015 6:17:32 PMI'm 311 I've only done the hard raid once up to sisters. I'm sure if I even ran the hard raid to sisters once a week of be higher. You don't have to spend loads of time to level up, just spend the time efficiently.

2 RepliesYou pretty much just said u have to be skilled and dedicated to go to the light house... Your arguement is now invalid
-
Keep trying my friend, you will get there. No one said it was going to be easy.
-
The light level disadvantage from 10 light levels is barely noticeable and should be easy to get around from if you have some skills. Light level says little about skill
-
8 RepliesMy Warlock light lvl is 295 and i went 9-0 It all depends on skill and teamwork
-
It's not a issue I effing love the challenge of getting to lighthouse year 2 you actually have to beat great guardians to get there
