Well I WAS gonna come back
I was gonna come back to destiny to check out sparrow racing, race some friends, and earn loot in the process. Then I saw that this is just another cash grab. To think I actually thought Bungie made something free to the players especially after cashing in on microtransactions, LOL. This is the nail in the coffin for destiny, at least for me. The thing that sickens me most is they go around saying FREE EVENT IN DESTINY!! And then in small print whispering "oh but if you want any of the gear then bend over" -blam!-n Bungie man, disappointment after disappointment
Edit: I care that they add microtransactions everywhere now
Edit: People think I care if it's pay to win, I do, but that's not the point. I CARE ABOUT THE PRACTICES BUNGIE IS USING! There shouldn't be this many microtransactions in a AAA game
Edit: The problem for me lies with people accepting and glorifying Bungie for microtransactions. This glorification of a shit system could give Bungie the confidence to keep pushing the boundaries with microtransactions and yes THIS is jumping to conclusions

2 RepliesOk, but purchasing these sparrows is funding these events. See how that works? See how you're not even obligated? You get all three free goodies FOR NOTHING. Christ. When it's cosmetic goodies that fund development I'm cool with it, when it's pay to progress/pay to win then I'll agree.

Just don't buy anything. Sparrow racing in itself is a free event, with additional things to buy to fund more events like this. Some people want to support future events and some people have money to burn. I myself didn't buy any of the Halloween masks from Tess, but others made up for it.

In reality, the only thing you know is what others who, like you, jump to conclusion and are quick to let loose the tears of outrage. Vanity gear that's no better than the stuff you'll get starting the quest (althkugh help of a lot better looking). Your VoG will still be the best sparrow you can use pal.

Did you ever learn to read as a kid? They have clearly stated that the gear will be dropping, and that they purchasable sparrows with not be any faster than regular ones. The book you can buy for 1000 silver( which i admit is overpriced) is optional and the gear you get is 3 light level "vanity" gear. Tell me again how this is the "nail in the coffin"

I feel exactly the same (except the wanting to come back part). I was a little curious when I saw the announcement, but then after reading through the forums and discovering MT's are coming with it... I lost all interest.

Quit destiny for good and don't come back, leave the forums too, why not just not play the game? Why do you have to come here and make a point of it. I've never bought any silver and I don't intend to but it's part of the game so just -blam!-ing deal with it. Sparrow racing will be fun and alot of people are going to enjoy it regardless, but if all you bellends are still here in a couple of weeks again complaining about it then we will most likely not see it again and you will just ruin it for those of us who do enjoy it. Sick of this incessant complaining about aspects of the game.

You can buy sparrows that....literally do the same thing as regular sparrows. Key word is "can" the racing gear is set at a whopping 4 light. I mean...if you think it makes you better then you can buy it...if you want.

These players are consistently complaining about various aspects of the game they currently or previously enjoyed. They generally complain if they don't get something they want, or if they do. It doesn't really matter to a Pesticle, they are simply going to complain for no other reason than to obtain some attention, or validation that they wasted their time and money while spending thousands of hours on something they claim to hate. Pesticles one goal is to annoy forum members who otherwise can enjoy a forum for a game they play. They should be avoided at all costs. It is rumored that they may contract ebola, and are cancer of obnoxious proportions. This is a public service announcement.

Do you not understand how the SRL will work? The event is free and you can still earn gear by completing events and bounties. The stuff being sold is purely cosmetic. If it looks better, so what. No one is making anyone buy anything. I think everyone's problem with the micro transactions is their need for instant gratification, and they feel they MUST spend cash in the items. Personally, I will be buying some of the items being sold, if they appeal to me and not because I must have a certain item. In my opinion, this is how Destiny micro transactions should work, with the exception of RNG. It has no place in the current model.
