I was gonna come back to destiny to check out sparrow racing, race some friends, and earn loot in the process. Then I saw that this is just another cash grab. To think I actually thought Bungie made something free to the players especially after cashing in on microtransactions, LOL. This is the nail in the coffin for destiny, at least for me. The thing that sickens me most is they go around saying FREE EVENT IN DESTINY!! And then in small print whispering "oh but if you want any of the gear then bend over" -blam!-n Bungie man, disappointment after disappointment
Edit: I care that they add microtransactions everywhere now
Edit: People think I care if it's pay to win, I do, but that's not the point. I CARE ABOUT THE PRACTICES BUNGIE IS USING! There shouldn't be this many microtransactions in a AAA game
Edit: The problem for me lies with people accepting and glorifying Bungie for microtransactions. This glorification of a shit system could give Bungie the confidence to keep pushing the boundaries with microtransactions and yes THIS is jumping to conclusions

3 RepliesJust another tinfoil hat douche Nothing to see here move along people move along
-
Same thing over here, I won't give in too micro transactions (even though the air guitar is sweet) I refuse to pay even more money on this game which I've already shelled out $100+, unlike these desticle that would defend the driver of a car who just ran them over. I have more willpower than a recovering addict at a meth convention.
-
Lol it is free tho. It's just if you want more you can buy it.
-
You serious? You could buy shit if you want, but the sparrows, 320 gear, horns, emblems, and new shaders are all available to you for free.
-
How is it a cash grab, the record book is not mandatory. The cosmetics are not mandatory. If we had to pay $10 for it like a DLC then maybe but we don't. People are just looking for reasons to bash the game.
-
Well first You dont need to buy the micro transactions its just if you want it and 2 Your not really making them money unless you pay for the transactions. And you think Micro transactions makes the game turn out like shit and U havent even bought any.
-
3 RepliesYou could still come back and do some racing with some friends. You're choosing to go full negative about it.
-
1 Reply>year 1 Yep, that explains it. Another noob gamer thinking cosmetic micro ends a game
-
2 RepliesWait, what? You gotta pay to race? Man, I swore I got racing armor from completing the racing quest. I must've bought silver instead. Crazy.
-
Get ready for micro transactions hell. Not just in Destiny but in many AAA games to come. Even the new Uncharted game will have micro transactions. I don't mind so much when it's cosmetic only but usually that's how it starts, then it's something like "insurance" in MGS5, or spending lots and lots of silver in hopes that you get that cool looking skull mask from the festival...

Edited by TheRedThirst: 12/10/2015 11:32:29 PMyou dont have to spend any money, its completely free the only thing idiots are buying is a book to keep track of your records and give you extra bounties
-
12 RepliesHavent you seen COD or BATTLEFIELD. Bungie is tame compared to them
-
We all blow money on stupid crap each day.....why not silver for cosmetic items?
-
I agree
-
3 RepliesTons of cool sparrows*! Come play our free event**!
*sparrows require random roll, 5$ per roll ** 75% of loot require silver
Sparrow racing is cool. But I bought this game for the pve, playing with friends, and the story. The only thing that bungie left me with is to play with friends. Even that, most of my friends moved on due to this type of nonsense. The story, as a whole, sucks. It's not a complete story. Before you give me it's a 10 year plan bs, I've never seen a game that does not give you a full story in their initial release. Mass effect is a perfect example of a story that kept you hanging in the end of the first game. However with that, you found out what caused the collapse and all relevant information to keep you hooked. Destiny: they introduce a cool concept but fail to elaborate on it. They give you cool side stories such as crota, oryx, atheon and etc. They fail to tie everything together. Don't get me wrong, it's very fun to play destiny, but they aren't really leaving people praising the story. It's kind of disappointing because the mechanics is truly fun.

1 Reply1. Bungie gives you 2 free sparrows through quests. If you can't win a race you don't deserve a free sparrow. 2. The only gear you can't get for free is the momentum set. Sorry if you're jealous I could afford $10 for flashy racing gear.
-
Lol dude, finish the quest line and u get a free random sparrow kit. Even without it, ur current sparrow is the same as every other sparrow.
-
2 RepliesIt is free. Nothing you can buy gives any advantage.
-
4 RepliesIts an iphone game on the console
-
1 ReplyYes because micro transactions are such a new concept for console game nowadays.
-
Aw poor baby can't afford 20$ :(
-
2 RepliesIf you care about the practices Bungie are using, then you care that the microtransactions exist at all. That they could (key word there) become pay to win. They have not. And honestly, these microtransactions are a lot less obnoxious than you're making them out to be. Even Halo 5's microtransactions are more in your face. They ask you if you want to use real money every time you select a REQ pack that can be bought with points. Bungie tucked the microtransactions behind a menu you had to WILLINGLY, OF YOUR OWN AVAIL activate to begin with.
