I was gonna come back to destiny to check out sparrow racing, race some friends, and earn loot in the process. Then I saw that this is just another cash grab. To think I actually thought Bungie made something free to the players especially after cashing in on microtransactions, LOL. This is the nail in the coffin for destiny, at least for me. The thing that sickens me most is they go around saying FREE EVENT IN DESTINY!! And then in small print whispering "oh but if you want any of the gear then bend over" -blam!-n Bungie man, disappointment after disappointment
Edit: I care that they add microtransactions everywhere now
Edit: People think I care if it's pay to win, I do, but that's not the point. I CARE ABOUT THE PRACTICES BUNGIE IS USING! There shouldn't be this many microtransactions in a AAA game
Edit: The problem for me lies with people accepting and glorifying Bungie for microtransactions. This glorification of a shit system could give Bungie the confidence to keep pushing the boundaries with microtransactions and yes THIS is jumping to conclusions

Edited by r o b b i e: 12/12/2015 4:59:10 AMHow is a free event that you don't need to pay a dime for, a cash grab?

It's actually fun tbh, coming from a player who wasted mad money. It didn't look promising until I tried it and it's fun. Like its fun, you can do it without anyone like talking smack or nuting.

Itsoptionalto pay

the micro transaction is for purely cosmetic gear, and the helmets that you can get from it start at 3 light level. Its literally no different that people spending money for the exotic class items

What a dumbass lol

2 RepliesEdited by Talen Card: 12/11/2015 11:28:48 PMJust play, don't buy. Wicked fun. Got 308 helm, 306 mark so far, been stuck at 298, now finally over 300.

1 ReplyI've played SRL and didn't buy a single thing from eververse.
-
Why even use money when you get a legendary like every 3 games?
-
The only buyable gear is one subpar shader and a set of terrible racing armor. The two sets of armor and six free shaders are great.

I have to assume people who say things like "there shouldn't be microtransactions in a AAA game" have never played a game that continues to grow and change after release (like an MMO) The people making the new stuff have to get paid somehow. DLCs are an option, and bungie tried that in year 1. Maybe it was good, maybe not. Now they are trying microtransactions instead of DLCs. Maybe it'll be good, maybe not. Time will tell. But either way, the people working on the content that is coming up have to be compensated, and the company is in business to make money. The great thing about microtransactions is you don't have to buy them.
-
correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the biggest MMO's typically have micro transactions? I know WOW does. I'd call that a AAA title

How is it a shit system? We get stuff more often, and you get free content, even if you choose not to buy silver. Stop being a child and use your brain. You are benefitting from this. Especially if you dont buy silver. How do people not understand this? Thats like a guy showing up at your house with a free six pack because there are three alchoholics in your neighborhood. Nobodys going to say no to that, or wonder where its coming from.

2 RepliesEdited by Toketotem: 12/11/2015 3:21:43 PMThe fact you can get loot from it, that is not just for racing, infuriates me. Get this shit out of my shooter. Anything with loot chances people will flock to. Remember the loot cave. Let people stare at a rock for 3 hours for an exotic chance, and hundreds of thousands of people would do it. What's next a fishing mini game? Grrrrrrrrrr

1 ReplyCan you guys let this post die?

2 RepliesDude, the people have to make money some how.
-
It isn't pay to win, you dont gain an advantage over anything by buying the book. Everything you get from the book is in line with the million helmets and boots your get for drops.
-
The shitty gear is 3 light.. You still get armor and a sparrow from the quest. When you level up holiday you get a toolkit which contains legendary gear. Tess' stuff if only optional.

1 ReplyYou have been missed. Please reconsider and come back.

Edited by The Warrior: 12/11/2015 3:40:01 PMIt's a company breh. Companies are designed to make money, in the grand scheme of things this is very low on the dick moves pulled by companies to get money from consumers Comcast Opec Wireless carriers Etc... All -blam!- you in the ass with no vaseline much worse on a daily basis You don't need to spend anything on silver and they're giving out free produces that cost some of us silver. Gaming is relatively cheap entertainment and hasn't increased in price for years. Get over it and pick and choose your battles

2 RepliesDude if people want to waste their money on microtransactions then let them its their money I got slow clap from a nightfall this week that others have paid for I couldnt give a rats ass what others choose to spend their money on
-
2 RepliesWhat? i've gotten full Legendary gear just from racing and completing quests. The optional microtransactions don't affect this at all. I swear I think I'm done going on these forums. The people who are in game are a lot less bitchy then most of you keyboard warriors.
