For those that have completed halo 5 campaign, surely you can empathise with me when I say, this is one of the worst endings I've ever witnessed for a game with a seemingly good story to begin with.
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
This is what happens in the end mission:
(Catch up; cortana is evil. All you need to know)
> free Master Chief (As locke) from Cortana
> Cortana teleports away
> cortana terrorises earth in mass EMP
> basically your whole 'crusade' is pointless
> heroes survive
> story ends with chief and locke walking into a tent.
> unsc infinity warps away leaving earth (I think its earth, a populated planet anyhow) vulnerable
> Screen goes black.
> Credits.
THERE IS NO POINT TO THIS STORY OTHER THAN SAVING MASTERCHIEF (yeah he's kinda important) but literally nothing you do in the end effects the outcome of what would happen if you simply didn't bother.
Its late, I'm fuming and cant be arsed reading over what I just wrote. Ignore Grammar mistakes.

2 RepliesSo hype for Halo 6 let's go
-
2 RepliesI was upset with that too. Such a cliffhanger as well
-
inb4 343 announced a 10 year game plan for Halo 5 and promises to answer all the questions in the future DLC's because #competitive (also because the game took a log time to download and takes up a lot of space, because we wanted to have a bunch of stuff almost ready to go, but we weren't ready to release it in a release date, so it's just going to be in future DLC content)
-
5 RepliesHalo 4 was okay I guess. But when I saw halo 5, I thought of the halo 4 campaign, but slightly better. Either way, the ending was terrible…
-
2 RepliesKinda like how the ending of halo 2 was?
Where you kill a prophet and tartarus, and ends on a massive cliffhanger? And nothing you really did in halo 2 did much for the story? Don't get me wrong, I loved halo 2, but just like halo 5, it was a massive dick tease of a cliffhanger.
-
You forgot that we see that Cortana seems to get control of a ring world/halo. But yea the ending was a bit bland.
-
Ive only played missions up to 7-8 so I haven't played enough to have a strong opinion either way yet. I will bump this post though because of the fantastic title
-
11 RepliesThey also never finished the halo 4 weekly story mission. spec ops I think they were called. Prometheans took that 1 guy and they never finished it
-
It's the intro to the new saga (halo 4 doesn't count). Nothing you do in it will matter in halo 6.
-
Idk. I really enjoyed the campaign and it set up Halo 6 well. Anything could happen next game. I'm really hoping to see some flood. But the multiplayer is top tier amazing. Everything is so crisp and sounds great. There is no "that was bullsh*t I got a headshot", no dying 3 seconds after you kill the dude, if you lose a gunfight you know you lost fair and square.
-
Fun fact in raders of the lost ark. India Jones never is inconsequential to the story Also f u big bang theory for runining that film for me
-
Well the halo hate didn't take long :p
-
343 industry can suck my warm balls thinking they made the perfect halo game. They take a dump first and then they come up with a idea to the game after wiping and flushing.
-
They really couldn't let Cheif die? No respect for 343.
-
End Credit Scene: Evil Cortana is humming a tune as a Halo comes into view and begins to light up blue meaning she has control of the ring. This can only be seen on legendary.
-
did anyone really expect anything from 343? I mean really did Halo4 teach you nothing?
-
Best part was where chief whooped Locke's ass

4 RepliesEdited by Sarge-412: 10/29/2015 6:26:06 AMThe story was good. Not award winning stuff, but I liked it. I do not like, however, how they left it at a cliffhanger. It's such an out, there was absolutely no need for it. Also, very disappointed there wasn't any sort of continuation of the Spartan Ops storyline, aside from the books and comics.
-
1 Reply...it is the middle entry. That is how middle entries work. I loved it.
-
Oh I'm sorry they didn't give you the entire story in one game. What did you expect? It's a great campaign. Story was good. Just wait till halo 6
-
1 ReplyWas this the legendary ending?
-
1 ReplyDo you know what a cliffhanger is? Thats what it sounds like to me, destiny is a long term project so maybe 343 are simply taking their time with the halo story aswell, building it up? so to speak.
-
2 RepliesDid you play halo 2? Halo 5 is doing something similar. Halo 6 will likely be the end of halo, so they're taking 5 to set up the monumental conclusion. Calling it now, chief will die.
-
It gets the job done at least...can't bïtch about that
-
I'm curious as to why cortana is acting the way she is. Is her rampancy really cured? Has the didact taken over and is using her image to get to chief? Perhaps something worse is coming and she is doing this to prepare (the return of the flood?)
-
The entire story was awful. There wasn't even any basic character development. They had an amazing universe for the setting of their story and they wasted it. On a side note: The multiplayer's great.
