What's the first game that at the time you considered basically "perfect"?
Name the game, what system it was on, and any commentary around your thoughts.
Mine was Super Mario Bros. 3 for the original NES.
EDIT: great suggestions everyone. There are definitely a few on here I never got to play that I'll have to go back and try to get to!
EDIT 2: looking like Halo 3 and Star Wars Battlefront II are the leaders (halo is ahead if you consider all Halo as a franchise). One not mentioned, but all these great ideas got me to thinking about was Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy for ps2. Fantastic rpgs if you've never played them

1 ReplyHard to say. I want to say either Mass Effect or Elder Scrolls 4. Oblivion was the first ES I played, and Mass Effect was like the new Star Wars at the time. For indie games, I have to say Dust: An Elysian Tale. Impressive game considered it was made by one guy. When I found that I was like, holy shit.

1 ReplyHmmm... Interesting question. I think the closest to perfect game I've ever played is final fantasy 9 or perhaps ratchet and clank crack in time. But those aren't even "perfect" I think that's impossible for a video game.
