Edit: I guess Bungie has revealed the "something better " for year one players.
Final edit:this post was originally about the "something better" that DeeJ tweeted/posted about for year one players. It appear that it is a new GHOST SHELL, SHADER, EMBLEM, and SPARROW.

Awhile back, when the community was in an uproar over the price packages for the taken King, DeeJ tweeted or posted in the community update (the comment has since been removed) that year one players would receive "something better" than the emotes, etc.
This was in addition to the VIP year one package, because at the time the VIP package was already revealed. I would really like DeeJ to answer the question in regards to the something better. I would like to see this thread stay relevant until he answers the question.
I am also sending DeeJ a tweet everyday asking him this question. Let's not harass DeeJ though, okay.
I am NOT saying that year one players do or do not deserve anything special, so please, let's not turn it into an argument over that.
I am simply seeking an answer to what DeeJ put out there to calm the storm.
So DeeJ, is there still a "something better", or was that said just to calm the storm? If you can't say what it is just yet, can you al least acknowledge that it still exists, and maybe when it can be revealed?

Edit 1: Seems like the consensus is the moments of triumph emblem. I contend that this emblem was always a part of Bungie's plan (to keep people playing) and they are conveniently using it as the "something better".
Something better shouldn't have a bunch of requirements, in my opinion.

Edit 4: many people are suggesting the VIP rewards. Maybe it is, I thought they were announced before the "something better " statement. I may be wrong. Bungie has not said what they are doing for the people who bought the collectors editions. They did say information to come shortly. Whatever shortly means, I don't know.

3 RepliesYeah I referenced that in this post when they came out about their new guns. That's what the weapon balancing announcement was for. It was to distract the notoriously short attention spans of the community from the fact they never announced anything. They got away with it too. They never had to announce anything other than what they already had. Hell just today in their twitch announcement video they showed that they didn't actually get rid of the light system after saying that they were going to a purely xp based system. It still is entirely based on your gear.

I just want to point out that there is "something special" going to be announced during tomorrow's stream. Maybe that's what it is, and they hadn't announced it yet because it took longer then they thought to make it.

Everton already knew about the VIP rewards thing. If that was the reward, then they practically lied to our faces. Giving us something we already knew about, much like their lackluster dlcs, smh

3 RepliesHonestly, I wouldn't worry about it. The content we are getting for 40 bucks is amazing, they probably could have charged $60. We shouldn't ever feel like we, "deserve or expect" something else on top of what we are purchasing. They are selling us a product that we purchased, and this product is ever growing and changing in between DLC's, Expansions, and sequels. So we get quite a bit more than we paid for as is. Just keep that in mind.
