Before someone comments on how "that is part of it", let me lay out the current dilemma we are facing. People are coming to terms that they feel like they'll never get the chance to do the aspirational content and thus by monday we may get a peak under 40k in steam, so how can this be remedied relatively soon? Having people lose a 5k setup in most likelyhood makes it so the ammount of consequential runs one can do is highly limited, not even deluxe packs are accounted for this. So given the stuff people already lose, making them lose keys that are hard to get as it is in 1 single bad run will make a lot more leave. As we know, this also means they most likely wont come back in a later season, leaving a small group of only sweats in an unsustainable income model as from that small ammount, how many will buy skins or BP to makeup for dev cost? I get the feeling this proposal isnt even the biggest potential change because of how aggressive the community is when playing, making me think Bungie may even be considering more extreme changes like some kind of safe pocket. All Im proposing is the 1 item to be refundable to make people see their Cryo runs as an investment of potential gain where they may lode the rest of their gear but they know their keys will be there. Of course after you defeat the compiler there is the issue of all that loot probably getting rated the next immediate match and that also pushing players away but that is something Bungie knows more about than me to do something about it.
