(Some) Unaddressed Topics More Important Than RAD Rework

First off, I think a RAD rework is needed and sounds amazing. Would love to get Eyasluna yet again (I don't say that sarcastically; it's genuinely one of my favorite guns and Unrelenting/Headstone is such an underrated perk combo) but there's so many issues that just have not been addressed or even talked about. That said, I don't think it should be a priority (I say that as someone who has Rivensbane, Enlightened, Fatebreaker, Descendant, Kingslayer, Wrathbearer and Godslayer along with quite a few solo flawless dungeon completions.. not exactly Esoterrick but I think I've put in the time to say I'd be part of the community most interested in a RAD rework). Here's some issues I could come up with in just 10 minutes, organized loosely in like-minded categories: - Self-cannibalizing content (portal killing majority of the game, anything not expressly in the Portal is extremely hard to queue for). - Increased segmenting/compartmentalization of existing playerbase; "play your way" sounds very nice on paper until you're limited to only 3 activities a day (6-man activities are EXTREMELY inconsistent - you either breeze through it, load into a meandering lobby with 0 revives or best of all queue solo into Astral Alignment *shudders*). Honestly feel like the Portal needs to be walked back or entirely revamped at this point; there's no saving it. - Progression for certain things is effectively soft-locked (can't do activities like Dares for Forerunner/Dares Red Borders, Wellspring for WQ Red Borders or Exotic Glaive chases, Excision for post-TFS story content consistently or at all because they have no updated rewards for extrinsic motivation to get people who have already completed these things into them... also no Portal menu option = content doesn't get played by majority of the playerbase). - Old campaign steps like having to run The Scarlet Keep is still a VANGUARD ACTIVITY. Meaning YOU WILL QUEUE BY YOURSELF most likely. Same goes for things like The Lightblade in The Witch Queen and The Glassway from Beyond Light. THIS FEELS VERY BAD. I imagine this is the case from Shadowkeep to The Final Shape with matchmade activities. Edit: Another pain point is FOMO has been introduced to the main game. Before, this was tolerated as it was limited to seasonal activities like The Dawning or things like Rite of the Nine. Currently there's no way in the game to get items like Rose, Bushido armor pieces, Mint Retrograde and more. We were told there would be an acquisition source added... eventually:tm:. There is yet to be an acquistion source for Portal 1.0 items or lost vendor/activity items. - Upgrade Material economy in shambles; near-impossible to get Enhancement Prisms (purples) or Ascendant Alloys (weapon crafting upgrade) but you're showered in Ascendant Shards/golf balls at higher tier activity completions. About the only consistent and "fast" way to get Enhancement Cores is to either buy them from Xur or from the vendor on Tharsis Outpost (f2p players are kind of bent over). Weekly rewards are at least kind of decent but the inherent flaw is just that; they're weekly. 2 guaranteed Enhancement Prisms every 7 days is rough (not asking for one every time I dismantle a weapon but a better chance from activity completions would be nice). - MANY world destinations and campaigns have HIGHLY OUTDATED loot tables. It's not expected to make them all capable of giving 5* loot for just doing normal mode campaign but it FEELS VERY BAD to get old armor values on the new armor system. - We were told Marathon would not have a negative impact on Destiny 2's development cycle. I think it's safe to say that anyone with a half-functioning brain can piece together Shadow and Order was not worked on at all during the Marathon delay to prevent the game from launching as a dumpster fire (bonus points to the Marathon dev who more-or-less said "we're not gonna take the sauce out of the game" when someone showed off a Portal-esque re-imagining of the Marathon interface; I didn't realize you guys were cool like that to self-burn). Edit: Facetiousness aside, I included this bullet point because it shows a lack of accountability/responsibility for existing leadership. The fact Marathon wasn't even officially released yet and got a roadmap when Destiny players are still flying blind and begging for one is a bit of a middle finger.

 • Of course this immediately gets down voted into oblivion because why wouldn't it on the forums.

 • I agree with this. For me, the thing Destiny has lost post of all except the very non descriptive term ‘magic’ is loot. Not so much volume or quality of loot. But specific loot from specific activities. Nightfalls need specific loot etc. The portal took away activity specific loot. Most of this is now redundant if you want to go back and earn it and the update will address that slightly (should have released at EoF though). But we need more. The portal can be world drops. Comp needs a suite of weapons (good PvE ones). Gambit needs updated weapons and relevance. Onslaught needs to be a separate playlist with updated and new loot. And when I mean loot I also mean ships, ghosts, armour - not things kept back for eververse. Destiny use to be about completing specific activities for specific things and then using them in other activities to help earn that loot. We have lost that pretty much entirely.
