It’s not often I am wrong… but I was wrong about marathon

Now I’ve got into the planetary materials, free kit grind I’m actually starting to enjoy the game a little more… starting to feel a little more base power… not sure I could stomach doing this every 3 months but meh…

There’s only so much sweating I can do without permanent progress and the current cosmetic appeal just isn’t there. I’ll check out each season, but the first one is probably the only one I’ll push to “complete”.

    • It's currently number 31 on Xbox game sales in march & it's number 101 on time played. This doesn't look good

    • I don't think I'd ever consider Marathon to be a "bad game" just more like, there's better games I could play.

    • More power to you. It's holding the numbers it had, it's really weird seeing the hate videos & the defence videos & they're both very very wrong. Regardless of numbers no one knows what success looks like outside of Sony, it's more to do with retaining players & enticing those players to spend Vs cost of maintenance & progression & whether the juice is worth the squeeze. I suspect edge of fate did well because it was done on a shoestring budget & hit 3/4 million day 1. I think renegades was a huge flop, numbers barely moved & huge star wars licencing fees. I think marathon is likely right in the middle, possibly 1m sales is a decent player base, holding them is everything.
