Worst weekend in Trials for years
If this the future of trials after marathon is released you may as well just turn the servers off now.

Marathon numbers peaked 3 days ago. Record lows for D2 this weekend as well. People are playing other, better games.

I only played 16 matches, felt pretty much normal to me for this season. Lower population overall, lower interest in trials mid season... saw a lot of the same names in a few matches. Had some games where there was clear desync between my player and the others (like half second delay). I just feel that the game is just trying to find a match, even if its not a good quality match. I often get that desync in control, which is why I stopped playing control, because there is not enough focus on connection since it searches for skill first. I dont usually see it in trials though, but the "host" was probably on the other side of the planet from me for those matches.

Edited by starcrest: 3/2/2026 11:17:17 AMWell, I think all the super sweats must have got their trials passage on Saturday and moved over to control on Sunday, as Saturday was a little sweaty in control but Sunday was a joke. I'm getting closer and closer to the point when I stop playing altogether as there are few games now when it feels like a fair match, and even fewer games when I am not in a rage, it's not healthy. 😥

I'm a glutton for punishment and will take as many losses as necessary on my way to the lighthouse, but it was god awful laggy. Don't know whether it's just bad connections or net limiting, but I was slower than normal in game, always half a second behind what was on the screen and the competition was slip sliding away moving like they were all on speed. As soon as I got my 7 wins and switched to comp, I could move at normal speed and actually have some playable matches. I mentioned elsewhere that I recently found out PC players are using net limiting in PvE content as well and I think this widespread cheating is lagging up the game for everyone else. I believe the answer is to stop forcing us to enable cross-platform matches. I would love to limit all my matchmaking to the same platform to eliminate a lot of the monkey business.
