I still have a long-standing gripe with Destiny 2, and it only gets more frustrating over time: the steady decline in armor aesthetics.
Yes, there have been a few solid sets here and there, but let’s be honest, most of the best-looking armor in D2 is reprised. The Crota glowing ornament sets, the knight-styled Hunter set, a handful of Solstice pieces, and the Taken King-inspired Ghosts of the Deep armor all stand out… but they stand out because they echo a design philosophy Bungie no longer seems willing to fully commit to.
And for Hunters especially, nothing in D2 has ever come close to the Wrath of the Machine raid armor with the red glowing ornament. That set wasn’t just stylish, it was iconic. It felt aggressive, alien, and powerful in a way modern armor sets rarely do.
I’ve accepted that Wrath itself may never return. But at the very least, I wish Bungie would bring back the armor and its ornaments. Because that set represents an era where raid gear actually felt like it came from the raid, not just another themed cosmetic.
Wrath armor will always hold a special place in my heart, and honestly, it still sets a standard that Destiny 2 hasn’t managed to surpass.

1 ReplyHonestly if they brought that raid to D2 and leave it almost as is I would definitely get back into raiding. Bring back the weapons and armor, I'm not all that worried about a new exotic but yeah port it over to D2 please.

6 RepliesIt's funny that we're here again. Personally, I'd like to see both the raid and the gear reintroduced.
