Very Excited for New Players to get Exotic Class Items from Eva!
This makes me very happy to see an alternative way for players, both new and seasoned, to obtain the exotic class item!
Still encourages running Dual Destiny, because without it the attunement won't work, but still a big W for Bungie on this one!

For every player who made a whiny post on the forum regarding the requirements to get the exotic class item - how many remained silent, anonymous, and did not care? There are a lot of rank 6 players in the game. Including myself. I do not care if I reach rank 7. I have no desire to run content that requires coop. I have no desire to use LFG, join another clan, etc. I did not/do not care about the exotic class item. Now that it is accessible to my play style - I will do the event. I will now get the exotic class item. I will then play content I have abandoned to farm rolls. I will then play around with my builds and loadouts. I will be taking a hard look at the ornaments. This has rejuvenated existing content for me. This simple act will keep me active with the game. I doubt that I am the only one.

As a solo player who actually enjoyed playing the Dual Destiny mission on each of my 3 characters, I can honestly say that I am also eager for this. I will definitely try to grab a few rolls, but I am also eager for those who don't want to or can't (for any reason) play the mission. I do feel this is a big win for players and the game needs more of this. I can also understand the whole elitist "I earned my 'x'" mentality. Those who have the mindset of just wanting to reply "skill issue" or "get good." To them I have to say, are you really so concerned with the size of your E-peen that you're willing to shut down the fun of others if they don't want to "man up" and match your pain?

4 RepliesThis change was only made because they are hemmoraging players, otherwise why tie it to a 2 week long event that leaves the game? They don't care about these players they just want them to log in lol.

That's good to hear. I don't use any of the class items on my warlock over getaway artist or rimecoat raiment, but there's some really good rolls.

1 ReplyIt's messed up how they complained so much they're getting a handout while we had to bust ours just to unlock it, etc. Now all they gotta do is spend 2500 candy and a legendary (spooky) engram to get an exotic class item then buy more from Xur.

4 RepliesAmazing. When people, including myself, supported the idea that solo players get an alternative option we were met with a list of reasons why that couldn't happen. It would divert resources away from more important things, take years to rewrite the duo mission, and cost gazillions of dollars. Or they could just do this. :) Anyway, the game is now totally ruined for the elite players that get their digital loot "the right way".

I think this is as good of a time as any to say that Destiny will never be the next FFXIV. That's why it feels so bland to me. If I want to feel good from learning mechanics in a game, I'll play FFXIV. If I want to just have a good time shooting aliens and progressing towards things casually, I'll play Destiny. I'm actually having a blast doing things more casually and using Fireteam finder to get dungeons done etc.

A majority have already done the mission in the first place to unlock the class items so all this change has really done is proven that if enough of the minority cries for a few months then bungie will just cave in to them. How long until the same people whine enough about dungeon and raid exotics to the point that they just make it so they can be earned from any source? I can bet there will now be a ton of posts after the event about why they should have to run the mission to attune what they want.
