They just arent feasible enough for neither pve or pvp. How long will that remain?

With all the weird nerfs they took, they just aren’t viable. Sucks, but nothing we can do about it.

Edited by Althanash: 10/6/2024 1:55:05 PMDepends on the bow and the content imo. In PvP they never should have been touched. Felt like you were already trading off a lot by using a bow......now it's all or nothing with them.

1 ReplyEdited by shero4001: 10/6/2024 4:12:34 AMWe all know what the real lost child here is the way bungie treat it player base when it comes to thing we the player actual want in game to improve it and draw new players who want to stay and enjoy the game. But yes bows did get hit hard since wish ender was so op bungie like yeah nerf them all.

1 ReplyEdited by Soul_Eater_42: 10/5/2024 6:24:16 PMYeah, I still use bows, but damn they died down fast after the nerfs. I see no one using them in PvE or PvP anymore. Wish-Ender is still good in PvE, though, and lately, I've been using Ticuu's in Crucible. It's a rather underrated bow.

Just play like Hynra and -blam!- the haters. Bows are dead for the casual and good players. Or you play like a god or you dont play it all, with sbmm am punished for playing good, so I prefere not to play. I left this -blam!- show, now I just watch the circus burn.

2 RepliesAs long as there bad in pvp That must never change

Good should have never been in the game

bows, scouts, snipers.. they are typically long distance weapons and most maps are just too small to really have a good use for them. Occssionally they arn't horrible options but, there are usually far better ones out there for whatever you are doing.

20 RepliesI've gotta admit... I haven't missed bows in PVP. They slow the game way, way down. I hate having bow players on my team, because they don't push, and I hate having bows on the other team, because they sit and hide. The playstyle that bows excel at is, in my opinion, the single most boring playstyle in the game. That playstyle is why I think EVERY mode needs an objective, like a capture flag, that forces pushing and aggressiveness. On the other hand... Bows come with huge tradeoffs. They SHOULD excel in certain situations. The biggest counter to bows are snipers, so maybe bows can get buffed after snipers get buffed.

3 RepliesGood. They don’t belong in destiny.

1 ReplyPvP wise yea they’re buns and bow swaps are still the only way to go. PvE wise they aren’t that bad with the right rolls and the exotics clap

1 ReplyHopefully forever. Bows are lame as hell.

Edited by CHAN9E: 10/7/2024 1:29:35 PMSoloed Encore with wishender.. That bow is legit

The issue with bows in pve is that hand cannons basically took over. In order to make hand cannons good they had to make them hit stupidly hard to the point they deal almost as much as a bow but you can fire like 4 hand cannon shots (More depending on the frame) before a 2nd arrow shot. Hand cannons are almost like a special weapon with how much damage they can deal against majors and red bars and so it'd be tough to balance bows around hand cannons since if you make them stronger well now they're overpowered but if you don't touch them hand cannons remove any use for em.

1 ReplyI still enjoy bows sometimes…

2 RepliesJust require aim now in PvP can’t be that mad

23 RepliesThey still two tap in pvp.

Would love a pve buff… long may they stay banished from PvP
-
Truth ..I feel like they're more like slingshots anymore.

Edited by Tatsuya: 10/6/2024 2:50:43 PMIm fine with the 2 headshot requirement, as they deal a lot of damage, but what really sucked from the nerf was the aim assist changes. Feels like even when I hit the head at a distance, the game doesn’t even register it anymore. Can get quite annoying at times.

I agree with you completely. For PVE > I don't see the excuse as to why they aren't made viable.. bows are an interesting and fun different weapon that I never thought I would like and its just strange to not fix them for PVE. They feel slow and range limited and terrible.. also I dont really care about exotics.. why not the legendary bows.. why not at least fix them? For PVP > It was the exotics that was causing the problems.. they were and even now Ticcu.. they make the game not fun.. fine then > fix that.. take those exotics out of PVP.. nerf them.. if bows are still considered an issue why not make a weapon specific rotator.. or someplace (target range.. gauntlet..etc) where we can use them? Their range feels so bad now too.. bows added a lot of variety to the game.. we need them back edit > btw the bow state made the solstice event even worse.. laughable because you would think they would be dropping this new bow at a 5:1 rate vs other weapons for some reason.. instead it shows a lack of coordination amongst D2 teams.. that one baffles me -
4 Repliesin pve the only way i use them is with double or triple reload mods on my gauntlets. it is fine, unless your using your gauntlet mods for some elaborate build.
-
Bows are good in pve but they are the most annoying to use with the whole draw time stuff. I don’t use them unless I have a specific reason
-
I think the biggest problem with them is bungie has hit them with so many mini nerfs ment for pvp that they now have no forgiveness and basically require 100% perfection for them to be viable. I mean they used to have a 60-70 meter range (now 30-40) and while range doesn't effect damage like other weapons, it drastically effects accuracy and aim assist. They also increased the damage fall off for non-perfect draws, so missing that two-thenths of a second window for a perfect draw can really hurt you damage cause you to need a 3 tap instead of a 2 tap in pvp. Then they also increased draw time for precision frames, and greatly reduced handling. I would be fine with them as is, but in exchange, I think arrows should apply stat penalties and have a small bleed effect while they embedded. Maybe reduced mobility, weapon handling, and reload By 10% and add a 1 HP bleed effect for 5 seconds.
