Adding meta and 4th wall breaking elements to the narrative are a big mistake.
We didn't need darkness powers at all, there is still so much to be explored with The The Light.
Mara Sov, doesn't work as space Galadriel/God-Empress of Aowken kind. I've never once bought her shtick. It feels like both she and a writer are trying to hard.
Season of the Splicer, wasn't enough. The crises that forced an Alliance between the fallen and the last City should have been expansion worthy.
The Golden Gun, is a poor super in play and never lived up to The lore.

Totally agree about Season of Splicer's storyline deserving an expansion treatment. It would've been awesome to have cutscenes of named NPCs, like Shaxx, with history with the Fallen involved in some way or another. I dislike that all the interesting stuff was happening in the background or lore books. Like that season marked the end of the factions and the impact of that wasn't felt at all. Imagine missions focused on stealth, where we're spying on the factions or infiltrating the Future War Cult headquarters to uncover their plans. Idk, that would've made it so much cooler and at least make us truly see why the factions were acting against the vanguard. It being a season felt too rush for how significant the story of us partnering with the Fallen after countless mutual deaths is to the last city and us Guardians. A wasted opportunity that will forever make me sad.

The alliance should be happening during Lightfall.
