Zavalas ghost is hit by a sniper round, much like caydes.
Only difference i can think of is the 3 shots in scorn crossbows versus the single shot of a cabal sniper rifle
Defending factors are that ghosts posess their own shields, low power shielding that can withstand up to 2 hits before they become vulnerable
What i dont particularly get is how zavalas ghost survived, hell, it looks like crow even crushes it in whatever attempt at however tf he hit the ground all gut punched like
Or, was that like a transmat thingy and crow just force particalised zavalas gjost back into his pocket? Or is crow able to manipulate paracausal children as a side effect of his actions with the ascendant plane and scorn
So many pathways
One things for sure, if our guardian doesn't start putting ghost away during hostile cutscenes, we will likely see our ghost killed either by our haste or by our inability to be hasty
Perhaps not visually, light may be shed in the lore books on how our own tomb came to be needed

Because cayde's ghost got shot by a thorn round. Zavala's ghost got shot by a future version of a T shirt launcher.

7 RepliesIt was hit by a light suppressing cage. Not a sniper round. If the Psion wasn’t stupid it could have bopped Zavala’s ghost easily.

Edited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 3/20/2022 8:28:09 PM
Zavalas ghost is hit by a sniper round, much like caydes.
It was shot by a light suppressing attachment, derived from the technology Ghaul used on the traveler using the same kind of device (but obv bigger)
it looks like crow even crushes it in whatever attempt
no, Crow crushed the device that was attached to the ghost, it was plain as day to see, Crow didn't crush Zavala's ghost

3 RepliesSundance, Cayde’s Ghost, was killed by a Devourer Round, the same type of bullet that weapons of sorrow like Thorn and ToM use. They shred through light like a hot knife through butter and drain it from their victims, which is why Sundance was ohk’d. But it’s very hard for Non-Hive or Guardian beings to get their hands on them, which is why the Assassination of Cayde was such a special case of a final death. Zavala’s Ghost was hit with a Light-Supression round, similar to the cage put on the Traveler in the vanilla campaign. The round itself is non-lethal to the Ghost, but it traps, contains, and severs the light connection between a Guardian and their Ghost. So Zavala’s ghost was fine, but Zavala was in danger of being killed for good since he was temporarily cut off from the light.

Caydes was shot by thorns thorn

It was a light suppression round. So they could kill Zavala and his ghost couldn’t res him.

2 RepliesZavala’s voice actor still has an active contract with Bungie so his ghost has plot armor which allowed him to survive. Zavala should have been killed off a long time ago. Biggest stick-in-the-mud in the game.

Targe, Zavala’s Ghost, was hit by a the same technology that was used on the Traveler in the Red War. It was a “cage” that cut off all light coming in and out of the Ghost. Crow just peeled the Cage off and freed Targe.
