And mostly not by nerfing the already low quality loot pool we already have. They bless us with taking away sunsetting only to curse us by rendering guns useless some people still love to use.
Devs put their hand in all the wrong things

Personally speaking, I'm so tired of Mods for specific Weapons to use against Champions. This is so annoying... For Every High Power Activity where there are Champions, me and my friends are "forced" to bring determinate kind of Weapons because of them. Overload Champions? SMG or Bows... Barrier Champions?! Here's a Scout Rifle. Why? Why on earth...? Just give me a "generic" Mod and let me decide which Weapon to use against Champions.
-
Don't you want to take your linear fusion into GM ?

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 4/13/2021 4:57:34 PMThe fact that people have complained about this for so long now and they still do it just makes me think they can’t do anything else to make pursuits better. If they didn’t have all these arbitrary dictations of loadout there wouldn’t be much else for them to give us to do.
-
Remember D2 is run by woke lefties whos socialist leanings prevents them from seeing anything wrong with dictating players loadouts down to which f***ing grenade we're allowed to use this season. Y'kno as long as it's THEM doing the dictating. Champion requirements are just another layer of control - create a problem - then offer the solution in the form of shot/ grenade/ melee ability as long as it was the shot/ grenade/ melee ability they want you to use that is. You would think that huuur-duuuur Bungie employees had the ability to count to ten since some combinations of anti- champion abilities are greater than the armour slot allocation they graciously allowed us to have. You will play the game how we want you to play, using what we want you to use or you dont play at all.

2 RepliesEdited by blade329: 4/14/2021 3:45:01 PMI have always had an issue with this. They look at the data and if they see something being used more than others, they sunset (nerf) it. I don't understand the logic of this at all. If Bungie wants to sunset something, let's start with the damn boss stomp. Let's nerf that instead.
-
Yes stop making us play with restrictions. Overload sucks as is and now you make us play with shitty weapons to combat them!
-
Destiny is clearly under new management. I always though loosing Luke smith would be one of the best things for destiny but this may turn out to be worse. Nerfing QuickDraw feels the same as when they make a new gun in a usable archetype then put every good perk in the same column. The result is a missed chance with a good roll impossible. It shows that whoever is making content doesn’t understand the game, it’s meta or what players will use. Now without sunsetting people just won’t use inferior rolls.
-
9 RepliesWhat an entitled statement. This is Bungie’s game; they can do whatever they please. Go take on the financial risk, build a development team and create your own AAA product, then you get to decide.
-
10 RepliesEdited by KosterNL: 4/11/2021 12:09:39 PMI dont care much about the balancing. I just dont like going in to a nightfall with weapons they want me to use because of the champions. I dont mind the champions, just give us more weapons to stagger them with.

Edited by BulbaSmasher: 4/12/2021 11:54:27 PMI was just called a cheater for using jade rabbit lol

It would be really nice if the mods were for weapons so we could use our favorite guns for champions. But they would have to add another slot on our weapons.
-
22 RepliesBrother stop living in hell. Come play Borderlands 3 where the game is fun, has AWESOME weapons, and isnt TOXIC AF
-
4 RepliesFun experiment: Everyone uses linear fusions and watch Bungie nerf them.
-
So you want to use the weapons you created yourself? I don’t get it!
-
100% true.

FULLY AGREE, They are like a controlling boyfriend, making life miserable

3 RepliesI still use the weapons and armor I want. Honestly I focus on how to humilate the tryhards with underwhelming loadouts. They usually tell me to “Git Gud” or 1V1 even though my stats are higher or even on the losing team.
They bless us with taking away sunsetting only to curse us by rendering guns useless some people still love to use.

Realistically sunsetting was a Blessing disguised as a curse for getting rid of powercreep through rotating loot in and out of the lootpool. But one that of course Bungie couldn't hope to fill the empty gaps and nobody considered this as a legitimate criticism. Just crying about "NO MUHHHHH META WEAPON FROM 2 YEARS AGO!" or about the 75% of junk in their vault they never have and never will use. Not an actual complaint about a system and how Bungie couldn't hope to accomplish it... just personal grievances.
Nerfing a weapon archetype that's dominating all others is perfectly justifiable to bring it in line. The only way to "buff" other Handcannons to bring them in line with 120s would be the return of early D1 PvP. And I tell you what. How do you feel about being mapped by a Thorn doing full damage headshots with necrotic grips?
Granted I'd greatly prefer if 180 HCs had the great range, 120s had middling range, and 140s had the best TTK at mediocre range. At least 180s would have a purpose.
-
They’re trying to ruin our play time on D2.
-
Scouts and sidearms are the only perfectly balanced weapons.
Maybe there are others but you’d have to fight a lil, such as bows autos etc

Linears are so close but just not quite...
1 ReplyOh, the humanity! Quickdraw is no longer rendering all other shotgun perks irrelevant! There is now a reason to use shotguns other than Felwinter’s Lie in PvP! However shall we cope?!
-
5 RepliesI'm sorry, a 16% damage nerf is going to render Lament useless? What? Guillotine costing a whole 2 extra ammo? Get over yourself man, it's not unreasonable.

People complain too much
-
In the past few weeks I have mastered the use of hand canons, bows, and smg’s. I now enjoy using all of these weapon types, and have fun using them, when I really did not use them before. You guys can go ahead and keep complaining while I have fun running gm’s. Up to you. 🤷♂️

I somewhat agree with this statement and would propose each archetype has a handful of weapons with the same TTK at the optimal range for their weapon type, each type should also have one obtainable from each mode as in; Sandbox, PvP in general, Trials, Strikes/Nighfall and Raid! The aforementioned creates not only the need to do content but a valid and enjoyable reason to do content, each season could bring new random roll perks so that Bungie could mix things up, but still maintain balance across the board! Exotics are what they are and should be left alone and ultimately out of PvP! Balance is fare, one weapon type having dominance creates frustration, toxicity and causes skewed views and opinions in an otherwise enjoyable game, diversity doesn’t just pertain to the real world, it should also translate into the games we play! I’ve also suggested right from day one that Bungie should consider PvP only weapons and armour, static power level, can only be used in PvP and obtained through PvP, this would be the ultimate balance change, power grind gear in competitive and have tiers to separate the good from the casuals, but I suppose they know putting a real challenge to Trials would see many thinking they were good right in the salt pile, shame though, this could also open up an avenue for Esports!

1 ReplyI get where you are coming from and I agree. I feel manipulated and my freedom of choice taken away. Whether Bungie is doing it on purpose or just trying to keep their heads above water, it's not a good feeling to the player. Maybe Bungie needs to take a big step back, see what they are doing, and take on a new approach of weapon balancing. In regards to crucible, in Season of Arrivals, if you weren't using an auto rifle, such as Gnawing Hunger, you'd be mostly getting killed by it as well as Mountaintop. Now in Season of the Chosen, if you aren't using 120rpm Hand Cannons and Felwinter's Lie, you're getting killed by them. I wouldn't be opposed to at least a playlist that only has static weapons to even the playing field, like back in the Halo days, just to see how the community responds to it. In regards to pve, in a game that is ever-changing a balance, I believe, will never be found. How could it? Every three months, we get changing content, new perks, and new weapons at the same time making sure the old content, perks, and weapons are just as viable. Maybe weapons need to stop being used as individual (weapon-type) independent variables as in no more buffs and nerfs, just have one mass update that fixes the weapons into a individual (weapon-type) constant variable and just double-down on enemies, where the only buffs and nerfs are coming from the pve enemies.
