The community clearly has differing views when it comes to the state of Destiny. Veteran players will say the game is severely lacking, while New Light players will say that there is lots to do with a great story. This poll is to get a general idea where we stand with the current state of Destiny. Luke Smith stated before that they wanted to increase player satisfaction. For example, after completing a Nightfall: The Ordeal, and obtaining the loot at the end, are you satisfied? Do you believe that spending your time playing that specific piece of content, earning the rewards that you got, was worth it?

    • Depends on the content. PVE? Sure. PVP? Well... that’s another story.

    • Chose no. But it's not like I think D2 is in a shite spot right now. I still think launch D2 takes that cake. My usual complaints have been issues for a long time. I don't particularly care about the amount of loot that's relevant at any given time. As long as there's diversity in gear to obtain and the gear itself is fun/interesting to use then gear is doing it's job for me. However the gear we have right now is not only limited but also isn't very fun or interesting. So the quantity is a factor right now. At the end of it though It just comes down to the fact that trying to go for "god rolls" for weapons or armor isn't very fun to deal with. We need to have better control of how our loot drops. They are doing this some what. But we need it in all areas of the game and it needs to be more lasting instead of from season to season. Beyond that though Something needs to be done about light level. If chasing a number is Bungie's wish for players than the number needs to mean more beyond what content you can and can't play. Games like Diablo and path of exile chasing a number works because it actually has an impact on your gameplay. It doesn't here. I like the focus on more core playlists interactions but the core playlists themselves need a refresh. Strikes need more loot and a better offering of strikes. Even then i'm not sure that will be enough to make people want to run strikes. It would for me but it needs more. Gambit needs love. It needs relevant specific loot again. Some balance tweaks. etc. And crucible needs more new maps. More game mode variety (PLEASE bring back rift,) and of course they need to have desirable specific loot. I don't play or care for trials but the adept situation needs fixing. You need to be able to select your loot drop like you can with the DSC raid. And adepts need to be more powerful.... I can go on and on. As a casual player i'm pretty satisfied with how my moment to moment gameplay is. And the story is finally going places. I LOVE that. But there's no real...long term investment for the game. It's something they've always struggled with even in D1 so it's not a new issue. But I think this hits home more this time around because it's got a spotlight on it due to being packaged along side the whole sunsetting content stuff.

Game sucks! Stasis broke Crucible. The one thing this game has going for itself is gunplay and they destroyed it with stasis. Raid is fun, but it's getting old. Rocket Launcher is average but out of 20 completions with clan, only 1 has dropped. 1 out of 120. That's stupid. Lack of content and an insurmountable amount of bugs, glitches and unbalanced sandbox. The game is getting super horrible. No wonder streamers keep leaving to play other games. Even the feeds with stasis are boring. Nobody want to see a streamer kill someone with an easy kill. They want to see skill, awesome clutch moves, etc. People got bored of the bad state of game, stopped viewing and they left. Plus they hate stasis as well on PvP. Bungie messed up, but Luke Smith is too prideful to do anything about it. He will lie to our faces next season and expansion saying he heard the community. However, he will still end up ruining the game and Bungie's reputation. Destiny is bleading band it will slowly die out. It cannot survive the new console generation.

      • I just want the formula to be like the first game 1. The first Destiny got regular loot refreshes. 2. D1 light/power actually gave meaningful scaling attack and defensive bonuses. 3. Strikes had fun modifiers and unique loot to Chase. D1 strikes also dropped loot at levels that put you within the beginning of the end game 4. D1 PVP connection felt better and actually considered team skill. 5. Why does console have double The Recoil of PC mouse and keyboard? Especially since PC mouse & keyboard has has the recoil pattern of the first game. 6. Destiny 1 had a faction pledge system that increased your reputation no matter the activity you completed for a chance at cool and interesting faction themed loot.

        • Pvp needs a complete overhaul Stasis needs to be balanced or outlawed in crucible due to decree of the vanguard It also needs new or reissued maps and game modes from d1. Crucible specific loot is needed as well 2 new weapons won't be enough reissued d1 weapons would be greatly appreciated. Strikes needs scoring and medals that d1 had. It also needs strike specific weapons and armor for each strike Old modifiers from d1 would be great as well I miss small arms for strikes. All locations that are available should have loot that isn't sunset as well this means all loot from nessus the moon and the dreaming city needs to come back and if the item is updated with new light levels and no new rolls the items sitting in our vaults should be updated to match the current gear. No more duplicates like the gnawing hunger or trial weapons.

        • Bad Things About D2 Right Now -sunseting i will never support that system -PvP cheaters and Stasis pvp has just become a not fun environment to be in, stasis dominates, and cheaters and hackers are constantly in your matches, ruining your chance at flawless or even just a regular crucible match -not enough loot players dont have enough loot to chase, more than 50% of drops were sunset so that really lowers the amount of things to chase for god rolls. -the fact that bungie plans to do almost nothing about these problems bungie probably wont take stasis out of crucible. they think they have anti cheat down. (they dont.) they say that more loot is coming, but that probably just means adept nightfall loot. (dont get me started on adept loot) and the fact that bungie plans to continue sunsetting? and possibly doing to supers eventually? when will bungie change something?

        • I'll continue to play until Outriders drops in April just out of nostalgia. I'm praying Square Enix worked the gun play mechanic to rival Destiny, because the feel of gun fights remain the single and only thing Bungie hasn't ruined. (yet) If not SE, I hope some other company can mirror the "feel" of Destiny combat, so I can walk away from this predatory, pointless hamster wheel, permanently. I love what this game could be or I wouldn't -blam!- about it. But I'm truly coming to hate what they've turned this game into post-Activision. It almost as if they're ruining player experience on purpose. #justsaying

          • The reward / risk is so off balance it hurts to see. Raids aren't a challenge after day 1 anymore. Nothing changes. Least in a menagerie esque environment it would switch up a bit. PvP has no anti cheat (if you say it does you're lying to me). PvP needs it's own sandbox with dedicated servers. But almighty Bungie can't afford it. -shrug- Overall we're in the awful area I expected to be in. Which is why I've cut down playing to only once a week if at all. If it gets worse. I'll gracefully leave and be on my way.

          • Came back to the game with beyond light. Been away from it pretty much since destiny 2's awful launch. I can't really form an opinion on all the content that's been vaulted, but three things are a major turn off for me and my wife right now. 1. All the sunsetted gear that can't go past 1050.... what's the point of even having it in the game? There's some cool weapons I really would've like to try and I can't cause it's power level is capped at 1050. 2. There are catalysts that are not obtainable for returning players because they got locked away with their vaulted content they were found in. Guess we're just out of luck with that. 3. The BIGGEST thing that just made my wife quit is stasis. And I don't blame her. I don't touch crucible outside of bounties. It's just not fun getting frozen every engagement by entire teams running stasis. It never has felt good in any game to have control of your character taken away from you completely. And there's no good way to counter it.

Okay, this is a joke, but I think I finally figured out what's actually going on at Bungie's studio. Edit: When Luke goes to work he parks his car in front of the entrance so as the devs show up he can have them line up in a row 6 feet apart so as they come in 1 by 1 he can check their temperature, make sure they are wearing a mask and wash their hands before they go in. You know, doing the right thing making sure everyone is healthy and making sure everyone stays safe. But, just before they go in there is one more step they have to do. He calls the first dev to his car and tells them to put their head against the car door latch, Slam! okay, you can go in now next. Then the next dev walks up, alright, you know the drill, Slam! As the dev stands up, hey Luke I got an idea to improve things in the game, Luke, put your had back down. Slam slam slam slam slam slam! You are paid to work not think next...

          • I put no because I guess wasn’t an option. It’s the same business model every season. They somehow made the crucible sandbox worse, who thought that was possible. This season will not keep even the veteran players like myself around. They need to do something and fast. Some of us have been around and supporting for 7 years. The least they can do is show us they appreciate never giving up on them. I just foresee a scary future, where this could very well be the last installment in the beautiful universe that is Destiny. No dungeon, cryptic meh story. Europa huge and icy and wonderful yet there’s like 40 adds on it at any given time. Stasis, the first chance to wield the dark and it breaks pvp beyond all bounds. We need more story, a dungeon, more exotic questlines. Here’s an idea maybe more then 1 raid a season, I mean seriously. I understand the loss of High M and VV hurt them. You have the funds bungie to bring in other studios though. We love you and just want you to show us we deserve a lil recognition for our patronage. Instead of working on another IP while we languish 🤮

              • I’ve never seen the PvP player base satisfied in this game. Like NEVER. Stasis is just the new problem in a long 7 year list of problems they seem to have. Destiny is a power fantasy game heavily based on abilities and such. It’s PvP is directly tied to PvE (you bring guns to pvp that you get in pve). So if you want to drop on a map with 5 guns available to everyone that you can just “modify” to your liking while having limited abilities that do barely anything then Destiny’s pvp is not for you. It can never be “balanced”. It’s just not that kind of a game. With that being said i judge my experience mostly from PvE which let’s be honest is the vast majority of this game’s content. PvE now is shallow. Beyond light is better than shadowkeep but worse than forsaken. The new raid is beautiful and interesting plus easily accessible and easy to master. But that’s about it. Europa has little to no exploration interest, the cosmodrome doesn’t even bring nostalgia back and for those that don’t raid the amount of content is too small. One new strike and one old, no new dungeon, nothing new to core playlists, minimum amount of loot. Exotics tied to sectors was cool though. Next season needs a unique activity (not escalation protocol 2.0) and a decent amount of loot if they hope to keep player numbers up. VoG will be fun for two weeks only.

Whether we are happy, or not, with Destiny 2, is the wrong question to be mulling over. Is Bungie happy with the current state of Destiny 2? That's the real question. The short answer is 'yes' as revenue is good. The (slightly) longer answer is still 'yes' otherwise Bungie would not continue to make such odd decisions, ship such light content, ship such buggy content, devote such meagre resource to the game (esp the core activities which are such a big focus of BLight and this season's trash), seemingly ignore major player issues, never really come through with any of their promises to do better (and to look into this or that, or bring this or that back), and so on.

                  • The expansion and the season are a little disappointing but i still give it a 7/10. Overall we are in a far worse place than pre- beyond light. A large amount of content removed and replaced with an average expansion, hardly any guns in some archetypes after sunsetting, and pvp in a frosty mess.

                    • I have been having immense fun with the weapon balancing in pvp and learning to play around stasis, but that is literally it. I could go play cod and have the same experience. The lack of pve content, pvp content, any reason to grind for weapons, power level, armor, anything literally besides titles is just embarrassing.
Sturm go brrrr
• Are you happy with the current state of Destiny 2? Hell, no. Not at all. First impression of Beyond Light was great. Europa, Story, etc... all good. Even sunsetting was not a big problem in the beginning, But very soon the grinding became very annoying. Everything felt so repetitive and that already with playing just one character. Only thing that kept me playing was the gun play feeling which is still great. But now, after finishing all three characters, I cannot get myself to play any longer. I'm logging in just to log of almost immediatly. PVE is boring and not rewarding. With sunsetting it feels so senseless to chase godrolls. They'll be useless anyway in a year. And then I feel fooled when the same weapon drops that I just dismantled at start of season because it was sunset. PVP... don't need to say a word. I'm not good enough to play pvp in the state that it is right now. I used to have fun a year ago but now... I can't even get myself to play a round seriously. Most of the times I let my 12y old son do the games for the pinnacle rewards. But also that stopped. He prefers Fortnite... less cheaters and he says more fun there. Loading times were a lot faster at season start, but with dwindeling player counts I guess it will not be getting better (according to steamchart more player played Among Us than D2... WTF and that despite Iron banana and trials). So for me this is season Beyond Pointless and I really regret to have bought the season pass. This definetly was my last investment in this game.
