So if I understood the TWAB correctly...
...our pursuit weapon for next season is Beloved. A weapon that a good chunk of us have, probably with a god roll - that is getting sunset, but immediately reissued...
If you're going to reissue weapons we already have - JUST UPGRADE the max level on our current ones ffs.

It's not like they are going to increase the light level of activities as they release content further minimizing what gear you can take where....

1 ReplySomewhere out there is a Titan missing a loin cloth.... seems like Bungie took it without asking and wrapped it around the jewels on Beloved and thought that we wouldn't notice. I don't know what offends me more... the fact that they are sunsetting a gun just to reissue it... or the fact that they thought so little of us to put in effort to at least change it enough that it doesn't feel like we are getting pissed on again. Could they not just give us the LDR from D1? With every thing else coming from D1 why not that too?. Take our weapon, disguise it (if you could call it a disguise, you can literally still see the bumps where the crystals are through the fancy wrapping) and then make us grind for it again. Hamster wheel go whiiiirrrrrrrrl 🐹

3 RepliesNo. You're pursuit weapon is one that uses the *geometry" of Beloved (because all of Destiny's animation is motion-capture), but is likely going to have a completely different set of perks, stats, and a completely different sound design. IOW the only thing its likely to have in common with Beloved is that weapon "skin". Also what people haven't stopped to consider is that there is a reason why Bungie is letting us see this TWO MONTHS before the game drops. This is probably the LOWEST tier (most accessible) loot in the game (IOW, its targeted for the FTP part of the player base)....and Bungie is saving the new stuff for the expansion and for the end-game.

Because they are calling it a different name, hence why they’ll claim it’s totally not a reskin. At least that’s what them and their loud advocates will tell you. I agree with you on it being legitimately bs.

Copy and Paste takes skill since these devs complain that DOING THEIR DAMN JOB is hard, and yes writting code, and making a game isn't easy(I use Divinty Engine and NWN nights engine and yeah hard stuff and a lot of work) but it's what they get paid to do sooo, suck it up butter-cup. https://youtu.be/niWqqfaUhkk This is what a possible great game has become. Luke Smith and his team are lazy useless and all should be fired. The building they work in burned to the ground, prefer if Luke Smith was in there at that moment. Bungie lost my dollar a long while ago. I'm not paying for any more Destiny 1 that I already have purchased.

But I now have a 1360 Gnawing Hunger with overflow and rampage and a 1360 bad omens with tracking and cluster bombs. Why would anyone think that this is necessary? Take it away and immediately give the exact same thing back. Redundant, unnecessary, pointless They think we wouldn't notice the cloth wrapped around the crystals on the Beloved. Expect this to be the normal. They don't have enough talent, resources, or creativity to sunset 400+ weapons and 200+ armor pieces and replace with all new items. Expect 90+ % of "new" weapons to be reissued or reskins

9 RepliesBungie were hoping that since the finally listened to the "let us choose PvE or PvP objectives for our wewpons" crowd, that no one would mention the whole "reskinned" thing. I mean, I'm fine with it, but I see why people aren't.

DMG posted that the traits will be different. The low zoom scopes on snipers for instance are very likely something that is totally going away next season. We have not got to see the patch notes for next season weapon tune but I think it will be extensive and make for some pitchfork and torch moments.

Im calling it, the vanguard sniper will be the new crucible meta sniper to replace revoker. Its currently available and has updated light level. It can roll with snapshot as well as low zoom agile scopes, and finally its its one of the few snipers available thats not a rapid fire frame so it can 2 tap in crucible.

I just think it's really really sad that they think putting a cloth on an existing asset is a job well done. It sounds like a joke it's so minimal effort. Can't wait for 'The Peak' a kinetic gl with a key chain on the mountaintop skin.

It's the same weapon model, but we don't know perks yet so probably worth waiting till we are perks before you judge it.

It’s a very similar model but with new accessories and ornaments and new perks so it will be far from the same weapon.

Once Dire Promise gets sunset, I bet we get a reskinned Spare Rations too. It's sad, they couldn't even take those purple "windows" or whatever they are off the side.
