The gamemode is hot garbage, we all know it. Going to bank the first motes and MEDIUM BLOCKER INBOUND!!! LARGR BLOCKER INBOUND!!!!!! Then they invade, wipe ur team and BOOM that's game folks. How is that fun to literally anyone
Edit: Btw, that was an example. If you think that's the only reason why others and myself despise the gamemode your crazy.

The game mode is too complicated to be enjoyable - too many mechanics and way too easy to exploit against newbs and casuals. Bungie has a serious problem in making the game enjoyable in any respect except for content creators... Also, fighting against fireteams - not cool in Gambit OR in Crucible...but Bungie have no issue matchmaking a 4-stack against a bunch of newbs...ridiculous and lazy...

3 RepliesThere’s just too much heavy, it’s boring. INVADER then bam ur whole team gets mowed down by a heavy machine gun
-
Gambit is a failed game mode. They should just remove it
-
My complaint is all the AFK ass-hats.
-
1 ReplyIt's really stupid, for sure one of the worst game modes ever made on any game ever made. Wish bungie would remove it completely from the game and put the loot in pvp and strike playlists.

Edited by PRIME_-LeGEND: 8/2/2019 2:36:07 PMGambit is literal cancer no enjoyment even when we are winning honestly its just annoying and stressful. Not to mention there are alot of bounties that make a conflict of interest in the favourite ways we play. For example, i dont wanna collect motes im an invader. But no choice because the bounty required depositing motes. Pvp and Pve should stay seperate. Oh and by the way it is designed for golden guns

2 RepliesHere recently I've noticed that players on the other team are not banking motes at all. They sit and wait for your team to spawn your boss and then they will spawn invades until either kill the time limit or they get their boss up just by killing us. This is whats killing Gambit for me. Out of my 10 matches I got 9 like this. One guy would come in with Polaris Lance and 2 shot you. This same guy had 40+ guardian kill 0 motes 0 adds killed 0% boss dmg. I got into 6 matches with this guy. Never on my team mind you.

I normally love Gambit. However due to the current event, and the need to grind Gambit matches for the Solstice armor, there are one or two AFKers each match. This makes the mode unplayable and frustrating since it is nearly impossible to win when you are down a player or two. Bungie needs to rethink the Solstice armor grind requirements.
-
I still prefer a Gambit match over a Quick Play match of Crucible against a stack of try hards. Though I do hate how long Gambit matches take.

This game mode is trash. The invade mechanic is way too influential!! The invasions need to be limited and honestly PvP and PVE really don’t belong in the same game mode. Keep the PvP sweats in the crucible playlist.

A bit harsh and clearly an impulse post, but I get it. Gambit had so much potential but was hampered by the clear flaws that are also hampering higher end crucible gameplay (Supers and heavy.) It would be great to have a gambit game mode that had more of a reflection on the old Halo Firefight gamemode but add in the pvp-like element. Have two teams of 4 fight waves of enemies with fun modifiers added as they progress. As you kill ads, defeat challenging enemies, and earn medals you are manipulating the other teams activity: - You add taken enemies throughout the level that need to be killed before they reach a particular spot. - You make crystals spawn that will explode and wipe their team (if not destroyed) forcing them all to respawn and lose their progress. - You send boss waves that impede the other teams progress until they take care of it. - You create plates that the other team has to stand on in order to deal damage. - If the other team doesn't complete these tasks as they kill their own enemies then negative modifiers could be added as well to pile on the experience. Literally anything that we have had in past raids and activities all thrown into this one gamemode as a pvevp experience. There can be opportunities where players can invade but it wont be as often and would act as a boss wave where the invader has a particular buff/nerf as well as maybe a particular weapon they are forced to use. They could tank damage and use maybe a scorch cannon but that's about it. Normal invasions could happen as well those do not get the wall hack ability.

59 RepliesAll of you complainers just are very terrible at Gambit. I love Gambit. Why dont you kill thr invador and bank some freakin motes?
-
1 ReplyI see alot of hate for gambit never really understood it myself I enjoy it personally
-
It's called using strategery. What's yours?
-
Crucible against players who are better than you is worse. Nothing destroys your power fantasy like getting effortlessly stomped on for ten minutes.
-
I think you meant (The Reckoning). That is the worst experience.

Get farmed #livestock
-
It is allot better than the hot pile of dog shit known as Cruc-A-Crap.
-
Gambit was better the originally.
-
I’m sure the opposing team, who were rewarded for being faster than you in gathering the motes, had plenty of fun.

You got outplayed. It happens, accept it and move on.
-
Then go get the armour and get notes and bank on 5 then 10 then 15 then 10 and repeat.
-
If you’re playing for fun it’s great. Obviously playing for a quest and not meeting your personal objective is gonna be frustrating.

3 RepliesEdited by MightyJandal: 8/2/2019 3:13:46 AMThats why you always need to keep your eyes on the meter up top and the invade marker...its not rocket science. If they’re building up a large amount of motes and they’ve gone past the glowing marker its a sure bet blockers are gonna be followed by a invader. Drop what you’re doing and either get to the bank to wipe out the blockers as they arrive or get into a high flank position to await the invader. Banking second can be an advantage but not if you lost a ton of motes to invaders and you need to bank more than half the meter. Nothing wrong with sending 5 at a time to get your mote meter up then going ham with the large blockers once the opposing team are in their prime evil phase. Prime is a different story, someone has to be near the bank at all times with a shotty or jotunn.
