FPS keeps getting worst and worst each patch. 2.2.0 has done nothing to solve these issues.

Since the initial drop of black armory way back in December, my FPS has been much worst than it was post-black armory (from the launch of forsaken until black armory.) It has not only not been fixed with update 2.2.0, it seems to have gotten even worst. I used to be able to maintain much higher framerates before. Average FPS, since Forsaken, seems to have gone down by at least 40. It seems to have gone down by another 10 since the update earlier today, along with that update causing a fair bit of stuttering too, which I've NEVER experienced before. I've tried every fix under the sun since December and nothing has fixed it. I've tried reinstalling windows, uninstall updates, etc. Removal of the latest windows 10 update (KB4482887) which was causing FPS issues and mouse movement issues on some people's systems seems to have little effect on FPS. I know it's not super high on the priority list, but PC optimization is an important matter, and I find these heavy drops in FPS after patches annoying. Specs: i5 8600K @ 4.9Ghz (Stable OC, I've tried messing with voltage and core clock, it had no real effect) GTX 1080 16GB of DDR4 @ 2666Mhz CPU cooling is adequate. Rarely goes above 70 degrees c. GPU tends to sit around 65 under heavy load.

Here's the thing, Destiny 2's Patches are only partially responsible for decreasing performace, I had faced the same issues with the game getting slower and slower. The interesting thing is that it happened to all my games not just destiny, suddenly having slightly or drastically less FPS, stuttering like crazy, micro stuttering etc. Well I ended up doing some research and it turns out that the latest driver versions from Nvidia are known to cause those issues on certain cards. So I ended up rolling back my Nvidia Driver by completely removing it with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and reinstalling an older version (I did try multiple ones but ended up on 416.64) And to my surprise, suddenly every single issue I had with Destiny 2 and all other games was pretty much gone. Also the Depth of Field setting is still kinda messed up, set that to low or turn it off completely as it seems to cause the massive frame drop when aiming down sights, also VSYNC messes up synchronicity between clients in crucible (aka people shooting "through walls" or to be precise, they can see you on their end earlier than you can see them because active VSYNC somehow renders you a few split seconds behind... don't ask me how or why the hell that happens though.) It might not work for all people, and for some of you the cause of some of those issues could be something entirely different, but for me what I wrote was the case and the changes did indeed work for me, hope they do for some of you guys too. And as Jtwo wrote win10 update KB4482887 does mess up things as well.

      • There's a bit in the TWAB known issues today about them investigating FPS issues after windows update KB4482887. I hope they fix both this and the weird performance issues a lot of us have been experiencing since the initial launch of BA. Glad to see the topic of PC performance in there though, first time I've seen it in the known issues at all. Like I said in the post, the windows update doesn't really seem to be the main problem for me but I've heard a lot about it causing problems for others. Probably safest to uninstall the windows update for now until it's fixed or a new windows update comes out without these issues.

      • Same issue, bud. I've been dealing with stuttering and frame drops at high frame rates since right before Forsaken's release. Like you, I tried every fix I've come across with no luck. Just a few of my previous posts that better explain the issue: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248919046?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248755976?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/250024649?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 I've sorta lost hope that this will be addressed. I've seen streamers with the exact same setup as mine play without issue at higher frames, so I have no idea what's going on.

        • It's WORSE FYI Did anyone else see the recent thread about disabling all XBox Game Bar processes AND deleting or re-naming the GameBarHelper exe so it doesn't come back on? It helped with my MSI Desktop GTX1070. My monitor is Ultra HD 28" but only 60Hz (don't ask) but after I followed the above I get a persistent 59-61 FPS in most shared game play areas with no VSYNC on, and much higher in other areas

        • I thought I was the only one having this same issue. pre-black armory was fine(it did have drops) but it was a stable 60fps. Now, it goes down to 50, 40 even 30fps and won't go any higher. Plus the stuttering and the freezing. All of this is making the game unplayable.
