Not Forgotten and Luna's Howl are a Problem

So before anyone throws a fit, I have Not Forgotten. I got a group, I practiced, I succeeded and died succeeded and died over and over again, got good as a team and got it. Not Forgotten and Luna's Howl are way too forgiving and dominate the game. The gun does nothing except discourage players from playing PvP, even in quickplay. I get it. Pinnacle weapons need to be strong and PvP players needed something to grind for, but these guns have gone too far in the right direction. Pinnacle weapons should be fun and powerful in the right hands, and 180 RPM hand cannons have a very low skill requirement due to their high stability and recoil direction. This normally results in a slow TTK, but LH and NF negate this entirely with 2 headshots and a body. Ace of Spades even requires 3 headshots to kill. This results in people winning engagements because they have the better gun, rather than the better movement and aim. As for a solution to these guns, I have no idea. Nerfing them, removing then from QP, or altering them will be met with a bunch of anger and lashing out. My best ideas (not perfect by far) are: 1. Make them exotics. Maybe then people will have a harder time choosing them and their choice will matter more. 2. Make Magnificent Howl activate after three precision hits, making it a 4 shot kill on the first target and a 3 shot kill on the next, as long as you continuously hit crits. 3. Nerf the perk so it takes 3 consecutive headshots to kill. That way the gun isn't as forgiving and requires a larger amount of skill to use appropriately. 4. Make them kinetic weapons. The best primary shouldn't be able to he pairs with the best shotgun in the game honestly. (Precision shotguns need a rework. Dust Rock Blues has very few downsides compared the aggressive frame shotguns.) 5. Decrease their stability and recoil direction significantly. The guns can honestly be spammed and be affective due to the flinch the cause and their stability and recoil direction and still be very, very effective. This is especially true in team engagements, but is also true for 1v1 engagements. 6. Combinations of those above. I hope the guns aren't nerfed into the ground, but some adjustments are necessary. I don't even use mine. Edit: The other solution to this issue is one I completely forgot to mention. Buff other hand cannons. 140s should kill in 2 crit 1 body. Balance the others from there. 180s should probably stay the same or have more recoil.

  • They don't need to do anything to Luna's or not forgotten they just need to buff other weapons to compete like exotic hand cannons why or legendary weapons better than exotics that is bs why put elite guns in elite players hands with nothing that can compete it bs buff other guns to compete they should never nerf only buff to compete

    Finally! Every time I post about this I get a bunch of cry babies talking about Luna’s has zero range but somehow out guns any weapon at pulse range. Literally every sweaty player runs Luna’s and shotgun and there’s nothing you can do to stop them. If there here to stay I’d say the auto rifle and scout buff fell hella short. Both autos and scouts need a little more love to compete with some hand canons. Shotguns need a range nerf cuz some shout guns have crazy range and should only be viable for very close range.

    • It's super frustrating to be killed by Luna's and nf. Whenever I get killed by any other weapon in the game it doesn't really feel unfair. I got out played. But with Luna and Nf it just feels like complete BS. There hasn't been weapons that made me this frustrated since pre nerf Trorn in D1. And guess what? It's coming back. Enough with the hand cannon meta. It's one of the worst. And it doesn't help that the maps are perfectly designed to give hand cannon players an advantage. And what's worse is it takes no skill. I see players wrecking with Lunas then I check their KD and they have .8 KD or have trouble even maintaining a positive KD. The whole thing is ridiculous.

        Solution, buff 140 and 150 rpm hand cannons on console seriously though luna and nf are not an issue on pc

Redrix after getting it is just a collectible weapon and not a go to in PVP[quote][/quote]

          • They could easily buff other hand cannons or make them pinnacle hand cannons in a different way. Change the archetype to 150 as their are no new 150 energy hand cannons besides the dreaming city one. This way It'll make them 2 crit one body anyone and it'll have a higher skill bracket because of this fact as 150's have higher recoil. They may need to be removed temporarily for this change but it's probably the best solution. And on top of this thorn is a 150 that's coming in season of the drifter and I'm going to assume its a 2 crit one body with the lingering poison damage. Done and done. Tell me what you think OP.

            • I have lunas and to be honest, last word is better in ttk, and duke/ace is more consistent. Although I play on pc, where it takes much more skill to be effective with nf/luna, I don't think they are overpowered at all.

              • Ever since TLW has come out, I have been outgunned every single time. I play on pc and the gun is not overpowered. Since a large part of the D2 playerbase plays on PC, it is largely unlikely they would nerf the luna/not forgotten. It is not free wins and easy kills if you use it aimlessly

                • I myself don't have lunas but mida has been slowly getting me the wins I need...and in all honesty I think a less harsher system needs to be placed there. Like once you reach heroic you cannot go lower. That would make comp so much more bearable.

                    • i have NF i would be ok with its rate of fire being reduce to 175 to be less forgiving. 2 an exotic version bought out with a redrix style quest as to preserve some small advantage having NF

                      • I have Luna/NF, mountaintop, breakneck, and loaded question. I think those weapons are fine. Last word is out and can compete with Luna. Pulse rifles with HCR can compete with Not Forgotten. The only thing that bothers me is wardcliff coil spam in pvp and queenbreakers spam in gambit.

                          • those guns require precision hits in order to work, its not like anyone can just pick it up and stomp on it you have to be skillful in order to get those cri in, I hear were you are coming from but there is always a top tear weapon out there in almost any game.

                            • making it exotic is the worst possible solution. I haven't bothered to play much comp to get my lunas but If they made it exotic I would since I like having every exotic. For me its a matter of laziness but for a lot of people locking an exotic behind competitive PVP is a huge issue. Its the same reason trials never had any exotics linked to them except 2 cosmetic items, an emblem and a ghost.
