I've sent this feedback to the design team. Thanks for sharing. Here are the main reasons I have listed for why players would like Enhancement Cores removed from infusion are:
• Players don't enjoy having to equip fresh powerful drops over prefered gear
• Enhancement Core costs prevent players from looking they way they want
• Enhancement Core costs prevent players from creating the builds they want
• Infusion costs are already sufficient without the Enhancement Core requirements.
If you have more reasons I don't already have listed, please share them. Thanks!

The elemtal resistance perk on armor is useless, I know nobody who enhances their gear for it. Instead could the enhancement cores be used to enhance an existing perk on the gearpiece? Like enhanced handcanon targeter or enhanced sniper flinch reducer (don't know the real names out of my head now xD).

Edited by whiteLI0N: 12/21/2018 8:22:01 PMIve been sitting at 600 since black armory because i hate infusing my preferred gear several times per piece just to slowly level up with my preferred gear. Its just silly the way the system is set up. I dont even bother with the forge because it would require me to infuse, and i simple don't want to waste 30 cores going up 6 light levels
-
If you want enhancement cores to be used how they currently are then you need to increase the amount that drops from bounties/activities or whatever the source OR remove them from infusion from legendary to legendary and keep them if someone wants to infuse a legendary into an exotic or exotic to exotic. What you have with the duplicate item infusion thing is great, how say you have a good tigerspite roll but you get a higher power one from an activity the game allows you to infuse the higher light tigerspite into the lower one for only glimmer. The same should be applied to rarities as mentioned above.

From someone that has been playing destiny since day one I for one agree with this. I get the fact that they want it to last longer. But with this new system it is way to much! If that wasn’t bad enough you go and make spider charge twice the amount for ever core we get! You have removed the fun factor of playing this game. It nothing more than a grind machine. All the powerful engrams are 99% crap weapons crap gear leaving us to infuse them With the other 1% of the gear everyone uses. Exotics are hardly every drop for me. I have seen one exotic engram actually drop sitting on the ground! Now with this new DLC cores are dropping less even with dismantling items. Enough is enough
-
When can we remove them ?
-
How about you just tell the community why they refuse to remove or change it? Has this not been going on for months?
-
I would like to say I prefer it as is. Leveling is a fairly short process, and I like that there's some choices forced on what you bring up during that phase. It can force experimentation or at least a drive to get what you want up to max once that happens, which is a good thing if you ask me.
-
It's already there, but I feel locked into Arc with my Warlock because I can't use cores to try other builds. It's sad. Some missions I want to nova bomb, or go Well, but I feel I gotta light down for that to happen.
-
Cozmo, I don't like enhancement cores being a part of infusion because i feel like i must save all of my cores for infusion now. As a result, i don't get to masterwork very many guns or armor pieces. I would like to use my enhancement cores only for masterworking guns and armor and have the cost be removed from infusion. If their only purpose was masterworking things, i would feel a lot more free to do that.
-
Hey Cozmo. Any word on this? Would this be considered? Thinking of two more LL increases ahead.
-
• Enhancement Core costs prevent players from looking they way they want • Enhancement Core costs prevent players from creating the builds they want
You can chalk these up to the leveling system all together while you're at it. It's overly complicated to make gear drops seem more important than they are in the worst way. If gear was more about what it does rather than what number it is the progression would be in a better place.

Any update on this? Cmon.

Y'all, Cosmo literally took your exact complaints to the dev team for you and you're still bitching about it and shitting on them for 'not listening?' This community is ridiculous.

This community is ridiculous.
This is nothing personal. You weren't around for the D1 April update, were you? this was free content and a hell of a lot more than what Bungie is offering for $40 Annual Pass. How does that work? Look at the effort that was put into that amount of content verse this "Annual Pass". https://www.vg247.com/2016/04/19/destinys-april-12-update-everything-you-need-to-know/ You don't even realize how wrong you actually are, not about Cozmo, but the "listening" part. The devs are going to do what they want to do in spite of what feedback is given to them and that is a fact. Their actions as far as listening show otherwise and action (speaks louder than words.) If they were "listening"? they wouldn't have had to use the cors for infusion among a lot of other unnecessary changes that were used to overstretch out the content in this game because of the lack of replayability. Case and point? Look at all the vendors in this game and even Xur going on 4 months later has not even sold one single forsaken exotic because the lack of new loot added to the loot pool. The faction vendors were removed almost 4 months ago that removed a lot of loot form the loot pool. Ikora's inventory was removed months ago. The Gunsmith inventory was removed that had twice as much loot in his inventory in Y1 versus now. They are all bare bone, no inventor meaning no loot in this game that left gamers (collecting hundreds of duplicates) that does absolutely Nothing for this game at all but waste a gamers time spent playing this game. The community has every right to complain about how this game and Annual pass has been handled.

Edited by Raevenent: 12/15/2018 2:05:37 PMPlanetary Materials, Glimmer, Weapon/Armor Materials, and Legendary Shards are sufficient enough for a cost of infusing. Masterwork cores should be there for masterworking, nothing else.
-
Enhancement cores should only be used for Masterworking. Not infusing.
-
The planetary materials it takes to infuse should be reduced to 5 because that's another thing that frustrates people about not having enough for infusion. But, the idea that infusing two things of the same name together only costing glimmer is a good idea though.
-
Edited by JBODST75: 12/16/2018 5:12:44 PMI think 25 is completely fair as you can now buy them from spider and every material you consume randomly generates 1-3 with bounties giving you 5, you cant have everything on easy mode you know.
-
It seems that they already planned to remove them from infusion and only have them for masterwork. Hence they changed the name to enhancement already. It’s highly likely that they will implement this change in jan or feb to show the community that they are listening. Why are you guys still so slow at reacting to community feedback? It’s this stubbornness that the devs have as they believe that their way is the right way is frustrating. Nothing ever changes.

Edited by DarthUriah84: 12/14/2018 5:22:37 PM
It seems that they already planned to remove them from infusion and only have them for masterwork.
What? They were Masterworks core and only masterworked. Now they infuse also and gained the name Enhancement. How does that imply they are going back to only masterworking an item?
-
They still seem to be in the game. #playOURway Bungle

Edited by ADLYD: 12/14/2018 10:01:44 AMI think the enhancement requirement can stay for weapons. I have been forced to play different kinds of weapons because of this system and I like it. Its a carrot for taking me out of my handcannon - shotgun comfort zone. I explored the world of SMGs because of this system, and now use it in a few encounters. Specially the tower climbing boss in Last Wish. Huckleberry/Pillager - kill clip + outlaw just shreds on that encounter. But for armor however, i feel like doesnt match with what i want to play. final feedback/ideas. Lower the amount of enhancement cores to infuse weapons - "Weapon cores", yes Weapon cores! Now u can use them to also infuse weapons and be a part of the Black Armory thingy. Use enhancement cores to masterwork gear and weapons. Edit: also, please do not take away the planet resource requirements to infuse. It adds value to the patrol experience.
-
I can appreciate that you enjoy this system, but I don’t want to be “forced” to play any specific way. This is a game, a chance to take a break from the real world, and a lot of us can’t play it the way we want because of this issue.
-
Edited by Niinja Slayer: 12/15/2018 6:15:13 AMYou are one of the very few people who likes to be forced to play this way. Most people like myself want to use the gear we actually like. I’m fine with everything else staying. Just remove the damn enhancement cores from infusion!

As in, enhancing said weapons or armor. Not infusing to level up. Everything outside of the cores needed to infuse the gear to a higher LL is enough cost and fine. It’s on you that you didn’t try new weapons. Other peeps shouldn’t have to suffer your lack of experimentation. I try almost everything out when I get it, even if I know I don’t care for the base feel of the gun, cause maybe better perks make it feel better. Not needing cores won’t change that. In fact, if I had the cores to enhance the stat it rolled with, maybe I’d like it better. But I can’t enhance that stat cause I have to hoard every one of those dumb things to upgrade my main gear. It’s stupid and needs to be gone. No animosity to you or your opinion, just saying my counter opinion. 🤷♂️
