Change of plans. This thread is now about the balls in destiny. Basically talk about your favorite balls in destiny. Purple ball, the old ball before the purple ball, soccer ball,or even the servitor ball. Also balls for the future. Let's show our love for destiny balls.

I said it before and I'll say it again if Bungie wants to make pvp and PVE fill similar then make it to where lower level guardians get 2 tapped by max level guardians cause apparently we're supposed to be so powerful

1 ReplyEdited by LIGAS of EARTH: 7/22/2017 5:50:45 AMBungie has always shown since it's Halo days the inability to create balance or parity in it's multiplayer environments with evidence such as HCE pistol, H2/3 BR and on the other end of the spectrum the other 99% of their Halo weapons that were limited to rare situational place holders. The truly damning issue is that Destiny's PVP exists inside the PVE and it's been corrupting the whole Destiny experience for years now. If Bungie wised up and really got with the program they would of split the PVE and PVP at the start of D2. Would it really been so hard to create two personas for every guardian and lock PVE content away from PVP content. Separated weapons, armor, abilities, etc so that who your guardian is in PVP is a totally unique character and then your PVE guardian would be someone entirely different.
-
It'd be a little better if the PvP was actually good.

I agree. They wanted to reduce the use of special weapons, grenade spaming and ability building in D1 PvP and have more focus on primarys, so now we have largely reduced cool downs, no intelect and 2 primary slots. Quite obvious what they are doing I think and the impact on PvE is extemely noticable. I wouldn't say they have removed all the fun, but they have reduced it, in the Beta atleast. The real proof in PvE will be in the final released game and how it differs in design, and mechanics, if the strike, mission and raid bosses are all bullet sponges, which is what we have seen so far, granted it's only 1 strike, then spamming R1 (or R2) is going to get boring (and ruin the controler) quite quick I would think. If it's just add control it could take the monosity out... slightly. I can see PvP getting monotonous as well after a few games, even for the purely PvP players. I am still getting D2, I still love the game and hope I still love it in october and will reserve serious judgment until I have played the full game, but I do hope bungie are taking on board what is being said on the various threads and forums and improve what they can before release.

2 RepliesJust finally got my hands on the beta today, and wow PvP is seriously the new focus for Destiny and that's sad. The PvE is what made Destiny, putting it after PvP is a HUGE mistake
-
They need to adress the cooldown in pve AND in pvp. For the rest this beta feels pretty good.
-
I agree.

1 ReplyHonestly I really can't complain about the supers the fun and unique but my problem is with sentinel and Titan in general, yes I have played the first game, yes I have played the beta of d2 so I'm going off what I see needs Changing and the biggest one is the ward of dawn I see more people playing an offensive role in pve with sential instead of using ward of dawn which is more useful in pve but the big factor is what seems like the biggest change (besides self resurrection being removed) is the removal of blessing and weapons of light (I mean no ill will to the game or bungie I just think this should be addressed)

Bump.

I honestly enjoy the longer cooldowns. This game is built on its solid gunplay and mechanics. Things like Nova Bomb while using a Bad Juju and wearing Obsidian Mind cheapened the experience in my opinion and made things way too easy. That being said, it seems like Trickle is on and this will likely be changed when the full version drops so cooldown rates are a little less. Plus we'll also pick up armors that will likely reduce cooldown rates as well. What I've noticed that does irk me is the time it takes for health regen now.
-
Has no one else noticed that we are underleveled for the PvE stuff in the beta? Our gear is at 200 but both the story mission and the strike are set at 210. Now as for why Bungie did this, I don't know, and it doesn't explain the slow-as-dirt ability cooldowns, but it does explain why the weapons feel underpowered.

I've found I didn't mind the weapon changes much of an issue. I get heavy most of the time as most of my teammates don't bother with it. I'd still like to see 6s come back but I will deal with it if they don't. I've played about a dozen or so games of PvP and haven't had much of an issue with lag or connection. I have noticed a few things that have to do with the new connection scheme and I'm hoping they iron out those issues before launch. The weapons, feel good but weak. There were a couple shining stars, they fell in the energy weapon slot. The solar AR, the void pulse, and the minuet HC. The primary weapons were clearly second tier to their energy counterparts save the scout rifle which felt really nice to shoot. The abilities leave a lot to be desired coming out of D1, at worst they feel useless and at best they feel like neat gimmick. The cool downs will hopefully be able to be mitigated in different ways to make them more timely and useable overall. A big issue I saw was that orb production was skimpy and the gained cool down was down right terrible most of the time. Overall, it has a lot of potential. I see weapon mods being the new grinding point. Rare mods taking the place of exotic weapons as trophies. While I can't say for sure, super cool down mods are going to be a major thing for PvP alongside grenades. I'll play it, I'll even enjoy it. The gameplay feels good even if the overall feel of the game feels like a downgrade, not just because we're just starting out but because of the limited choices and smaller fields of play.

Fun is what you make it. Solo or with friends you can have as much fun as you want. Never treat it like a job; treat it like a hobby.
-
Did you read the weekly update?
-
I've had a lot of fun in PvE Especially when I jump during a jump boost and literally snap every bone in my guys body
-
3 RepliesApparently nobody read the article where Bungie clearly said that this beta version everyone is playing is months old and that changes have already been made to both ammo drops, supers, etc. I swear people just love to bitch. Guarantee that on day one all you cry babies will be playing Destiny 2.
-
6 RepliesThat first paragraph made no sense at all, the second is all opinion. I actually like PvE better now, but it seems I'm in the minority. The third is close but not there, we only have access to the top tree, plus grenades, ability options (holding O or using dodge) and jump options plus 2 different trees, then on top of that there's 6 subclasses currently known that's ALOT of options. I do agree power ammo needs to drop a lot more in PvE then it currently does. Hope they fix that for the full release.
-
I agree with you completetely dude i want to run the perks i want from my subclass to help me out more. I also want to get more than one super a strike and 3 grenades a strike
-
I agree Grenades take forever to recharge which the whole reason i played warlock is to have grenades all the time. And all the enemies feel like bullet sponges.
-
They'll fix the PvP in the 3rd or 4th expansion pack for $39.99

7 RepliesIt's a real shame that a lot of guardians are jumping to conclusions or being rather cynical in regards to the forthcoming PVE offering - all based upon the rather limited offering we have been served in the beta. As stated in Bungies twab this week, the beta represents a stage of the game development that is already months out of date... many of the issues we have identified have already, or will probably be resolved prior to release on sept 6th. This is primarily a data gathering exercise for Bungie as it was in the original destiny beta, player population/strain on network etc. To judge the whole game based upon a very limited set of armor, weapons, and a fixed set of subclass nodes seems to me to be a little like trying to judge the quality of a great restaurant meal based upon the complimentary appetiser. Whatever your views are on Bungie, I think it highly unlikely that they will undermine one of the most well loved aspects of the original game. Patrol, nightfalls, raids and perhaps even other PVE experiences we have yet to even imagine are tantalisingly beyond our reach atm. Personally I think we have great things to look forward to - and sept 6th can't come soon enough for me!
-
4 RepliesI do hope Bungie does nail the PvE side of things, but I am worried that too much of a focus this time has been put on PvP and at the cost of the experience in PvE. If I want to play PvP then I'll go play another game, by a developer which knows how to nail a PvP game (looking at you respawn ❤️). I started playing destiny because it wasn't like all the other fps games out there it was different, sadly it feels like it's gonna be just another generic shooter. I really really do hope I'm wrong
-
1 ReplyIn no way shape or form do I feel "empowered" when playing PVE.....enemies are simply bullet sponges, including yellow bars, and this DOES NOT make the game more difficult, it simply makes engagements take longer.
-
I AM PISSED! they have not learnt a thing from Destiny1 in terms of PvP affecting PvE, shot guns and snipers should NOT be power ammo.. IMO i blame Trials for this, Trials helped the game stay alive for abit there and is one of the most watched game modes on twitch, now this is the direction Bungie is taking..
