Is something suddenly different in the crucible?
Or do I just suddenly suck even worse than before?
When I first started playing Destiny, I sucked badly in the crucible. But over the months, I've steadily improved and got to where I can hold my own, and at least break even k/d wise the majority of the time. That was, until last night. I didn't play Tuesday because I had some things going on in the evening. But of the few matches I got into yesterday, I was getting absolutely wrecked. One one of my matches, My entire team hovered around a 0.6 k/d while the two top scorers on the opposing team were at 27.3 and 11.1, while the rest of their team languished like the rest of us. This wasn't the only match that completely sucked. Its just the one that sticks in my mind this morning. Although I do remember getting a whopping 0.27 on an earlier match last night. I don't think I've ever done that bad since the first time I played. I think I only managed to go positive in one match last night. Maybe two. Either I deteriorated majorly from taking a one day break, or something changed in the last few days. I guess it could be bad luck too. It just seemed really inconsistent and weird.

Sometimes ALL the Superstars are playing at the same time u do... I've had a week if playing where I do really well and then all of a sudden get into an arena where every destiny god is playing.. some players on destiny really are... that good. Stunning.

I'm not great at crucible, with that said I feel like it's been easier. I've played a few today and I'm mostly just using shoulder charge and punches. I use to never be able to do that consistently.

1.5+ kd ate manipulating sbmm ow so they slump kid with .8s. It's bungie fault.

6 RepliesBungie also pushed more towards a Connection-based matchmaking experience to lower times to find matches. this will feed you into matches with people less skilled, but also with people more skilled, which can lead to "Pubstompers" and such. this also allows one team to be lucky with 2-3 real good players while the other team maybe got paired with 2-3 poorer players.

Probably bad luck. I've noticed that I get paired with people whose skill level is greatly higher than my own.

Damn..CBMM is humbling. Some guy got over 40 kills and we still lost. Next closest was around 20

2 RepliesThat happened to me too! I've clawed my way to a 1.2 kd and I've been playing really well lately, but last night I totally sucked. I think it was a Bungie server or Comcast issue though, because I kept getting error codes when my internet is usually great. So don't worry, I think you can safely blame this one on the lag.

Your are improving in skill and as you improve your tactics must change to stay at the top of the lobby of the higher skill level. It goes from being able to play aggressive and take on 2-3 of the lower skilled to better players who are accurate and smarter so you have to play more passive and smarter

It was running like hell all last night, green bars teleporting and shooting thru walls, and just felt off. About 10 minutes after we stopped playing the server went wonky and gave out an error code.

But they certainly have destroyed the crucible for the common player. Constantly matched up against teams that are magnitudes of skill above my teams and we get slaughtered. I have so many matches now where it is just spawn, golden gun before I can move, spawn, sniper before I can move, etc... It seriously sucks hardcore. Not going to buy RoI at this rate, seeing how bungie absolutely doesn't care about anyone but their streamers.

They nerfed SBMM again because the player count has tapered off steeply. The past two months has been rough for Destiny. With SBMM getting nerfed again, you are going to see more"pub stomping" matches like you have been experiencing. Again, the top 25% get their way while the rest of us get shit on.

I feel the same. While playing rift, I had always constant kds, suddenly it's really hard to go positive.

Last night was extremely rough for me too. For me it was mostly lag, but I was also getting rekt by snipers from shotgun range. Constantly.

4 RepliesNo not missing anything. That is how it goes sometimes. With me I will go from 1 to a 2 down to a .2 kd. It drives me crazy that in one game I kill everything I shoot. Next game everyone I shoot is left with a sliver of health and I die. Go from 20 kills to 2 so sad. But my over all kd is the same 1.1 won't go up or down.
