Ok Bungie wants us to make friends and play with our friends, but makes app features to be able to find randoms to do raids, PoE & NF with. So why not put optional matchmaking in already, like it isn't going to kill the game! In fact it will take out the part of the players having to go out of the game to be able to find people to play the game with, which makes sense to me. What do you guys think? Are you for or against?
Edit: For those of you worried about matchmaking problems here are some ideas by IamJophus that would fix most of them https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/195873574?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=0 It would also add end-game content for high level raid players if they wanted it.
Edit 2: For those of you against or elitists as some would call you, I am simply asking for Optional in-game MM for the casual side of this community. Is it to much to ask for an in-game way of creating fire-teams with random people. I personal have a clan that I am apart of that I can do raids with, even with that it is still annoying to have to leave the game go to a website and ask. I just want it in-game, we should not have to use multiple apps/websites/gaming console to play one game! It's common sense!

For. If it's optional folk can't complain. I was in a clan however felt the need to leave as it was filling up with salty and elitist players.
-
POE/Nightfall: yes Raid: no Raid with conditions. For example: you could only join HM Raid if you have completed normal mode 5 times.
-
I don't get why they don't add this in. It's OPTIONAL. Why not add matchmaking to all other activities except raids and see how it works out. For example, nightfall and challenge of elders are usually not difficult; there's no reason you can't have matchmaking for these. It was so convenient when the weekly heroic in year 1 (for 9 SCs) was given matchmaking.

1 ReplyDim - for destiny stats and switching items. Destiny App - for lfg. Ishtar Commander - for loadouts. Tower Ghost - for viewing (filtered) items alphabetically / by light / by type. Public Event apps - for... pubic events. Bungie Website - for grimoire. Guardian.gg - for guardian stats That none of this is available in-game doesn't seem totally ridiculous at all.

1 ReplyBump Still never completed Kings Fall and I have no desire too since it requires me to use my PHONE or LAPTOP to get into a team. That in it's self is ridiculous. The fact that you have players willing to skip the "end game" shows this is a problem. What's the point of creating a game if a portion of the players never actually play it? That's a huge development fail if I have ever seen one.

SO TRUE

2 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 5/23/2016 1:08:08 AMIn-game matchmaking would only succeed if you could put in search criteria to filter out players that are unprepared for the activity; those under geared and unknown of how the activity works..Also AFKers would be an issue as well. Otherwise it'll only appeal to a small amount of players and have a lot of failed matchmade groups (Those that can't complete the activity), making most go back to LFG sites.

Its like people dont know the definition of optional. If you dont like it, you dont have to use it... But not everyone has a bunch of friends on Destiny anymore. They already have matchmaking in certain parts of the game, and we all like the game... So it wouldnt hurt at all
-
What kind of tool do you have to be against OPTIONAL matchmaking? If you dont want it, don't use it, it's -blam!-ing OPTIONAL.
-
2 RepliesGenerally speaking I'm against this sort of thing, but if it's optional, as in if I want to go in with my team of 4 or 5 or even just alone then I've gotten to the point that I don't see the harm. Or another idea is to make regular mode have optional mm, but teams are required for hm. If they do have optional matchmaking I think you must complete each raid first on each difficulty, a step ladder if you will like they do for poe. Another thing to do is have mm raid it's own difficulty tier, an entry level with its own lower level gear and just sort of that bridge between heroic strike and raid difficulty. Something to get you used to the mechanics, but not as unforgiving. Sort of like wows raid finder.

Agreed

3 Replies3 words they will never add MM into Destiny.
The are lazy
1 ReplyI guarantee you there would be more complaining on the forums with optional MM. However, I don't see why they shouldn't put it in...

3 RepliesI voted for "For" but the thing is it defeats the purpose of the Companion App existing

5 RepliesLook at what's happening in heroic strikes with the idle players and the quitters. Sale that up to a raid and tell me it's a good idea.

As long as iam the host and that i can kick: noobs, trolls, people who dont shut up, people who are eating, people with echo mics, afk f4ggs, little kids with annoying voices and that one persoon we all know thats going to be kicked because you know how he is.

6 RepliesWhat's wrong with you people, don't you know how to make friends? There's no need for all this lfg crap, apps, matchmaking if you just join up with people you know.
-
1 ReplyYou will never get the optional matchmaking. This is not your game, it belongs to Bungie, you just rent even with updates. They don't care or fix the problems in the game. They want casuals only. There are a few people I met that had disabilities that no one would play the raid with because they were slow. I met only one guy who ran a fireteam who was awesome guy and took this guy who had bad diabetes missing limbs and spent 10 hours straight to help him do the raid. He didn't't want to give up on him or kick him.

Considering there are so few recruitment posts for the 360, one would think its obsolete. 😃 But until I upgrade consoles and then spend another $60 plus to bring my characters over, it would be great to have optional mm. I know 360 sucks, and by association I'm a poor, lazy, uninspired individual for not being on something better. Feel free to confuse the issue with childish insults if that's what makes you feel better.

7 RepliesIts funny how people who dont want raid mm say nothing when you tell them its optional and they dont have to use it. They never have anything to comeback with other then "well then people will just bitch on the forums about bad players!" Ok...and? You act like tgere is soooo little bitching on these forums right now...

I'd prefer an in game lfg. Something like a big bulletin board with a robot in the tower/reef like the bounty bot. People can post their activities and requirements and others can reply to it.

I am all for you having fun using it but they would have to bolt on something that was not designed for this game. It would take a lot of time and might not ever work. The last gen console memory issues come to mind. I don't want any extra time spent on this thing that very few would use. Spend it on the next thing. I hope it is in D2 but I would never use it.
