Change your weapons to fit the map? Try it
Are you being out gunned while you have your scout equipped? Or while trying to shotgun?
Become flexible! Go to a pulse on maps with shorter fire lanes. Try a fusion on a map with tight, mid range tunnels. The opponent is amazingly compliant in marching at you in line...
Being sniped? Avoid the lanes and flank. It feels great to turn a corner on say, Pantheon, to see a hard scoping sniper as you fire up a fusion. You know he's just cartoon-crapped in his cartoon pants at the sound.
Nerf yourself, and by that I mean think, thank, thunk out of a singular mindset. Every puzzle has a solution... every load out you face has a counter.
Enjoy your game more and more by experimenting.

1 ReplyThought this was going to reference the frustration from trying to scurry [i]back[/i] to your inventory screen after being obnoxiously booted out of it since you actually waited to see the map before going into inventory in the first place, and all that on top of only getting about 7 seconds to do all that if you manage to get in there before match kicks in! For iron banner is went with Monte Carlo, havoc pigeon, and some machine gun. Worked pretty good without having to switch around all the time.

Good post. I think year 2 maps are the designed to further support what you've posted. On a lot of maps, there are areas of two extremes (think drifter, ultra claustrophobic mazes with some open areas). Pick a weapon type and make an area your home. Am I the only one that actually like year 2 maps?

When its a long range map. I use jade rabbit or trials pulse rifle. When medium to close i use jade rabbit (lol) trials hand cannon, suros, titan exclusive exotic, TLW, iron wrath and one of the 3 shotguns i have.

Monte carlo, first curse, smite of merain/grasp of malok, and Hung Jury/Boolean Gemini I keep one of each class for rotation.

I do mix it up, but I've found in several maps you can do well with whatever loadout you choose, you just need to fight in different areas and with a different technique depending on your loadout. For example, Exodus blue can be fought all close range if you choose to, all mid to long of that's your preference, or a combination of both (TLW or auto and a sniper; NLB or a scout and sidearm or shotty) you just choose to fight in different locations on the map.

You know what also helps. Starting fresh. My brother just got it and I was grinding IB for him. Being forced to use an underleveled and poorly equipped character really steps it up
