Leaving a strike or PVP match? Get banned for 10-20 mins from those activities.
That would be my solution to all the freaking leavers that ruin everyones experience. And it wouldn't hurt anyone!
If you have to leave because of some real life problems, you won't care for a 10-20min ban. But if you're just that douchebag that quits matches, you're going to get punished for it. Not too hard, but it will hurt them enough to stop leaving.
Anyone likes the idea? Because I'm really sick of playing solo strikes or Iron Banner matches with 4 guys against 6.
edit: New idea! (thanks to some smart guys)
Instead of a ban, bungie should increase the vanguard streak a little! If you play a few strikes (or crucible matches) you get increased drop rates for strike exclusive gear and weapons. Same in the crucible, just with the pvp exclusive guns.
That would give people some more reason to stay in matches, as everyone wants those Red Specters or Imago Loops :)

2 RepliesOh boo hoo hoo. Baby can't understand that real life happens and wants punish people over a game. It's never gonna happen. If your that upset with a game, go outside and get a life. You can't stop people from quitting out of a game. The reasons they do so are too many to count. I quit out of crucible as soon as my bounties are done. Y'know why? Cuz I don't care about stats. I play for fun as soon as I get bored I leave.

Their should be a penalty for going 0-15 someone in my game literally did this

1 ReplyAbandonment issues?

Just for PvP. Some strikes I can't be bothered with.

2 RepliesRed spectre dropping alot in crucible

Edited by ecruz26: 2/26/2016 11:03:22 PMGreat idea because bungies servers don't kick players randomly with a multitude of code errors

I liked how they did it in halo reach. INSTEAD of penalizing quitters they rewarded people who rarely quit games with xp jackpots after the game.
-
If someone leaves a match, they are probably not going very good. In fact they are probably getting destroyed. Why would you want someone getting destroyed feeding the other team stay?

Sorry, had to poop....

Ppl back out for all manner of reasons. . Not a problem in my book .. solider on ! Even losses are wins if you play the underdog.
-
4 RepliesI like both suggestions. I don't really understand why people just back out unless some real actual need for which they should not have joined the game in the first ppace- this excludes unexpected emergencies. Yeah, both sound good.

I leave some PvP matches if I notice early on that it is a lag fest

Edited by Clocky: 2/26/2016 9:14:33 PMThis reminds me of Fallout New Vegas. There are casinos in the game where you can bet money. Being a singleplayer game, there's nothing keeping you from saving in front of the table and reloading until you win...except the NPCs are in a "wait a minute I'm busy" animation for a little while after a reload. The players complaining the loudest were the ones whoring the system the hardest, hehe

I think it should increase with the number of times you leave. Like the first time a day(or whatever time you want to use as a baseline) is a 5 minute penalty, then 10, then 20, and so on. That way if something comes up you won't be too harshly punished, but if you make a habit of it there will be real consequences.

I'm not about to go through 12 minutes of a red bar gods. If you choose to enjoy and hopefully bungie adds a 6th who will stay.
-
Where tf is the freelance ib? Bungie made it so the people crying about fireteams would shut up, but no playlist means more salt
-
If they just implemented ranked playlists it would solve this problem and many others...you quit, it counts as a loss regardless how your team does, and it affects your ranking...

The ban timer would be best. It hurts the more "serious" gamers, where the people with lives would not be effected, provided the timer counts down outside of the game, otherwise it would be dumb. Increasing the streak would not promote people to stay. The streak barely does much as it is, it's all RNG, so it's still heavily based on luck. If somebody doesn't like a streak, whether in streak or not, they will leave. Also, what if you just started searching for a game? They wouldn't have a streak, so they wouldn't stay anyway. The ban timer, that counts down outside of the game as well, seems like the best solution.

4 RepliesYesterday I was in a match of Iron Banner and it was me versus a fireteam of 6.
I lost :(
2 RepliesEdited by CapnMark: 2/26/2016 8:45:12 PMHahaha oh op you make me laugh. You know people have a life right? Maybe talking a washroom break, checking on the kids, maybe have fun time with the wife, work etc.

Nah If they do we need a balanced game please.... You can't put competitive rules in a non competitive non balanced game.
-
Make it for repeating quiters. If i enter a strike and my gf calls me, i wont leave my guy afk in the strike but leave. So punish those they keep quitting and not those that leave once.
-
I hate when this happens. One time, I was matched with some pretty good teammates in Skirmish, and two people left the other team. Matchmaking kept sending them back into our same game, though, and did it three times. The Catharsis was insane.

Never going to happen. As long as 6v6 games can start with only 8 players (4v4) that means players will get thrown into a room in progress. Why should players get thrown into matches in progress, if they're being put on a team that's getting slaughtered. With SBMM (thankfully) being removed, parties of 6 will find games against 6 solo players. Why should 6 solo players have to face against a full party squad? Of course there is the Lone Wolf playlist, but it's not going to be active every single week. For strike missions, when people do not leave immediately (checking stats, checking equipment, taking a leak), the game will see 3 people in orbit and instantly send them into the next strike. Say that person didn't want to play another one....they get penalized for a 30 second break? No. There should be no penalties for people leaving activities they don't want to do. Nobody should be forced or compelled to do something in a video game, and have their option to leave that activity if they want to... they don't owe anybody in the room anything, as much as Deej wants to portray this problem that way.

6 RepliesEdited by WhiteShieldWolf: 2/26/2016 8:09:56 PMNo penalty should be implemented until bungie fixes their shit ass matchmaking. I played well over 10 IB games yesterday and who was included? Basically the same 8 or so people.. out of the apparent "millions" that still play. -blam!-ing nonsense. As soon as im playing different people each match then they should add punishment to those who leave..ill usually stay in a match until completed, but when its the same team over and over (who win by a 3k lead each time?) im out.
