Leaving a strike or PVP match? Get banned for 10-20 mins from those activities.
That would be my solution to all the freaking leavers that ruin everyones experience. And it wouldn't hurt anyone!
If you have to leave because of some real life problems, you won't care for a 10-20min ban. But if you're just that douchebag that quits matches, you're going to get punished for it. Not too hard, but it will hurt them enough to stop leaving.
Anyone likes the idea? Because I'm really sick of playing solo strikes or Iron Banner matches with 4 guys against 6.
edit: New idea! (thanks to some smart guys)
Instead of a ban, bungie should increase the vanguard streak a little! If you play a few strikes (or crucible matches) you get increased drop rates for strike exclusive gear and weapons. Same in the crucible, just with the pvp exclusive guns.
That would give people some more reason to stay in matches, as everyone wants those Red Specters or Imago Loops :)

I'm not staying in a match where most of my bullets don't register. I play for fun. Those type games are not fun. Besides, you should be happy I leave. All I'm doing is feeding the other team points.
-
I prefer the idea of rewarding people for staying in by using the vanguard streak kind of mechanic. It's really annoying when people leave right at the start. You can pretty much guarantee it will happen at the start of echo chamber, and when a crucible match is cathedral of dusk.

1 ReplyNot a huge fan of this idea, same strike 3 times in a row and I'm out, I'll do it twice.... Never thrice!!! Lol
-
If im in a strike but my friend wants me to run something with her imma back out and join wtf the strike can hold horse balls for all i care
-
That's exactly what should be done. Hate it in Iron Banner when your team is some points behind and 1-2 team-members leave instantly.
-
I would like the idea of a crucible streak just like the streak for running multiple strikes

http://youtu.be/1F1CH1sknh8 If you enjoyed give it a like If you dislike it, tell me what I can do to make it better I didn't have time to edit tho -_-

What about the game disconnecting me? Should Bungie give me a reward for continuing to play their game? I can be running around on patrol and get a baboon error message. Only seems to have started happening after the last update.
for those too lazy to open, it is a gameclip of me flying into a crucible game on earth. While I'm flying in, Shaxx says,"Thats enough! I'm calling this one." Of course the very second I spawn in I get a "Your team lost" message on top.
If Bungie still thinks it's Ok to put me in a match mid way then I'm leaving it 100% of the time.

3 RepliesEdited by Alvin Thwait: 2/29/2016 10:48:15 AMIf you ever play ToO you will see that after each game there's a chance of getting armour (I think the longer you go winning streak there's a chance of weapons. Never got that far!). This is the only incentive you need for quitters. Why should anyone waste their time playing in a game that is so one sided or lagging badly, unless the chance of rewards is greater than a mote of light? I usually play for fun and don't care so much for the loot, so I will stay in any game, but will quit if the lag is so bad that my bullets do zero damage. That's no fun and downright frustrating. I dont play this game to get myself angry.

It would be hilarious if someone consistently AFK'ing in strikes could be "tagged". Something similar to the Nightfall's blue flames, but a "stinky" green/brown or something... and the debuff can only be removed by killing a certain amount of minor enemies and big bads in strikes.
-
We payed for this game,so if we choose to leave a strike because we don't like it or a crucible game that's our choice. Now it pisses me off to,but who are you to say who plays what in a video game
-
Of it is for a game invitation no problem.
-
2 RepliesOnly if bungie can determine if you just quit or lost connection
-
2 RepliesQuitters are okay, someone can take their place, but inactives? They're even worse
-
3 RepliesWhat if you lose connection? Would that still ban you? Would that be fair? Because if you lose connection and it doesn't ban you then people can just pull out the ethernet cable to leave instead.
-
That's what world of Warcraft did. You had a deserter debuff that prevented you from entering pvp queues for 15 mins
-
2 RepliesYeah cause tending to my crying child and having to leave a strike merits being BANNED for 10 minutes while I take care of them. OP is RTRD
-
2 RepliesSo here's an idea I had earlier this week: "Shaxx's Dishonorable Discharge" If you leave a game early you will not be able to start matchmaking for five minutes. The buff will stay until you complete a full match. When the buff is applied you will receive no match end rewards (you still get rep).

I agree. But more like 30min ban and extra 30min per time you leave ( reset on daily basis ) so third time you leave within a day =1.5hour ban
-
Edited by ExelArts: 2/29/2016 9:41:51 AMNo, you can't prove they left on purpose, the lag was making it unplayable or for what ever reason
-
Edited by scotchmist67: 2/29/2016 9:41:01 AMBump, Should be banned 24 hrs for people who repeatedly leave. Trying to get 7 kills while leading bounty in iron banner when it is 6v3 is just ridiculous
-
2 RepliesSo when I'm in a pvp match with major lag I should stick around and get destroyed? Only time I leave a match. I don't mind getting wrecked legit but I can't stand teleporting, can't damage anyone, someone killing you as they are reloading etc.
