Where would your loyalty lie?
If you woke up in the world of Destiny, as your guardian, where would your allegiance be placed?

This was just a random thought that i didnt think would get more than 20 comments.

To myself I fight for rewards. Secretly I fight to avenge my fallen guardian brothers and sisters. That's why I killed Atheon and raided the VoG. That's why I killed Crota and those who fought for him. That's why I killed Dark Blade and took his head to avenge Tarlowe. I hunt the vex to find a way to go back in time and save the guardians who fell that I wasn't there to help. I kill fallen and hunt Osiris to keep the promise I vowed upon saint-14's memorial. I kill hive in my pursuit to find greater power beyond the traveler. I killed oryx twice to gain his power and and protect earth so there may be a planet to greet my fellow guardians when I bring them back. I will bring upon a greater age if its of light or darkness I don't know yet. I will avenge the guardians before me and find a way to bring them back to us.

Most will never know our names. They'll never see our faces, feel our pains, understand our loses. We'll just be stories to them...legends. Old and ancient and forgotten. Nothing more than something to gossip about or tell children before bed. That's what I fight for. That's who I fight for. I fight so that they don't have to worry about what's out there in the Wild. I fight to keep them safe so they can live normal lives. I fight so that one day the children of the City might not be afraid anymore. I don't fight for the Factions. I don't fight for the Queens. I don't fight for the Vanguard, the Light, Osiris, honour, or anything else. I don't fight for a nameless Warlock and I definitely don't fight for the silent alien it speaks for which brought this calamity onto us. I fight for those who cannot or shouldn't have to. I fight for humanity; humans, exos, and awoken alike. I fight for those who need to be defended. I fight for today so that we may have a chance to fight again tomorrow. I am a Guardian of the City. I just feel there's something up with the speaker and traveler so I'd probably go rogue and later make a custom scout that would later become an exotic [spoiler]that's only available for 500 silver [/spoiler]

Between whoever is in dangerous for doing nothing bad. Think about if we didn't kill crota, oryx would call upon us to help him to stop darkblade from over throne him. Perfect explain all actions have a consequence. Kinda makes you think about eris can she really be trusted after the ending of ttk main story. What can that crystal from oryx sword really do? Who was she talking about? My queen? Awoken hive or something unknown

1 ReplyWhat it is in-game for my main character, the Vanguard. Ultimately there are a lot of things at play. The Traveler / Speaker is probably the closest Non-Vanguard entity I would follow as I believe that is the path of potentially discovering about the Darkness, what the Traveler is, if it is good or bad, etc. The other city factions seem a bit too personally interested: Dead Orbit with bouncing the joint, New Monarchy might be a bit too set in their ways, and the FWC with progressive technology and combat. I like the Vanguard cause at the end of the day they don't involve themselves with the politics, just defending the city and finding some answers of what is going on. So in Year 1 I never took a side faction over the Vanguard, and even now that year 2 lets you do both, I still am Vanguard only haha.
