While alot of them have the console, did they do a survey on how often they play it? No. You can own an Xbox/Playstation and never touch it after day 1. Owning a console doesn't make you a gamer. Playing the games that it supports does. I'd be willing to bet quite a few of the females who have a console touch it once every blue moon. So this survey really isn't accurate when it comes down to "Are there more girl gamers than guy gamers?".
