So, everyone was excited for Games With Gold when the program was announced, but many people think that the program has not met their expectations. I would like to know how your experience with the program has been so far. If you have any suggestions for the program, don't be afraid to say them.

They need to get games within the 2010-2012 era. That would make it a lot better. Of course a lot of those games are probably still turning a profit so they want to continue to make money off of them. Either way I'm not gonna pretend like in pissed off at Games with Gold. Free games are the best games! xD

1 ReplyIts not like I didn't own Gears of War or Halo 3...
-
3 RepliesIt was meh at best. The games were either old but gold or Indie and meh. Compared to Sony's one it is a joke, on it's own it would be mehh ok. meh
meh
-
Needs a lot of improvement... I haven't downloaded and played one of the games on demand because I either own them already or have no interest at all. Microsoft needs to offer video games that should be free (meaning they have a lot of DLC or microtransactions) so we can get some new games that are actually worth something.
-
The games are either shit or I have them because they're old classics.

Edited by MoReCoWbELLx2x1: 12/5/2013 3:32:14 PMI love the hypocrisy in some people on these forums, it's pretty funny. Sony fan: "Games for Gold doesn't give you any recent or good games." Xbox: "Gears of War and AC II are good games?" Sony: "Anybody that wanted that game already has it." *Sony gives BF3 2 years after release* *anybody that wanted it already has it* "OMG BF3, BEST TITLE EVER NO ONE HAS THIS!!!"
-
Either I already own them or im not interested in the game. I don't think I have downloaded any of them so far.
-
Yeah, I like it. They're free games... and you get to keep them forever. And they've nearly all been interesting games. I see no problem, here. I mean, if people are expecting new releases for free then they're out of their minds. What we've got is pretty darned good.
-
I don't want to bitch about free games but the program is a huge letdown especially when compared to Sony program. Sure Gears and Halo 3 are great games but both are quite old and most have played Them. The program needs more fine tuning.

21 RepliesEdited by FAITH12: 12/3/2013 3:35:01 AMThis is the fact people need to consider when comparing "Games with Gold" and "PS+". With PS+ you get better title per say, but they're rentals, you only get to play them so long as you're a paid PS+ subscriber. With Games with Gold any and all games are yours, no strings attached. You don't have to do anything to keep those games because they're yours. My opinion is that Sony was able to negotiate this program by making sure that they are not really giving you anything. Microsoft on the other hand is doing this while making the games truly yours. You be the judge.

3 RepliesDon't understand how people can complain about free stuff
-
Games with Gold? More like Games of Olde.
-
No, half of the games that have come out can't be downloaded outside countries like the U.S, so my friends couldn't download games such as Fable, Halo 3, and GoW.
-
I love it. Most of them have been games I wouldn't buy so it works for me. I don't see the sense in waiting to buy a AAA game with the possibility it might be free one day. I buy the games I want. ANYTHING else is just a bonus.
-
Nope. They are giving us games that are old or pretty much everybody either has or played or they are these arcade titles that seem to be choosing because nobody knows they're there. Really/ Their most recent game which is Fable 3 which is bad and considered the worst in the series. There's no reason why we can't get games that are from 2010-up. It's nice that they are doing something like PS plus, but with the stuff they are giving us. They might as well not be doing it at all. I would rather have the games as long as I keep my PS plus than keep games that I already own or hardly anybody cares about.
-
1 ReplyIts stupid as shit. Why are they giving us old games that mostly everyone has played already? And one thing that pisses me off is Gears of War being free. Are you serious? That game is almost as old as the Xbox 360 itself and I'm pretty sure the majority of people have the game or at least played it. I bet the next game we're going to get for free is gonna be Call of Duty 2 or Need For Speed: Most Wanted, two games that came out in 2005 when the Xbox 360 launched.

Where's the I'm tired of Microsoft being cheap choice?
-
Edited by True Velox: 12/4/2013 10:24:04 AMIt's only meh titles, either five year old games on demand or some obscure arcade title I've never heard of. It's really not worth it.
-
It's like they looked at the success and acclaim of PS+ and said "let's do that", but didn't bother to learn why it's held in high regard. Or even more disappointingly, they knew exactly what made PS+ tick but realized they could get away with their own sub-par variety. Either option is both equally terrible, and equally possible.
-
You get free games, sometimes free isn't always the best.
-
No but at the same time I don't want to complain because it's free.
-
It seems watered down. They are only seeming to give away the old old old and not even willing to give something free that was 2 years ago or something lol I appreciated Halo 3 being free to rise the population but most of the other games are just meh.
-
They need to give more recent games, not stuff that's years old. The only game I really never had before that I got out of the program was AC2, and I -blam!-ing loved that game, so yeah, more of that'd be nice.
-
Nope. I think I deserve more free stuff.
-
The games are not top notch but some games I never would have played I have really enjoyed.

Edited by Jim the Jew Lord: 12/4/2013 6:22:56 AMNot in the slightest. It's a bunch of old shit people have already played and it's just one game at a time.
