1 ReplyI think that the current gamer generation is experiencing what is known as "fatigue" with Generic First Person Shooter Title the Fourth the Revengeance. Personally, I've lost all drive to care about first person shooters, or as Ben Croshaw so insightfully pointed out, Spunkgargleweewee.

Halo 4 is better than Reach in most aspects. Maybe Reach's Forge is better. And obviously having Theatre in Campaign, and decent playlist management at launch would have helped.

Edited by A 3 Legged Goat: 4/14/2013 1:56:28 PMThe Reach armor (and armory) is much better than the H4 one.
-
Edited by DoubleL4: 4/14/2013 1:50:15 PMI prefer reach however halo 4 isn't too bad it's just too cartoony if you know what I'm getting at but I like the abilities and controls.

7 Repliesi wish people would shut up about the halo 4 hate because it's getting annoying.

Edited by ZealotSG: 3/23/2013 12:34:20 PMDawn: casual catering Requiem: terrible. Lack of solid ground outside of level kills exploration and the Elite snipers easter egg is glitched. Forerunner: terrible. The Battlewagons easter egg is lame. Pretty good for tricking though. Unfortunately, Covies vs. Prometheans is hardly noticeable and is very limited (compared to Two Betrayals, Gravemind). Infinity: pretty good encounters. Plenty of tricks Reclaimer: lame. But there's a lot of glitching Shutdown: lame. But there's a lot of glitching Composer: pretty good encounters. Plenty of tricks Midnight: somewhat enjoyable, were it not for the Broadsword run. Also, the 3 BRs easter egg is lame. Combat-wise, I've only enjoyed Infinity, Composer, and Midnight. Speedrunning? Same. Tricking? Same. Yep, those are the only 3 levels that can hold my attention. The rest are dream killers. Horrible pacing.

5 RepliesEdited by A 3 Legged Goat: 4/14/2013 1:57:39 PMThe way I see it, there are 3 distinct sides: The one side that got bored of Halo 4 relatively quickly, but were able to stick with Reach for much longer in spite of its flaws. The other side that still detests Reach and are either enjoying Halo 4 or are somewhat optimistic that Halo 4 achevies its potential. Then I guess you could say there's another side that hates both and still plays Halo 3...

I need to delete it to make room for CoD

14 RepliesCampaign wise, Halo 4 is vastly superior. Multiplayer wise, Reach blows Halo 4 out of the water. And not just armor customization wise.
-
2 RepliesHalo 4 wins in campaign but reach won multiplayer

4 RepliesThe H4 Spartans look like stick men running around on SPEED. I was so jacked for H4 til I put t in and went to Forge. COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED (Re-Named to H4orgeless) The went to Custom Games and was DISAPPOINTED Again. In my humble opinion REACH is WAY better than 4 I bought Skyrim to pass the time til Destiny is released.

Master Chief: Hey, Cortana? Why does my armor look COMPLETELY different than it did in the last game and not just a minor graphical adjustment to the plating on the backs of my hands like in Halo 3's transition from Halo 2? Cortana: Firmware. Palmer: Eggheads.

I wish someone had a running count of all the Halo 4 hate threads on these forums... It would be in the hundreds of thousands. Your thoughts are not original at all. The game came out several months ago. Give it a rest! Go play something else! Go play Halo: Reach! I can't understand why everyone that dislikes Halo 4 has to make a thread about it...

Edited by OmegaCircuit: 3/19/2013 6:16:35 AMIn both of them, the multiplayer is a joke. However, I believe that Halo 4 has a strong campaign overall, while Reach has one of the worst stories of any video game prequel I've ever seen, as well as some awful level design
-
5 RepliesI don't agree. Although Reach's armour design is generally better. But I do prefer 4's armour texturing.

8 RepliesI think that Halo 4 would have been so much better if there was a Halo 4 Beta. Halo Reach was such a magnificent game, because Bungie managed to iron out a lot of the bugs before release, and get so much community response. It let them make a game that so many people liked, because they helped make it. Halo 4 had no Beta, leading to so many bugs, so many people losing interest in the game in the first few weeks, and just an overall worse game. I was so excited for a new Halo, and it really let me down. Not to mention that it seemed like 343 didn't really become active in the community until recently. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for 343, but I just want them to know what the did wrong, so they can do it right in the next games.

14 RepliesRather than hope to get a complete sample set here, why not consult the online player numbers. Looks like a LOT more people are playing Halo 4 than reach ... and before you start in with "that doesn't make it better" please have an answer that would adfress why people would be playing a game if they didnt enjoy it more? And its not like H4 still fits into the "new game" category either. Then there is the trend, H4 remains in the same top 5 position from the last published number, whilst reach fell a position.

3 RepliesFor me Halo 4 was a HUGE disappointment. The game got so boring so fast for me, I was interested in the game for about a month and after that I quit. Campaign and spartan ops were the only reason I was still playing it. Matchmaking or should I say "War Games" was awful it didn't even feel like a Halo multiplayer game to me it felt way more like CoD than anything. I really don't see the competitiveness in Halo like it used to, in Halo 2/3 you had to work to get your rank by working with your team and just being skilled at the game. Now it feels like they spoon feed you your rank and the skill that Halo had seems to be gone thanks to crappy maps, instant respawn, ordinance drops, custom classes, ect. I miss the good ol' days of Halo.

3 RepliesHEY EVERYBODY! LOOK IT'S ANOTHER PERSON WHO HATES HALO 4! THAT'S SO COOL AND WORTH THE TIME OF EVERYONE ON THE FORUMS!

2 Replieswe need 1000 more threads about it !

13 RepliesHalo 4 > Halo Reach I almost cried (tears of sorrow) when I played Halo Reach.
-
3 RepliesHalo: Reach definitely has better armor and better a better menu/ui. I also believe that the gameplay was better balanced in Reach. The campaign in Halo 4 was excellent though relatively short. I also really like the campaign in Reach. Although the visuals in Halo 4 are stunning, Reach just feels and looks better. Halo 4 just seemed to artificial to me. Also I really wish Halo 4 had firefight. Spartan ops was just annoying. The replay-ability was zero and I wish they were somewhat modifiable. I liked the custom game types in firefight. All in all I mostly play Reach while sometimes popping in to Halo 4 to check out the new playlists or maps. Every once and a while I play Halo 3 just for the heck of it, though the controls screw me up a lot.
