I can't play anymore due to constant error codes

I have been playing since the game came out. I would always brag to my friends how I never experienced error codes like they did, even on days when expansions came out. All of a sudden, a few months ago, now once I play for about 15-20 mins, I will start to get relentless error codes, to the point where I cant actually finish any content. In the video here, its weasels only, but usually its a mix of different codes one after the other. I use a fiber optic internet service and I am wired into ethernet right into my router, my wife also plays on the same home network on her pc and has zero issues, its only me. I want to play the game, I'm one of the few OG players left who still want to sign on every day, but what's the point if this is going to happen every time I play? I'm not exaggerating, this isn't just happening now and then - since a few months ago, this happens EVERY TIME I PLAY now. How do I fix this? I've uninstalled the game twice and changed out my ethernet cables as well.

  • Hello there, Thank you for reaching out and reporting this issue. A few things that are worth trying and double‑checking: 1. Rule out account / platform issues Try a different platform profile (if possible) If you’re on console, sign into a different profile and see if it can stay online longer than 15–20 minutes. If that account is stable, it helps narrow it down to profile/account‑specific data. Try your account on a different device on the same network If you have access to another console/PC, sign into your Bungie account there and see if the errors follow you. Errors follow you → more likely account/profile / ISP routing. Only your original machine has issues → more likely local device/network config. 2. Network checks (even on “good” internet) Even very good wired/fiber setups can have routing or config issues that Destiny is sensitive to: Full power cycle Unplug modem + router for at least 30–60 seconds. Power modem first, wait until it’s fully up, then router, then your PC/console. NAT / UPnP Make sure your NAT type is Open/Type 1 or 2. Enable UPnP on your router if it isn’t already. Avoid manual port forwarding and UPnP at the same time. No double NAT / special routing If you have a modem/router combo + a separate router, try putting the modem in bridge mode or temporarily connect your device directly to the modem to test. Disable VPNs, custom DNS/VPN apps, or “gaming accelerator” software while testing. Cable / port sanity check You’ve already swapped Ethernet cables, which is great. Also try a different port on the router and a different device in that same port to see if anything is flaky there. Bungie’s general network guide is here for more detail: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/24075746848148-Destiny-Error-Codes https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/24075746063252-Network-Troubleshooting-Guide 3. On PC: Disable any overlays and background apps that hook into games (Discord overlay, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner, Razer, etc.). Make sure: GPU drivers are up to date. Windows is fully updated. Any third‑party firewall / AV has exceptions for Destiny 2 and Steam/launcher.

Have you tried power cycling your router? Do you only get error coded when your wife also plays at the same time?
